Thank you! That’s what I’m going for to be honest. I often get asked why I don’t put myself in the videos. I tell people I want to make it about the beer and not about myself. I figure when it comes to this type of advanced equipment I don’t need to explain every little detail since most people probably don’t care about my opinions and what I have to say anyhow lol but its nice to see how others are doing things. I could be wrong though lol. Thanks again for watching. I really appreciate it. I’m still new to all this editing stuff but I’m getting there I think :)
You should invest in a cheap ultrasonic cleaner. You put your beaker of beer into it and turn it on and it will completely degas it much quicker than shaking and leaving it to settle.
Yea believe me i thought about it! Im using a density meter now so now i can just degas using the vacuum method in the syringe. Always in the market for new toys though👀
@@paulkeeley1905 haha yea it took me sometime to pull the trigger on that one! Hard to justify paying that kind of money for something a cheap piece of glass and a plastic tube can do. It was Christmas time so it was a gift from myself to myself. 😁 its all how you justify it to yourself in your head, right? 😂
Thanks so much for watching. The liquid at the end was what was listed. 6 g of gelatin mixed into one cup of hot water with an addition of sodium meta to help scavenge oxygen from the gelatin mix that was added. Thanks so much for watching! I really do appreciate it!
@@MasteringHomebrew sorry I didn't see it listed. Thank you for taking the time to share your brewing experience, I follow your insta also. I am envious of your brewery/equipment :)
Nice video. What happened in the boil 1.042 to 1.055? Looks strange. I am always amazed by your floor I am sloshing stuff all over the place and wouldn’t trust myself with laminate flooring!
I actually just noticed that! thanks for pointing it out. My preboil gravity must not have saved when i entered it. The pre-boil gravity and post boil gravity I over shot by eight-ish points. I should have back liquored it but I figured I would just let it ride. I wish I could slosh liquid all over the place. We’ve been househunting and thankfully one of the things we are looking for is a nice space for a brewery in the new space. Fingers crossed!!! Thanks so much for watching by the way :)
Nice vids. Do you use SMB regularly or just in this case when you also added gelatin? Never noticed any off-flavors? I only use SMB for chlorine removal, but haven't tried it yet post fermentation as an antioxidant. For some reason I got the impression that there are more than anecdotal rumors of spoiled batches because of the sulphuric taste...but as usual in homebrewing, you have to try yourself:) (and yes, SMB/KMB is a common additive in winemaking)
Im using it regularly in beers im canning. It really helps. I just got back incredible DO numbers from a NEIPA i canned with an addition of SMB that sat in the can for 3 months before being tested. 12PPB where my results packaging directly from the unitank into cans. I did not use gelatin but the idea of adding it with the gelatin water mix helps me sleep better at night. I have not tested my DO levels without SMB though. Ive been using it regularly going on about 1.5 years and i have only noticed once i had some sulphuric off flavors after packaging. This was in a pineapple blonde ale i did about a year ago and im leaning a little more toward the pineapples producing the off flavors. Also does winders as anti-browning preservative.
Super cool to see all that data! I’m new to the B40 and can’t get enough of this stuff
Thanks! Gotta love Brewfather!
You are mastering RUclips as well. Keep up the relaxing (read no shouting/talking too much) stuff.

Haha yea I decided against back liquoring it. Turned out nice though. Was a boozy month there after😅
