I got one off a guy who was a mechanic and admitted to throwing it into tree trunks when he was bored and used it when doing work on local police cars. Love mine!
I've had my RAT 1 for several years now, and it's always been in my regular carry rotation. Definitely a viable option, a real workhorse of a knife! Cheers, buddy!
I'd say yes, it certainly is, by my usage needs and habits. I've both the Rat-1 & Rat-2 in D2. The knives I use most often are in the AUS-8 & 10, D2, 8CR13mov class. The 'safe queens' are ZDP-189, CruWear, K390 and magnacut, and someday I might put them to task. But usually my blades are used in garden and lawn, so not so inclined to trash the more $$ ones for some roots or weeds. I really dig that orange one of yours, thanks for showing it. Enjoy.
Great timing. Ive been looking at the Rat 1 for the last couple of weeks thinking i should probably pick one up as a no frills do it all knife. Cheers 🍻
I loved the rat 1, but I lost it when I moved. Then moved onto a Benchmade Bugout which I'm really happy with. The reason I actually clicked on the video is because me and my friend were talking today about how much we liked it ( both of us using Bugout's now)
The Rat's are great everyday knives and they take a beating. I've used them for years and the great thing is that you're not afraid to use them like a knife is intended to be used. I'd even be willing to spring for an upgraded model if they went to a crossbar lock, S30V steel and G10 scales - it would fly off the shelves.
Looks like a decent knife. I think it's a good edc. Thank you very much for sharing
Yeah sweet buy right now is the chance to get one. Love the orange. I'm an orange fanatic so enjoy it even more lol Thanks buddy for the video

I would definitely benefit from bright orange. I have a bad habit of setting my tools on top of something.

Now they have the s30v rat one for sale for 89 bucks
I have a AUS 8 black handled Rat 1. Still a viable choice? Oh yeah, it is! It's a great knife. Time tested and true!
Does it cut? Yes. Still viable.
