Genuine soul music. The film 'Mr. Church' featuring (and produced by) Mr. Eddie Murphy highlights the soul of pianists in the symphony of all musical genres, especially jazz and gospel. Thanks for posting.
repaly replay can't expalin it absolutely love this rendition beautiful , music means the world to me evokes so many emotions! this piece makes everything ok! thanks for sharing will purchase and keep in rotation.
What does everyone think Jason paused to think of at the start? Love how he develops on such a simple soulful vamp, this reminds of gospel and romantic period music.
I like the piano. Sounds like someone lacquered the hammers too much and didn't tune it very well, but sometimes you just have to work with what you have. In fact, music is all about working with what you have, in my opinion - tone, facility, emotion, experience, etc. In a way, a concert tuning pulls me away from the emotional expressions. There is no physical history expressing itself in the ether, other than pedigree paths. What's expected happens. Everywhere else is chance.
In other words, sometimes the stage is a cultural void, seemingly coming from the heavens to annihilate any context, which is my big contention with alot of contemporary jazz. Not here in this performance, no. You can hear the building in some of those notes, and not in some arbitrary, intellectually way, but in a physically rich way.
How beautiful. Simply played with heart. Thank you Jason
