- I met up with Meinl Cymbals in Nashville to film some Jason Richardson playthroughs from our album 'II' that was just released. The main repeating pattern in this song I wrote for The Word Alive's album REAL back in 2013, but the band ultimately decided not to use it. So, I gave it to Jason, & this is what we came up with. This song has veryyy difficult footwork!

How long did it take you to get that down pat?
The technicality of Lukes drumming is on such a different level. Its so wild watching his videos 10 years ago to now.
The first time I watched Luke play drums was about 8 or 9 years ago....my friends and I invited Molly over and watched videos in my friends in house theatre ( just to give you the scenario..). He was drums on Benny Benassis cinema...and I was just blown away by his skills and mesmerized. We must have watched videos all night but this young man's performance was just inked into my brain. I am always just as mesmerized by him as I was that first time....sans Molly cuz that was just a one time thing. I have enjoyed watching him perform over the years and grow into the man he is today, and I look forward to many more years of enjoying his talent. I am a middle-aged semi-retired female who lives in a quiet northern town on a great lake and I have him all over my playlists. Between Nina Simone and Tool and the Who....Luke is a classic 🥰

Yeah composition wise I’d recommend The Brain Dance by Animals As Leaders if you want your mind blown to smithereens. Also, good songs by them are Kascade, Lippincott and Gestaltzerfall

🥇🥁👍😀 Cómo me encanta ver estos videos, es un deleite cómo baterista escuchar a que niveles tan altos se puede llegar a tocar un instrumento, tenemos mucha suerte de poder ver estos videos tan inspiradores al alcance de solo abrir RUclips, antes eran muy pocos videos y la complejidad no era tanta... Aunque nunca llegue a tocar igual que bateristas cómo Luke, Garstka, Minnemann, Lang, etc etc, definitivamente al escucharlos e intentar tocar un poco de sus estilos, ayuda muchísimo a crecer hacia un mejor baterista, cuando te sale un arreglito parecido al de ellos, andas bien feliz y neta que mejora tu coordinación entre más lo intentas...poco a poco se siente la diferencia 😀👍🥁🥁🥇

Luke is a great drummer, just doesn’t post enough. Right now my favorite is El Estepario Siberiano, he’s worth checking out, also Yoyoka 12 year old Japanese girl is going to be big one day soon. Doesn’t read music but she sure can play. There’s actually tons of great musicians on RUclips that deserve more recognition.
