@@decentaur5040 That's not true. Heart disease is NOT caused by cholesterol or animal fat. Both ideas are myths that have been thoroughly discredited over the past few years. I’ve been there. I was vegetarian since age 12. Then I went Vegan. My health plummeted. I had so many health problems I thought I was going to die. I went Vegan to help with some health issues. I’m 55. I started having muscle wasting. I did everything they told me to do. Finally they said I had to eat some meat. This is just how my body works. I wrote everything down. They said my diet was fine but my body just couldn’t absorb what I needed any more. I went back to a diet that my Grandmother fed me on her homestead. Lots of veggies, very small amounts of meat, low fat because I’ve be diabetic since age 12. I’m fine now. Docs are amazed. Genetically not all of us can be Vegan.

It's disappointing when a vegan realises that the vegan way of eating is just not good for a human's health, even with careful supplementation, over long term. I eat animal proteins and fats mostly and haven't needed to see a doctor since I started, two and a half years ago. Seriously healthier than before I started, when I ate low fat high carb. Just wasn't healthy for me either. Carbohydrates particularly processed sugar, fruit and grains, are not healthy for humans at all. Well, that's my experience . I hope that you (Kim) can find good health again.

I used to believe plants were healthy and not only that - necessary for good health. After going colt turkey, cutting them out completely, major things have happened regard to my health. I wasn't a vegan before, but I did eat two pounds of vegetables every day. Hope it's okay for you that I share my experiences with you. The first thing that happened was that my leaky gut healed completely within two weeks, I've struggled with this since I was a young teenager. The second thing that got better was my "chronic" inflamed shoulder, I do feel it a tiny bit of something after a heavy chest and shoulder day at the gym, but earlier I could barely brush my teeth, so it's nothing like before. My grass and pollen allergies I've struggled with since I was a boy, is gone. In the spring my face got swollen, and I could barely breathe, even with meds. But this year I haven't used them. My energy is much better, it's very stable compared to before. The biggest improvement however, and the reason why I want to continue ditching plants is my mood. My depression and anxiety is gone. I used to be an excessive over thinker, worrying about everything, what other people though of me, how I looked, the future... Well, my depression is gone. I sometimes feel euphoric or I guess you could call it "high", crazy as it sounds. I find my self smiling walking down the streets, something I never did before. I feel more in touch with my true self, I have a very strong feeling that this is how I am supposed to be, and I am getting closer to my true potentional. We are not supposed to be sick and obese, or struggle with mental issues. The brain in mainly made of the omega 3 fatty acid DHA and cholesterol, which is only found in animal products. The strange thing is that even though I've always eaten meat, these issues didn't resolve before going strictly, only meat. So maybe the plants, at least for me, did more damage than good. Good luck towards a better health and a true and honest version of your self! We all deserve to reach our full potentional, physically and mentally.

For good or ill, its amazing how powerful diet can be.

Google Sally Patcholok. See her book 'Could it be B12 ?' It has information on vegan and vegetarian diets. I think it's important that you read this. Also look for Dr. Georgia Ede.

Glycine and glutamine are good for my anxiety. Both are very low or low in vegan diet.
Best source of glycine is gelatine /thick bone broth. For glutamine I found raw goats milk is good.
Glutamine is in many foods, but goats milk had 2x as much glutamine per gram of protein as say, pork muscle meat or lentils.
This is why it's important to eat a variety of proteins. Each part of the animal and plants have different amino acid ratio.
So, if you eat only muscle meat, or only legumes, you'll probably wind up with too much of some amino acids and not enough of the rest.
Vegans claim that your body can make other amino acids by conversion. But this takes good health, especially good gut health. Many people in the west today do not have this. Thus, amino acid supplements are now very popular.
I've tried them but they smell and taste so chemical. Made in a lab. Very expensive and provide no calories or vits and minerals.
Milk has them all 😎. I'm on raw goats milk. So expensive but it works and now I'm off my GABA and a whole handful of other supplements 😊

+Hans S As a Dietitian with access to food tables and the reference literature for all/most sources of protein and significant clinical experience I can say that protein is an issue on a vegan diet. The body absorbs complete protein, so even if beans have a lot of protein, the body will only actually absorb very little "complete" protein and discard the rest. So a plateful of beans may only have 6g available protein. Average requirement for 60kg healthy man would be approx 64g protein. When he gets unwell this requirement gets significantly higher.

    • @Art_Dilees
      @Art_Dilees 5 лет назад +1

@Hans S yeh u just have to look up UK food tables and countless studies its not hard. Its not old science. But of course if you know better :D which you obviously do......Yes u must combine foods. But typically these result in a very limited set. Eg. Rice and beans etc. Im not against veganism. However Ive seen too many malnourished vegans in hospital and its hard for them struggling along on v little nourishment losing weight, growing skeletal. You try your best but theres very little you can suggest. Because the requirement for nourishment during sickness is typically high. When u have ppl who are stuck in dogma they refuse even to help themselves -so family /friends/ loved ones have to witness them melting away.

protein deficiency leads to many consequences. To name a few kwashiokor, stunting, Immune compromise; repeated infection, poor resistance to infection and opportunity for chronic disease GI tract dysfunction and poor epithelial integrity resulting in IgE allergy or food intolerance. Disturbances in the endocrine system. Poor sleep, neurological disturbance, poor protein causes wasting muscles (including heart muscle) hair skin nails cognitive dysfunction impaired wound healing wound breakdown and pressure sores (where the bone is visible) weakness in cough reflex which leads to inability to expectorate secretions in the lungs which ultimately (combined with a poor nutritional status) leads to pneumonias and death

The most important thing you can do for yourself right now is learn how to take the emotion out of what you are eating.
No way of eating will work for you until you relax. Stress WILL upset your digestion system - from one end to the other. Without a healthy digestive system, you can't have a healthy immune system - and you will get the diseases you are afraid of.
Please stop Google'ing. I know how seductive it is to have access to so much information at your fingertips. But there comes a point where you have to stop reading and just listen to what your body is telling you.
    I hope you get better.

Have you seen a chiropractic physician who does applied kinesiology (a technique which uses muscle testing to ask the body what it needs to strengthen the body). They usually work with nutritional supplementation. Because each human's health challenges are unique, applied kinesiology allows the practitioner to "ask" the individual's body what is specifically needed. A chiropractor looks for misalignment in the spine and. removes them by adjusting /the spine. This removes any interference to the proper functioning if the nervous system.
There are also chiropractors trained in a technique called Contact Reflex Analysis ( CRA) which also uses muscle testing to find out what is going on with each organ in the body. They use nutritional supplementation to support the healing process.
You referred to Norway several times. If you live in Norway, I don't know what the situation is there relative to chiropractors, but here in the states, many of them add nutritional supplementation to their practices.
I have worked on by the two types of practitioners I mentioned above, and they helped bring me back from the brink of death when I had chronic fatigue syndrome.
I had then a strict vegetarian for over 21 years. I got so weak I had to drop out of Redwood School. All I wanted to do was lie down on the floor in the hallways and I wouldn't have cared of people walked on me. That's how tired I was. I went first to a cra chiropractor for two years. Using nutritional supplementation and getting my spine adjusted on a regular basis to restore nerve health and functioning, I came back to a state of balance.
But the most dramatic thing was reintroducing chicken and fish into my diet.
When I dropped out of school, I got a job home nursing for an elderly bedridden woman. One day I boiled some chicken for her.
When looking at the chicken broth in the pot, I it ooked like dirty dish water with Globs of fat floating on top.
My response was "yuck.". It was a real turn-off . But I felt a strong inner voice prompting me to drink it.
I really wrestling with the spirit on that one. For one thing, it really made me queasy to look at it. Secondly, my pride did not want me to give up my perfect 21-year record as a vegetarian
finally, I overcame the resistance because I felt that it was Spirit speaking to me.
So I drank it. Immediately my entire body vibrated with Newfound vigor. It was like every cell in my body said, "Thank you!!!!!"
I felt immediately strengthened. That was a real eye-opener, because I realized that even with nutritional supplements there was still something in my actual food that I was consuming that was nutritionally deficient
even though I had that epiphany, I was not able to go back to actually eating chicken or fish right away. Whenever I tried chewing on chicken flesh I had to spit it out, because it was so repugnant to me. I decided to give myself time to adjust to the thought of eating animal flesh again, so I experimented with simply adding organic chicken broth to my brown rice or made vegetable soups with chicken broth.
That event was over 17 years ago. Once I got back to where I was strong enough I return to my studies ( It took me 18 months). I did so.
I call myself FLEXITARIAN, but eat mainly vegetarian style. I get my protein from eggs, cheese, beans, hummus etc.
I wouldn't dream of trying red meat ( gave up pork when I was twelve). I still do not purchase or cook chicken or fish, I will occasionally do tuna fish or chicken salad or I will eat the chicken if it's at a professional conference and that's all the Protein that's available to me.
I think it is important to not e RIGID around concepts like "If you love nimals don't eat them"
That statement isn't even true anyway. There are millions of people who eat animal flesh and toss a piece to their beloved dog who's sitting right beside them smacking its lips. BOTH animals are eating animal and BOTH can be healthy.
Try drinking warm chicken broth with some parsley and see if it soothes and enliven you. The proverbial Jewish mothers who are often the butt of comedians' jokes for bringing a sick person chicken soup for EVERY ailment were -- I think-- on track.
You sound as if you have a lot of issues. Under played by distress. I know how it feels to be weak and tired and confused about what to do when your health is lost but mental emotional states have a lot to do with health and healing perhaps even more so than just food. Get a copy of the book anatomy of an illness by Norman Cousins. he healed himself for a very painful connective tissue disease when the doctors have given up on him by following his inner guidance. he watch funny videos for many months and the illness which had him wracked with pain completely disappeared
. It is said that laughter is the best medicine. there's plenty on RUclips to lift your spirits and take your mind off your troubles. there's a RUclips channel JUST FOR FUN.
There are also funny animal videos that lift the spirits
if you focus so much on naming diseases and fear of getting ill you actually create the very things you're afraid of because of your mental and emotional states.
And PRAY FOR HELP ND NNER GUIDANCE. That was a strong component of my healing Journey. Also meditation helped because the healing process is facilitated when the body is in the state of relaxation. Let go and let God. here's a simple technique. Sit quietly somewhere put on soothing music if you choose, close your eyes. On the out breath simply say Let go. On the in breath mentally say, let God🙏.
Good luck in your healing journey.

Everyone has a certain way they choose to eat. If you want to stay Vegan, that's fine. If you want to eat some plants/fruits and some animal products, that's fine too. If you want to go to the opposite end of the spectrum and eat only from the animal kingdom, do it. Only you live in your body. No one else.

David Freed that's actually a good idea, however, he will eventually run inti the same problem again. The pepsin enzyme which strips b12 away from other proteins for assimilation is only available when you eat some meat. Otherwise, that stomach acid and pepsin enzyme goes down significantly over time...this is why most vegans will eventually need a B12 shot i stead, because at some point, even fortified foods won't help so much.

Today 1/16/19 I went to the store though i was weak an started a Keto diet. I did not want to leave my vegan diet because I have always loved salads at beans and vegetables. My health has forced me back. I was hospitalized in July with a hemoglobin of 7. They said it had nothing to do with being vegan which makes sense but then a year later I ended up with thyroid issues and you talking about depression and anxiety the week muscles in my legs.. I will just come back I'm finished my comment. I had a huge salad and I made some albacore tuna fish because I can't get too overwhelmed oh and I did have an avocado as well it was all delicious. It's going to be hard to cut the sugar, the carbs and the beans a lot of my fruits but my health is at stake. To you doing this video go ahead and start eating a balanced diet and I guarantee you your cut will get better you didn't get like this overnight and you won't heal overnight give it some time and quit worrying because that makes your anziety worse. I have always had panic attacks and I've been on medicine but at the end I was coming even on the medicine and that's never happened so I said it's time I give it my best shot. I know what you mean you feel betrayed but look just let all that go just focus on you and get better and then you deal with the rest later.. you take care of yourself and stay in the comments section so you can let people know how you're doing I'll make another video I'd love to hear.Oh Im doing Keto.My B-12 was fine.

Admit that there are things you are designed to eat and meat is top priority. It is psychological hurdle you must throw yourself over and become as passionate about it as you were veganism. It's for your health and your mental state of mind. Don't take no for an answer. Kick it's ass. You were wrong. You tried that with bad results so now you know. Welcome back to sanity.

Hello darling , I was a vegetarian for a while and it didn’t agree with me.
I started to get physical problems and had to start eating fish again and later on also meat.
My body didn’t convert plant based nutrients in to nutrients my body could use. Omega 3 and B12 and others.
Just as you, I was not pleased. Wanted to help the planet, my animal friends, etc.!
My turnaround was the realisation while I was planting a eco garden, that even plant are not Vegan. They fead themselves with nutrients from dead animals.
Bugs, and worms etc. The circle of life really.
I’m still not a big meat eater. More eggs, some fish and yoghurt/skyr/quark. If, than I’ll make sure they had the best life.
Make the best choice for yourself and do not care about others. Health is everything I found.

Did you get your blood tested for other vitamin deficiencies or just B12 and cholesterol? B12 is pretty easy to supplement if you're low and there's nothing inherent in animal products that your body can't get from plants. It's also a bit weird that your doctor recommended eggs specifically, which are high in saturated fat and cholesterol. My guess is that (a) You have some sort of disease unrelated to your diet or (b) your previous vegan diet wasn't nutritionally adequate. Either way, I hope you find out what's causing your health problems. It's pretty clear to me that you don't want to return to eating animal products if you don't have to so I wish you the best of luck.

They check for a lot of other things, not just B12 and cholesterol. I have been taking a B12 supplement for 3 years so it was weird that it was low. I have also been following the dietary recommendations from what my clinical nutritionist told me and also what the big health organizations in Norway (and global) recommend. My diet was adequate.
Now that I have talked with Pamela Popper, the woman I mentioned in my video, I have got a new view on diet. The mainstream recommendations for a vegan diet are in her eyes not adequate. There should be no oil at all, and for people with IBD (like me), we should not be eating gluten or dairy. None of my specialists (colon expert, medical doctor, clinical nutritionist, etc) said anything about this. Already my pain is gone and it remains to be seen if any more good changes happen.

I really hope this guy gets better and is not attacked by the vegan community because you wouldn't attack someone who is suffering or being so open and honest about their struggles so why would you attack someone solely because of what they eat. I would recommend this guy try dipping his toe into the pescitarian diet, and I say so because I have heard horror stories of vegans jumping back into animal products and suffering from nausea and vomiting. For the sake of you mental health and physical health begin eating meat (organic or 100% grass fed and preferably beef) and cut back on the plant based foods. 90% meat to 10% plant or close to it. The meat should be cooked medium rare so not to destroy it completely with over cooking. You will notice an improvement. Animal foods will calm you and restore your health. They will heal and reline your digestive system and allow better nerve function. Eat butter, dripping, tallow and if you do eat rice or cooked vegetables add these fats to it so you can better digest such plant foods. Guilt about eating animal foods has nothing to do with it, you are more important then veganism. You can be interested in animal welfare and support better animal management yet it should not be to the detriment of your health.

Ulcerative colitis can only be CURED with diet. You pretty much have to do the opposite of what you have been doing. Learn about and implement a style of eating following the principals of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, the GAPS Diet, and an ancestral-paleo template. I wish you good luck.

Being alive means that you will experience suffering and you will inevitably inflict suffering on other beings, no amount of effort can prevent that. Given the chance a lion would eat your fucking face without giving it a second thought, circle of life you know.

I contacted Pamela Popper at the Wellnesforum, got back on a specific vegan diet with no gluten, and got in remission :D I will make a video about this at some point but right now I don't have time.

@@kimandreasheroy Hope it works out for you. Some people can most cannot. My wife had to go back to beef. She was eating herself away. Within a week I could see the change.

your a nice guy...sometimes i feel like shit too. but I'm telling you its the worm. i haven't gotten it out yet bc water fasting is too hard but its obvious that i have one you can hear it use its jet propulsion when you feel "hungry" bc its hungry.

...also, how about trying raw milk?? ...even people finding things difficult to eat, start eating animal products by eating just a teaspoonful the first time and very slowly work up to more - good luck!!! :)

Try animal products for a few months and if there is no difference you will know it is not about veganism and you can resume but don't ignore facts to suit your choice or preference. Also don't eat processed red meat and all, or eat it in reasonable portions like once every two weeks, the rest walk into a butchery.

    Does veganism contribute to anxiety?

  • @jenniferjames8876

Are you stressed ? Will effect your health vegan or non vegan. It sounds like you have anxiety I had all those symptoms when i was stressed and I was eating meat and dairy , B12 is very important when stressed.

    • @kimandreasheroy

I've been taking B12 supplements for almost 3 years so I doubt that is why.

Plant-Based Kim // Gluten Free Vegan Cooking - With all due respect, the next time you make a video, remember to speak in a normal speed. It's actually painful trying to listen to all that silence until you utter some words.
You should check out: Medical Medium, www.medicalmedium.com
Click the Healing tab, to listen to a lot of his podcasts too.
Also, you need to eat some animal meats and fats. You don't have to over do it, but you need the benefits of red meat as well as other animal/fish meats.
