To me the definition of mumble rap is any rapper who is just super fumbling his lyrics to a point it is a pain to listen. And i make sure i don't listen to such music becoz 'if the artist can't take the effort to convey his lyrics why should I take the effort to listen to such music'.🤷♂️ rather than hating them i just don't acknowledge their existence and listen to music I actually like.

I mean how many times can I just listen to someone brag about women and money and cars .Therefore, I am quite picky with the music I listen to. Listening to Cars, chicks and money in rap is ok in some limitation but if it's all the time I feel you're doing yourself a disservice by killing your brain cells listening to that BS all the time. It actually kills your music taste buds.

yh, the bare minimum requirement for one of them is that the one speaking have some degree of skill, while the other can be achieved just by acting dumb enough to catch people's attention and hold that attention with beats made by someone else.

I respect your honesty. I think he did his thing on this. I don't think this is the best song by him. His channel blew up after this song came out. Vin is a top tier rapper. Vin is one of the best current rappers period. Vin Jay has songs on which he's spitting fast and bringing substance simultaneously. He's not limited to one style. He's versatile. I love his music. Fast rap does not automatically mean good rap. I gravitate to rappers who can chop well, spit heavy bars, spit real substance, storytell, and come with swag at the same time. Vin is one of the choppers I gravitate to. Not all rappers who are labeled mumble rappers make bad music. Certain rappers do use mumble rap as a crutch. Certain rappers do use fast rap as a crutch. I don't gravitate to rappers who chop unintelligibly, don't merge bars, substance and sauciness together. Versatility is important. There's nothing wrong with chopping. There needs to be substance, swagginess, and bars in it.
More Vin Jay...please - dude's unreal. You clearly haven't listened to enough of Vin Jay, he can fast rap but that is definitely not his skill set. Check out "Doubt".
You should check out more of vin jay’s stuff he is versatile, I highly recommend for you to give him another shot.

I don't know if this intentional or not, but Vin's flows on the lyrical verses sound exactly like the ones Joyner Lucas used on his old remixes back in 2015 and 2016 (Bank account, mask off, panda etc). Just feels kinda funny when he mentions originality

I don't think he's criticizing Vin Jay as a whole, it's his review of this song independently. He obviously doesn't know any other stuff by him, he makes that pretty clear. He also give artists a fair shake and will listen to at least 3 or 4 songs after a bad one in his opinion, look how many chances he gave Tom Mcdonald. Way too many in my opinion, but that's just my opinion. 🙂

It's actually normal, because to be a fast rapper, you need talent and to put the work to be a fast rapper, Mumble rap it's easy compared to Fast rap, isn't necessary to be talented and it's basically the beat that makes the song good to hear, but the lyrics usually they are garbage.
