It's time to take a look at everyone's favorite Toy Story animated cowboy Woody and his costume evolution in the parks! #ToyStory is one of #Pixar's most iconic films, and as they continued to expand the story with sequels, Woody's costume saw multiple transformations including a whole host of interesting looks at #DisneyOnIce.

The neck, eyes, and lower cheeks have been so wrong for that 20 years. The body itself has been just fine. The new one though? Perfect!
one of the rare occasions in Disney where the costume doesn't start off absolutely horrific. as for other character evolutions, i'd love to see a Captain Hook evolution someday!

Weird voices, Disney is usually very strict about what their characters sound like. They usually have to sound exactly the same throughout. I never thought the Toystory characters translated well to costume, there was always a lack of a neck for me. Especially Jessie!

Sometimes, things have to remain in cartoon-
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with him already having weird proportions because he's made of stuffing and cloth lol. Honestly regular mascot costumes just won't look as good unfortunately haha.
Jim Hanks probably voiced Woody in that Very Merry Christmas parade as he’s the voice of Woody in things like theme parks and merchandise

I do believe it's him. If you listen to the earlier work Jim did he sounded nothing like Woody. It was only until later he matched Tom's voice

I'm so glad they revamped the Toy Story character costumes, they needed some serious TLC. And those old sepia toned costumes were super cool, I didn't know they did that!

I cosplay as Woody (For fun). When I go to Anime conventions with friends they all have their anime cosplays and I see all the many different franchised cosplays. When I walk out as Woody EVERYBODY goes nuts. It's also fun to get reactions when I'd be walking from the hotel to the convention center.
I would love to see a video devoted to the interesting choices made by Disney on ice in general. I took my younger sister to High School Musical 2 on ice and we were not prepared for ice Zefron to suddenly rip his shirt off and skate past us during the musical number.
Please do a video on Buzz's costume evolution. His costume for the on ice shows have such a huge head, and it looks horrifying.

I saw Toy Story on Ice for my 8th Birthday back in 2000, and I still have that book from it. I remember having a great time seeing the play with my parents and it still remains a fond memory, but looking back, I'm impressed that I never thought anything about Woody and Buzz looking creepy as masked characters. I guess it helps that I was only seeing them from a distance.

Apparently the original Backyard Gang costume was like sandpaper to the touch. So kudos to any child who got to hug the purple nightmare when he did public appearances at Birthdays and schools, when he hadn’t hit the big times yet XD

You got to believe it, Dan. I LOVE WOODY!!! *I LOVE TOY STORY!!!* I have had those characters, especially Woody, in my heart since I saw the first Toy Story. Woody is my absolute favorite CGI cowboy. He has the frigging willfulness, and everything that is wonderful, aside his pull string, to help *RIDE THE RANGE!!!* He is everything just for me.
I'd love to see a costume evolution on Jessie! I remember the first time I watched Toy Story 2 and was SO EXCITED to see such a cool character with my name-- actually SPELLED CORRECTLY lol She's one of my all-time favorites 🥺

Bo Peep's evolution would be cool to see because they have buggered up her look big time with some of her costumes, would love to see one on Stitch because some of his early looks were really....something, or the Evil Queen from Snow White.

It could be fun to look at the evolution of the Green Army Soldiers too! From the plastic squares (or lack thereof) on the shoes, to the "fur" vs. face transition. Even the DCL Youth Activities & Walt Disney Theatre Show versions (Golden Mickeys & Toy Story the Musical) have some differences to the park & on ice versions!
I don’t know why, but I was fine with masked Woody (Toy Story 2) on Ice, it worked from a back row perspective.

This one sounds like a weird topic I’d love to learn more about: Figaro being a cat in Pinocchio but becoming Minnie’s cat which he still in in some cartoons. What kind of decision that was and if there was anything else’s from the movies that outlasted their movies.

Toy Story was a smash hit because it was the very first computer animated feature film. Back in 1995, CGI was brand new and experimental and Pixar was the first computer animation company to take it to the big screen. CGI objects in the 90’s had a plastic-like texture to them, so Pixar decided to make the movie about toys coming to life and it was a huge hit!
Not Toy Story related but I'd love for you to talk about the Cinderella characters- especially the Tremaines and the Fairy Godmother! They have had a fascinating history with masks and drag!

I feel like they never get the head and body to be correctly proportioned to the arms and legs, they're all around the same size but as a toy and in the movie, his body and head are much bigger than his limbs so you get this really...

I honestly don’t think any of the human toy story characters have translated well into meet and greet characters. Hell Jessie is straight up nightmare fuel.

Fun Fact: When you hear Woody's voice in the parks it's not Tom Hanks! (I know it's insane) You might be asking then, well who is it? Well it's Tom's brother Jim Hanks!

I love the Sepia version, that was cool af ! P.s. The white eye makeup actually works in my opinion !! Guys can wear makeup too people. Besides this was done more for stage which helps with in stadiums and stage like that.
In terms of the Woody costumes, the 2021 version is yet to be called the *best of the west.* While the Woody we've been used to had the "real-life" look as if he looked like Patrick Warburton donning the costume, this Woody is more correctly accurate from the screen than ever. No wonder he rides the range even in terms of evolving the look.
