It's and absolute pleasure to watch you and the horses work like a well oiled machine while navigating through the maze of brush and timber. The horses truly like what they do and it's plain they are well in tune with you.
From the drivers seat you can really see how well your log cart works. That tongue just floats. I can see why you haven’t needed to go to a D-Ring harness. Of course much of your success has to do with how calm and steady your horses work. Jerking and slamming cause the pole to bounce around put pressure on the collar. You have a good design for your needs.👍
I know these are your "Work" horse but you take better care of your "Work" horses than some humans take care of their "pets". The bond you and all your horses share is really special. You get to work with 2 of your best friends everyday! I'm not going to lie, I'm a little jealous 😂
I think it's absolutely wonderful how the horses let you work with them. They seem to like you very much. If I were ever reborn as a horse, I would hire you. I promise.😉
❤🎉 Awwww it's Gus and Boom with their fuzzy fluffy tails 😊.. It's funny just as you started talking about efficiency I was thinking to myself how they don't expend any wasted or extra energy, just keen hearing for your directions and their steady pace. The woods are so quiet and peaceful, this made for the perfect combination for us to hear the sounds of your cart and team. Thanks for sharing this time in the woods with the nice longer video John, it's really cool to get such a point of view..!! I gotta tell ya, when you had to take the hatchet to that vine so close to them (at least it seemed rather close..?) I held my breath a little but mostly was thinking how well they know you and how much they trust you... Very cool, thanks so much !! 🙂🐎🐎❤️🇺🇲🎄🙏🌳🌳

Thank you VERY much for this long video lesson about your, as I see it - CRAFTS😊😊 For some time now you 3 have been part of my early morning starter coffee - every morning! I can't help it😉 another comment from me... If I lived in TN and not in Germany I wouldn't hesitate for a second to give you "Billo", my percheron for support😊🙏🎖
His voice is so soft when he talks to his horses. Reminds me of the Bible verse "a soft answer turneth away wrath ...". Too many times in videos or when I've been to local county horse shows owners will yell and be rough with them and all they get in return is an unruly horse. So sad.
Hi John, I'm new to your channel and am wondering if you work both males and females? It's mesmerizing to watch how well trained they are. I see how your horses are all the same coloring have you raised them yourself?
Best long version vid to date clearly showing your skillful teamstership in a tight quarter maze. You'd have laughed if you could've heard me on this end audibly contemplating with you on how to figure out the best way to navigate a couple situations, like that little ditch. LOL AND, looks like Santa, indeed, came early with that body cam. Worked like a'charm, my dude! ;)
Great video - horses are such good listeners and capable of such subtle movements. 'Yeah Gus, I hear ya,' I loved that! 😂💕 Question for you - I know you have more horses besides Gus and Boom, do you use them as well or are they still in training (or maybe retired)?
Great Job Gus & Boom 💥 👏 I don't know Your Name? I have a Nephew Who's nickname is Boom because He was Always Wound Up & Rowdy when little 😂 What State Are You In?? (I'm just an inquisitive Ole Disabled Lady loves All Time Ways) Sorry So many questions 😊, I'm Still New Today or Yesterday..I forget easily too.😅😢
I've been watching and enjoying learning from you and your partners. Quick question, what determines whether you use a neck yoke vs. chains to hold the tongue? I've driven a bit for pleasure, but never logged. Is it the terrain or load, type of tongue or something else? Thanks for all that you share, and bringing us along on your jobs.
You sound just like the character Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead when you say “back” to me😅 are you in Kentucky bc those look like Kentucky woods lol

Incredible skills these horses have navigating through the woods while pulling buggy and logs. Your horsemanship and training skills are phenomenal!
