I think Black Bear is the most terrifying pass we’ve done.

It’s really is a gorgeous area of Colorado if you get a chance to spend some time here. So much to do in this area. Great hot springs too. 😄

I’m guessing as it’s generally private property in that area, overnight car camping wouldn’t be allowed, right? 👍👍

Shout-out to the people who film vertically when making RUclips content. Looks so great compared to the majority of your footage which is shot landscape. Ugh.

You should probably research an area a little better before doing such an authoritative video. The red peak mountains in the area of Red Mountain are not common in the San Juan mountains - they are actually rare. I can only think of one or two other peaks in all of the San Juan range that have the red hue. Thousands of people drive their RV's down U.S. 550 every year - it is a little intimidating I imagine, but not really dangerous if you're paying attention and heed the speed limit, you'll be fine. The avalanche damage you captured early in the video was just that - no floods involved. In fact, U.S. 550 between Ouray and Silverton is one of the most active avalanche areas in the United States. The San Juan range is the largest mountain range in Colorado, covering more than 12,000 square miles, and contains the highest concentration of peaks over 14K feet. I've spent a lot of time in Colorado, and there is little of interest I haven't seen, but the San Juan mountains are special.
