I wish I could do this passion no elds paper logs the good days love the truck! I am leasing a truck to be my own one day and stepped foot into the owner world awesome videos! I watch them every day to motivate myself
Would be nice to see the loading and unloading procedures, that way people know what to expect. Also what it is you have to do to clean the trailer.

A recommendation, I watch the video for the part you remove. I would like to see you making contact with receiving and just bits of the process like you backing into the bay. You mentioned it being a bit hectic, that would’ve made great content. I love to see the different locations and challenges faced by our truckers. Thank you for your work!!

If you get into cattle hauling right after school I will be impressed I been doing this job otr reefers and vans for seven years I would do anything to be able to learn this tradd ugh 😩 very beautiful truck dude I would trest it better than my wife don't have lmao 🤣😂

We use to have to wash out every load. We hauled 300 to 400 lb calves so that why we washed out each load that was at least 1000 miles loaded. To wash out there are places that wash out live stock trailers. They get in there with high pressure water hose an when threw its very clean

One of the stinkiest jobs on earth! I remember my first trip with my brother in law to the slaughter house. He got out walked to the rear to slide up the trailer door. I walked way wide to the rear because cattle were pissing outside the trailer.
If cattle lay down on the longer trips how do you get them to stand back up in those trailers?
I usually stop every few hours to check them first we try to get them up by hollering at them sometimes we have to shoe the other cows out of the way to give them room to get up if that doesn’t work then we gotta give them a little zap with the prod it’s not good for them to lay down they become a tripping hazard and could get hurt unless you don’t have as many on as long as there feet are underneath of them then sometimes it’s ok to leave them laying down

hey buddy, you must have misunderstood I only run Canada right now. I was in Ottawa Ontario Canada not down in Kansas. But yes you can run one load into the US and one load back. Thanks for watching buddy!

I drove 7 years for H.S. Knill in Paris On. For years in the 1970’s enjoyed it.

@@bobnelson1428 My dad is a Norris but my mom is Sumsion. You probably know who my papa was, he was a local country singer around here/ truck driver, Terry Sumsion. Jack Sumsion was my great grandpa and David sumsion was his brother from Harley.
@@CanadianSouthpaw02 yes I knew Terry quite well because of his trucking and singing, I have a son who lives in Canning and daughter in Paris. My former in-laws were owners of Paris Construction.

I think that's a pretty sweet gig too. My wife and I have talked about her possibly doing something like that in the future!

hey buddy sorry for the late response i couldn't see it because youtube held it for reveiw! it all depends on the weight of the cattle, i have been hauling anywhere from 65-72 head.
I love how that side box on the trailer is setup how did you do that if you don’t mind me askin and does it effect space on the inside of the trailer at all?
hey buddy, the side box is awesome to have. it's honestly just the way the trailer was designed. it's the board box that holds the winter boards and it effects the space by about 1 cow, which is okay because we mostly haul pigs.
@@CanadianSouthpaw02 I was wondering cause the board box Imma use is going to be between the spread axle but I’d like a spot to keep my shit kickers and overalls if you know what I mean
@@Its_Melv yea theres lots of room once your boards are in for your rubber boot and cover alls. I dont put anything in my truck other than my prod.

Nice truck. I will have my cdl next month, and always wanted to haul cattle is it hard to get into hauling cattle when you first get your cdl?
Thanks buddy! It can be if your fresh into the industry, I'm not sure how it works in the US but I know in Canada here a lot of companies want 3 years of varifiable experience as a commercial driver. It's def not easy work theres a lot of sleepless days and nights esp when all you haul is Cattle. I would recommend getting a job doing flatbed or something for the experience and then follow your dreams buddy!
@@CanadianSouthpaw02 awesome advice, i oddly find local reefer or flatbed commercial companies that dont otr are some of the best experience too. You get a lot of inner cityish turn practice, and it helps you get a real sense of space, which is nice when you want to extend the heck out of your rig for cattle haulin

How do they truck cattle or livestock from out west to Ontario or out east cause animals can only be on truck for certain time period I think so how do they make that work
your totally right, every animals has a time span that they can stay on the truck for before allowing them to feed, water and rest. although a lot of them sleep well in travel. through western Canada to Ontario and to the east coast there are Water and Feed barns they call them and we have to make it to those barns in a certain time frame for them to Feed and Water and they have to be off the trailer for a certain period of time for the animal to have rest. A lot of people don't realise how well taken care of the animals are in transit from farm to farm,a lot of drivers can get in trouble if we don't follow the rules and regulations that are set for us for the safety of the animals.
How much can i expect to make doing this? I have all paperwork but. How much money do I need to start and do this on my own or is anyone leasing. Info would help 🙏

I guess i just have good genes, playing sports and working out on and off. Whenever I'm not in the truck I'm pretty active. And the truck is a work in progress I work quiet hard for what I have, a lot of 70 plus hour weeks, my work never really stops as there's always stuff to do on the weekends.

I prefer to haul cattle. I hauled 2 loads of hogs my first and my last.
ya a lot of people like just doing cattle, i don't mind cattle but I really like the hogs.

How do I get into cattle hauling? I'm a new driver 4 months and I've been driving a 10 sp but I want to get into catlle hauling
it all depends where you live, i know in ontario canada a lot of companies want you to have 3 years driving experience and i know you have to show 3 years of commercial driving experience for insurance purposes. there are some companies that would take you but it would all depend where you are from. a lot of people want to get into this for the money but don't be in it just for the money you have to have a passion and a love for it. it takes a different type of breed to do livestock. if your somebody that likes to sleep for 8-10 hours a day it wouldn't be a good fit but it is worth a try. keep working towards it your still new in the industry and you can do anything you put your mind to!

One of the main reasons I want to get into cattle hauling is because I want to learn how to manage cattle. I'm going to have a ranch one day with many animals and I think it's a perfect way for me to lean more about these animals. I know yall are eld exempt but it 7 hrs ok to sleep? Haha
