Are all Leeches out to get you? Are they all really just thirsty vampires lurking beneath the waters surface?
Well in an attempt to prove and disprove some of the common Leech myths going around these days Coyote has once again volunteered himself to go through a little experiment in the name of science. Mainly because one of the questions Coyote always seems to get is “how many Leeches he’s found on himself?” while wading through various swamps and lakes looking for Snapping Turtles…and also because, well, he’s just plain curious himself!
So in this video not only will he reveal the surprising answer to how many Leeches he’s had to pry off of his body over the years but he will also give you a “first hand” demonstration of what it’s like to be literally feasted on by these squirmy little suckers!

The only channel that does what the thumbnail entails. Best part is, it's not just "Hey watch this thing bite me". He does that but gives a lot of information to go with it. He doesn't drag out the video either, he gets straight to the point. Great channel man.

Leeches actually only feed once every 3-4 months and won't feed more often than that, they can go up to a year without feeding and are actually pretty cute creatures. I have leeches as pets and love them very much

Pretty sure leeches aren't that bad.
They have chemicals that make your skin numb in the area where they bite, so you wouldn't feel much. After they've had their fill and drop off, you just feel itchy where they have bitten. You'll lose a lot of blood, but not much pain would be felt.

Once when I was a kid, I went into a pond and tried to catch some minnows and frogs. (I released them afterwards.) When I got out of the water, I had a few leeches on my legs. However, they never bit me. They were easy to get off and didn’t cause any damage. This video goes to prove how not all leeches are like vampires!

The leeches basically reduce the pain, so it's about as painful as you accidentally cutting yourself with a knife. Sure, there's a lot of blood, but your receptors don't make it as painful as something like a paper cut

I'm not scared of blood. I dislike leeches but it's not a huge fear of mine so this video is quite relaxing compared to the Giant Desert Centipede one.

I used to love watching this vid when I was younger and then a week ago I swam in a lake at a daycamp ani got bitten by 3 GIANT LEECHES, and I was the only one who got bit and nobody knew what to do then I remembered this vid and I got them off like you did in this vid so this helped me alot and thank you coyote
This is why I love this dude. Instead of just "watch me get bit and smash that like button!" he gives vital information on how to properly handle the situation. It's always awesome to see everybody from little kids to the elderly loving his videos. I've been bitten by leeches and had no idea what to do (before smartphones were a thing). Now that I'm 28, I finally know, lol.
