Same here, I'm more than impressed with mine and the sound. Extremely durable too! I've never put a case on mine and it's went through hell. Still the cheapest and best sounded guitar in my little group.
One of my first guitars was a “cheap” Ibanez acoustic. Don’t remember what exact model it was, but my buddy bought it in the 80’s for 199, and I ended up buy it off him for 100 in the 90’s. It was great for the price! Had great action. Eminently playable. And sounded good too.
I kind of feel like it's a bit obnoxious of Ibanez to make a nice sounding new guitar, but in a size/shape that won't fit existing cases, and doesn't include, or at least currently offer a case... As for having multiple acoustics, I think having one really good one is key, but you probably want one that's bigger, one smaller, and a 12 string if you're going to do a good amount of acoustic playing.
I was a Taylor fan for years then went to Australian Maton which I will be with the rest of my life.....I thought .ok I loved the first fingerstyle video. The only problem period I have with switching cuz I love the bracing and electronics and as a certified tech I feel I can at least ask this I know part of the ad is selling us because it’s larger...I have Matons because of my age and my disability so I use a couple 808s small body one cut away, one not so I’m wondering if Ibanez would be willing to do this guitar in a smaller body size...if the bracing and electronics are the primary difference and not really the size . I bought a couple of Ibanez with the artificially aged wood but they didn’t come near to these guitars sound wise and you can’t convince me the size of the body can’t sound just as good in the smaller size. im between Ibanez AAD50 , CORT CJ-RETRO-VBM and CORT CJ-MEDX-NAT, i want a guitar that have a lot of resonance and harmonics like a piano with pedal resonance , what do u recommend?
I had an entry level Ibanez acoustic from like 25 years ago. It sounds beautiful but I could have hung my laundry on it, the action was so high. Had it lowered but its still higher than my Yamaha LL16. I might have it looked at again, because I just don't want to get rid of it.
@@Jez3134 Are you asking about my old ibanez? I know the saddle is tall and the neck may need adjustment.... and at some point I will look more into it. But honestly since I got the LL16 I haven't taken the Ibanez out of the case. If I take it to a shop to get a proper set-up It would cost more than the thing is worth....LOL I might mess around for a learning experience. If I mess it up I wont feel bad.
@@brianessig get 320/600 grit sandpaper, a flat surface and sand down the nut and bridge saddle, then take a look at the truss rod and you’re good to go. You’ll likely lose a bit of low end lowering the action significantly though.
You guys are funny. I honestly have no big plans to do anything. It’s on old entry level crappy guitar. Heck a new set of good tuners would cost more cost more than it’s worth. LOL. If I do attempt some modifications and screw it up I wouldn’t care. The budget stuff like in this video have come a long way and I’m impressed. That’s really what I was getting at in comparison to what I had available 25 years ago.
Any great tone becomes boring over time. It's a natural thing. I, like Pete, woot woot, have a Fishman Rare Earth Blend. I blend the mag and the mic and come up with more creative tones. Ibanez has made a great guitar with a mag/contact (and the Gomm mag/mic/contact). I like the AAD300 tones in stereo from Pete.
Spruce is nicer to my ears but I'm not liking these guitars. Sounds blah, looks ok but the players don't seem too bothered with these. Their basses I really like.
For someone who knows nothing about acoustics (me) - can someone tell me if this is something to get? I want an acoustic for my studio that I can record. I know recording the plugged in sound is dumb except for live shows.

The magnetic pickup sounds just as shit as a piezo. The contact mic is where it’s at. Why doesn’t every guitar come with a contact pickup? Piezos are just horrible.

Love Ibanez acoustic guitars. I've been using an Artwood AW54 open pore for 8 years. Sounds warm and full. And it just gets better as it ages.
