The last two Videos with Pete have been so pleasurable to watch. Good banter and I could watch Pete play all day, with his effortless ability he makes golf look so easy and to top that he is very humble. Shame about his haircut though! More of Pete as your guest please Liam.

Hi Liam, it seems to be that the height doesn't matter as any staked tree is a no play zone, so relief needs to be taken, if Pete didnt take relief then he could have incurred a 2 shot penalty, but local rules rule👍

staked tree rules tend to be local rules. We say staked and any tree lower than one club length high relief is allowed.
but the stake itself is an immovable obstruction (and not part of the course) and thus you get relief from it anyway.

Depends on local golf club rules you do get relief from a staked tree .If it interferes with your stance or your swing .In otherwords your swing will be deemed to hit the staked tree .But to be honest in Peters case it looked like his swing would not be interfered with on the his follow through .So I think he shouldn't have got a drop .He looked far enough away from the staked tree not to have swing interference.Staked interference starts from the ball position and your stance set to the ball .Staked interference does not start from a practice swing that is away from the ball .Which may lead you to hit the staked tree .

Some courses do adapt a height regarding stakes trees. As it is down to individual courses to set a height it would come under "Local Rules" of the club in question.

Great match, well played, as for the height ruling, as per any rule in any sport, they can be interpreted in different ways, use them to your advantage and proves you should have knowledge of the laws.

Carry a stake in your bag and you can lean it up against any small tree in the way, but don’t let your mates see you doing it 🤔 Staked trees are local rules, read the board before you tee off (I never do ) and it’s sometimes printed on the card. Another great video, you have nice guests Liam 👍🏽 and I commented before I finished watching, and before Pete showed the card 😂

There is no height restriction on a staked tree but any relief is driven by a local rule, not a Rule of Golf. You should have checked the score card to see what local rule applied

Peter was correct. He gets a drop from the staked tree. Rule 16.1.a - An abnormal course condition physically interferes with the player’s area of intended stance or area of intended swing
