I think she’s using a lower to keys to protect her voice and also that she’s a natural contralto..she’s only 16, there’s no sense in wearing her voice out too soon. Well, you point about jazz is okay, but AJ's performance here is absolutely stellar. She has to belt near the top of her range, and she handles the key change perfectly. Very little vocal strain or pressure. Her riffs during the coda are from another planet -- and the way she sustains fry and vibrato throughout her runs is her signature: easily the best I've every encountered. This is what happens when you bring a jazz mentality to pop. Also, I completely agree about your recommendation to list to Soyang's version -- she and AJ are currently the best female singers on the planet.

If you're a sucker of high notes then probably you will prefer the other versions with the higher key... For me I prefer someone pulling me in than someone blowing me away. I've watched Sohyang version and must admit she's crazy good she blew me away with her sheer performance. But Angelina's version pulls me in with the warm on her tone and her beautiful delicate runs. No one I knew does those runs as better as Angelina. I want a voice that hugs me and Angelina has that quality on her voice. Thank you for your reaction...

I have listen to Sohyang on this song. How can any one makes comparison between her, AJ, and Whitney. IMO she has nothing to do here . You call her a " singer", I have just see a vocal athlete preparing for the next Olympics of singing. High notes, hight notes, belting, belting, the song , no more than a pretext to show off. angelina gives us something special with this performance. not to bad for a girl who is just more than half the age whitney was when she recorded this song. speaking about the key this song is performed in by whitney . when this was released for the movie the bodyguard whitney sang this in a higher key that she never did replicate after that, leading to people saying that it was artificialy created in the recording studio. regardless an incredible song by both whitney and angelina. thx for your passion in your reactions

Hi Giacomo, also I prefer her on jazzy songs, or rearranging songs from other genres in a jazzy way as her awesome "Billie Jean" (Jazzy Cover), but I'm not sure if that is because her voice is even better suited for this kind of songs, or if it's just because I generally prefer that kind of music... angelina gives us something special with this performance. not to bad for a girl who is just more than half the age whitney was when she recorded this song. speaking about the key this song is performed in by whitney . when this was released for the movie the bodyguard whitney sang this in a higher key that she never did replicate after that, leading to people saying that it was artificialy created in the recording studio. regardless an incredible song by both whitney and angelina. thx for your passion in your reactions

Really enjoyed your reaction Giacomo and honesty... not here to dispute what you say...great comments, just that not every vocalist who does a cover of a song, especially this one, needs to sound like Whitney... that gets pretty pretty boring in MHO, simply because it has been done a 1000 times. A different, extraordinary take on this song, that has been beat to death over the years is quite quite refreshing. Copycat singers just do not float my boat so to speak, no imagination. Cheers.

Hi Giacomo, also I prefer her on jazzy songs, or rearranging songs from other genres in a jazzy way as her awesome "Billie Jean" (Jazzy Cover), but I'm not sure if that is because her voice is even better suited for this kind of songs, or if it's just because I generally prefer that kind of music... I know what you mean by "black" music, also you mentioned blues and soul, of course it is independent from skin color today as especially with the internet age people from all around the world already at a very young age can pick up musical influences from all genres and traditions, just think of the amazing soul feel Sohyang has, or why I love Fujii Kaze, but not Babymetal or Band Maid, for me 'It won't do a thing if it ain't got that swing"... think of the amazingly amazing Yoyoka from Japan who did perfect Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple drum covers at age seven, so even Ian Paige invited her for a collaboration (together with German drum prodigy Sina) ...I think you need to check her out, not for me and a reaction, but for your private pleasure, give her 3 min., I know you will love her, and love feels good...:) - or, some time ago, just by chance, because I love Haley Reinhart and searched for her name I discovered an unbelievable 9 year old girl from the Philippines covering Haley Reinhart/PMJ's jazzy cover of "Habits" - but how!!! - This one is not on Yoyoka's channel which I definitely recommend to check out, but on the channel of Ellen who plays bass, she will also blow you away, the bass is bigger than her :) but you better not challenge her, bass man :) - Yokoka flew to the US and met the other kids and they jammed for some hours and then they recorded this more than amazing cover... This is also a good example of how music transcends language barriers, because Yoyoka just starts to learn English, but in an interview she tells how they had fun together without being able to talk much, and after a couple of hours they came out with this, perfectly in sync...kids, in the year 2022... it's really crazy :)
