Well d lab i cant begin to express to you what your video on the radio show has done for me. At one point you came upon my dads radio a 1949 zenith transoceanic and i just started to cry. Thank you and your most lovely wife for probably the best hour of spent in a long time. Think ill go to my radio room and just love my radios. Thankyou. Ron. Z. Pgh. Pa.
What a blast! I just joined the New England Antique Radio Club, but unfortunately missed the fall expo. This has got me excited for the one upcoming in the spring! So great that your wife supports and shows an interest, too.
Hey Terry. I think I have watched all of your tube related videos and a few others. Reading some of the comments below I will attest - first, it is fantastic that you have a wife like Marsha that supports you and participates willing in your life. I wish there were a LOT more like her around. Second, it is very generous of you to take the time to produce these videos and share your deep knowledge and experience with tube related gear and repair. As far as MARC moving this event from Lansing to Kzoo and that being too far to drive, the subscriber should know that I, for the first time, am driving from Belleville - not NY or PA, but Ontario Canada to Kzoo to attend this show next week (500 miles one way). I'm sure there are many others doing the same and many more that wish they could. I am aware of this rare event and extremely interested in it because of D-lab's one and only Mr. Terry Dayton or else I might not have known about it. Thank you and I hope I run into you at MARC EX.
Terry - It was great meeting you at the show! I've gotten a lot of enjoyment watching all your videos. Great stuff. Very educational, and often hilarious! 73, Tom N9DD South Bend, IN
J'adore regarder les expositions je rêve dans ma bulle je pense a rien d autres je suis comblé moi qui adore la hifi et je fais partie d un club radio le réf de Lyon bonne continuation mes amis.
Really enjoyed this video. I did not see a vintage 40s era Magnavox combination radio phonograph. I possess one we refinished the cabinet a family friend got the chassis working. It has "military grade wiring and components and two shortwave bands. It came from Guam out of an officer's club. I am looking for someone to restore it.
I just saw a beautiful 5 tube radio that was made in high school electronics class in 1975 I wish I still had mine what how much is that it's on the top you just went by it..??
I just watched this and the 2018 expo. There were some wonderful pieces there. I wished i had known about this. I most likely would have spent too much money. And i think your Wife and i am assuming your Grand Daughter are just precious. Both do a fantastic job in keeping you in check...lol. thanks for the Video. It was fun to watch...Vic KE8JWE Cincinnati area
Hello, Glad you enjoyed. Yes, lots there to temp you. Oct 21st is the Kalamazoo Hamfest. I will be there rolling video, buying things I dont need. Emi may be with me, so keep an eye ready for more vintage scenes!
Wow, that was fantastic. It was like you took all of us along for the day. It's so fun exploring the aisles and all of the: I had one of those, I have one of those, and of course, I want one of those lol. Thankfully, this trip kept me out of trouble with my wife, as I couldn't buy anything hahaha. I see that you deal with the same resistance and rejection lol. Oh well, happy wife = happy life. God Bless my man and thanks for the vids
Thanks for the great video. I thought about going but I see now there were very few boat anchors except for the one receiver that was outside my price range ! LOL Guess I will stick with hamfest's to find a HT-32A Hallicrafters transmitter 73 VA3GAH.
This video doesnt even cover it all. Next show is Fri-Sat July 13-14 2018 at the Kalamazoo Expo Center. $5 Admission each day or $25 for all access (MARC members $15) . Get to this show if you want to see cool stuff for reasonable prices. There is a Bargain Auction at the end of the event (3pm Saturday) where stuff sells for $1-5 per item usually, box lots of parts and stuff go cheap too. Need more info? see www.thevee.org
SAY WHAAAAAT! no 16mm film-o-sound projectors? Only one RtR tape recorder. A few geetar amps. Hay I liked that Hallicrafter's S115, or something like tht. A few tubie TV sets. I didn't see any Hammarlunds, may have dozed off. And not much in the transceiver department. But some kewl junk, where was that VM receiver purchase in the hamgon?
Sziasztok Amerikaiak ! Valaki tudna nekem küldeni bármit, ami a régi elektronikával kapcsolatos ! Magyarországon elég szegényes az Amerikai kínálat. ((Szabó Zoltán (H) 9351 Babót Fő utca 12.))

That's a really nice fest because 1) it's not SUPER crowded so you can move around 2) looks to be climate controlled 3) good prices on stuff.
Can I have it?????!!!!!-HaHa!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been there done that. I need that.
I hate the fact they moved it from Lansing to Kzoo.... too far to drive for a few hours of looking
So... did he actually talk them into letting him in for free?? :-)
Nope had to pay for both days, just $5.00 per
