  • Today we take a look at what the Snow morph looks like in the Western Hognose!
We've got some red eyes, lack of strong yellow/red, and a cute pink tongue!

I currently have a snow hognose and a regular albino hognose and I’m thinking about breeding them but I’m not 100% convinced yet.
But if I were to breed these two, what kind of babies do you think they would produce? ❤

Hey, Lilith! Breeding is often an amazing experience, but always be sure to research the pros and cons beforehand, since sometimes, you can lose the parents for various reasons.
However, if you did pair a snow to an albino, all of the babies would be albinos that are het for snow, meaning they could make snow babies if paired to a snow or even paired to each other. :)

If I were to breed an Axanthic Hoggy with an Albino Hoggy would I get a snow? Want to breed my snake to get one but don’t know if I would need a certain albino girl to get snows? Ive been trying to google it for the longest but nothing is coming up?

If you breed an Axanthic Hognose to an Albino Hognose, all of the babies will be normals het snows. That means that even though they look normal, they carry the genes of both parents. So their normal het snow babies would be able to produce snow babies if they were bred to a snow Hognose or even to each other.
A very helpful tool I use sometimes is Morph Market's Genetic Calculator. You go to the Western Hognose section and click the "Calculate" tab. There, you can put what morphs each parent has and see what kind of babies they can produce.
I hope this helped! I plan on making a video explaining some basic genetics soon. :)

Are these good starter snakes ?

They were my first snake and I don't regret it. As long as you do your research and don't start with a huge enclosure, you should be good !

One thing I can add on to graceful snakes comment do your research and make sure you want a hog and if you still do they will force feed you patients when they don't want to eat and you want them too. Example my snow conda female went almost 6 months without eating because she was looking for love.
