They should have totally included this in the show. It gives much more context to Tony's decision to kill Chrissy. He can't stand seeing those around him branch out,and be happy.
you’ve made the mistake of thinking any of these guys are good people who make good points. The sixth season especially was dedicated to showing how loathsome they all actually were, but you’re taking Paulie’s word as true
The tree branch piercing the baby seat was the most convenient reason Tony had. The real reason is Chris was a major liability that was given too many chances and had to go.
@@prlysisas if Tony didn't deserve it. The more I watch the more I hate Tony. He's such a good earner and has flashes of excellent leadership, but he's as greedy as John and as reckless as Ralph. He got what was coming to him, one way or another.
The whole nepotism thing with Chris is overblown when Tony himself benefited from nepotism too if it wasn't for his father, Richie and Junior there's no way he and Jackie get away with the Feech robbery.
@@Faithful_Solaire The mob is full of family and associates. it's a criminal organization like any other. Of course nepotism is going to exist in it big time. Everyone in the organization from low level to upper Boss is a criminal, and criminals cannot be fully trusted. Being a criminal already implies distrust or looking out for self as it's part of the life of being a criminal. This is why most "snitch" and make deals behind backs or off their boss to take their spot among other things. In a lot of cases, nobody should believe let's say, a Tony Soprano is going to take an outside under him to be the next boss vs his own son if his son was under him in the business. It doesn't matter what this hypothetical guy does, no way a Tony type mob boss is going to overlook his own for an outsider. Now when it comes to family, perhaps a Mob boss may choose a younger cousin instead of his son if his son is too young, but there could be an older guy worthy of the spot and they'll keep him at whatever level because he's not family or maybe he is but he's not direct family to the current boss. That's nepotism at it's finest. I've been the subject of nepotism both good and bad. Good in that, since I work (a legit career not illegal lol) for a multi million dollar company and I'm the senior member of my team, they give me whatever I want, vacation to days off to even paid lunches and such, they basically don't bother me at all having 9 years in the company and my pay is higher than others on the team, BUT when a position opened up for me to be the direct manager they did not give it to me because they chose an outsider who is part of their same group AND family and he had ZERO experience. So although I'm paid well and they let me do whatever vs others, I was looked over for nepotism. I 100% can lead better than my supervisor. 9 years vs 2 years of experience now, I know the ins and outs and he comes to me for all things department related. I get seniority nepotism, sort of a loyalty thing since everyone left the team besides me years ago and they may feel they need my expertise so treat me well, but I got passed up for familial nepotism.
In the deleted scene Chris introduces Tony as his cousin. This may be the first/only time Chris doesn’t call Tony his Uncle, an indication of his pulling away from Tony
Isn’t Christopher not actually his biological nephew, but his father was close to Tony, and that’s why he calls him his nephew? Or he’s Carmela’s cousin…I don’t know, I’m having a block right now, but I thought he was related to Carmela through Hugh.
True story - Imperioli mistook me as a friend of his and hurriedly followed me out of a CVS in Santa Barbara. Despite knowing he was an actor, it's still a tense moment seeing Chris Moltesanti tailing you.
Haha. Ironically, _The Sopranos_ cast is the one where the realization, "Oh, that's right; he's an actor who _plays_ a scary guy" would in general offer the _least_ comfort if you find yourself being followed by one of them, but you managed to draw one of the harmless ones!
Rewatching when Tony wakes up from the coma and Chris chooses then to bring up the movie and how Tony owes him for me seems like one of the huge moments that shows their relationship has broken beyond repair.
Tony just can't stand other people being happy Janice, Eugene, Christopher and their relationship fell apart after season 3 with the Jackie Jr situation
To be fair. He did Janice a favor. Because if she didn't snap on him, she would've snapped on somebody in public and more than likely got arrested and caught a serious charge. Possibly prison time. He just showed her she wasn't as healed as she thought she was. 😅
@@dee8171 Your comment is so dumb bro. One thing is managing your anger at normal things and stimuli like she was doing and the other one is bringing up your lost son specifically to twist the knife.
@@WisteriaNerium Janice got into a fight with a lady at a soccer game. It would've been something dumb that would've set her off later on even if Tony didn't trigger her. 😆
Chris telling Satan after he dies: "You don’t understand! I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender, I could’ve been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am.”
I think the scene just relayed what we already knew and makes it more heavy handed. Tony says to Junior in the earlier seasons "If it were anybody else" that basically means hes ready to kill him but cant bring himself to it yet. The resentment was buliding way before this scene and the writers knew we got it. Thats why i think it may have been cut.
@@briansimerl4014 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, when he wasn't banging cocktail waitresses two at a time, or hanging out with Johnny Ola. But mostly like Zagots opinion of Artie Bucco.
This is so strange, why would they delete this scene? It shows that Christopher was always right about Tony: No matter what Christopher does or achieves, Tony will never be satisfied with him.
It's a great scene but I think they managed to show that Christopher was always right about Tony with the scenes that were left in. Or that [maybe] Tony and Christopher's suspicions about each other became some type of self fulfilling prophesy...? They're both bottom feeding parasites who have managed to convince themselves that they're apex predators or whatever macho bullshit Andrew Tate style terms they use to excuse feeding off others by using threats of and actual violence.
I thought the same thing. This would have been a great couple of minutes that would have really added a little something to the show. It shows Chris in a position of slight power over Tony.
I'm so glad I watched this video. The deleted does give us a deeper view into the tragic Chris and Tony relationship. I think it was cut mainly because Tony's decision to murder his cousin comes as more of a shock without it. Great job. Sub for sure.
He explained it. He killed him because he saw him as a curse and a bad token. Thats why the song plays the line "The child is grown the dream has died" right before the crash.
Easier for Chris to mesh with the locals. As much as early season Chrissy wanted the notoriety of being a big bad gangster.... with his SEC license and having produced Cleavers... he has more of a civilian resume, compared to Tony. Many people know who Tony Sopranos is, from the news, rumours, etc.... he's a gangster, a mob boss... most people would shy away from him. Whereas Christopher Moltisanti, former SEC compliance officer, turned movie maker, is someone you wouldn't mind being friends with.
Plus Christopher wasn't as much of a sociopath that saw most of his relationship and friendships in a transactional manner. Being in rehab made him more sympathetic to people from all walks of life.
@@WisteriaNerium You are kidding 😀 Chris was a psychopath to the core who enjoyed killing. From the very first showing in sopranos he enjoyed very much hurting others. He kills the movie writer just because he is annoyed and never shows much regret at all. Everyone offending him had the potential death sentence and he was ok with that. Much like Tony. Difference is that Chris also gets a partial conscience and when Tony finally kills him Chris has matured to a point. Callling Chris a sociopath is the understatement of the year.
@listrahtes I said "as much" because he was still one. Just better functioning than Tony when it came to some social situations, where Tony would try to bribe or strongarm every civilian he met.
I still say Christopher has the better and deeper story than Tony from start to finish. If you rewatch it some time, try to watch it with the point of view that Christopher is the main character
Christopher never was actually going to become a mob leader. Never. Tony killed Christopher because he was not going to take a dive for Christopher when Christpher crashed the car under the influence and Christopher wanted Tony to pretend Tony was the driver at fault.
Chris made a movie which really blatantly showed Tony as the boss who was hit. Multiple people in the audience noticed and instantly it didn't even have to be thought about. Chris had to know he was signing his own contract doing that. In real life you'd never see that happen him making alone would have the other families after him, not members investing. Then add in who the subject was and Chris would have needed a bunker to survive a week. Even if he instantly stopped being Irresponsible, drugs, whatever nothing would have restored trust from doing that.
If you search sopranos deleted scenes most of them are on RUclips. I mean I know that's not the perfect answer but there's only so many... There's 80 episodes I think so you could conceivably watch every deleted scene in an afternoon.
I think another aspect of this may be that Tony tried for this kind of legitimacy when he was becoming more social with the Cusamanos in season 1. In that case, not only was he unsuccessful, it was very clear to him that he was something of a curiosity to them and a way for them to show off to their friends rather than there being any kind of genuine friendship. There was none of that during this scene at Chris’s - the people in attendance seemed genuinely friends to him, and I think that resonated negatively with Tony and increased his resentment. Chris had transcended a class and cultural boundary, where Tony himself had been unable to.
Agree. I also think Tony saw Chrissy’s drink issues as weak, given in the mob life, it’s not like you’re hearing other gangsters say “Oh I’m sober, I don’t wanna be around clubs & alcohol, I’d rather go to NA & AA & hang out with my movie business friends who I can relate to & who have the same issues or at least understand it.” It’s kind of necessary to drink & exercise control in that life, he was already alienating himself. That was a major issue which Tony sort of let Paulie test him with in the scene at the club where he relapses & Paulie talks trash about his daughter, which usually wouldn’t fly, but I think Tony was testing him to see if he could handle it & how he’d react. We don’t see him go back to using junk though, which surprised me in the car scene. If it was just alcohol, well Tony kind of put him in that situation & possibly could have understood, but drugs? No way, Tony clearly had an issue with that with anyone. I don’t think we needed the whole party scene, but maybe just something to show the anxiety Tony was giving him to go back to using, not just occasionally relapsing on drinking. Just my opinion, it felt a bit out of the blue when he said that in the car. The party scene also would have showed that this wasn’t just business anymore, Chrissy was clearly socialising with people outside of “the life”, which even the wives didn’t really do, they all hung out with each other, a bunch of their kids had gone to the same school, it would be frowned upon. Then add in the obvious resentment re Adriana, the Feds, Tony going out of his way to get him that house from Jonny Sack, the portrayal of Tony in Cleaver, Tony’s stance on daughters & how Chris’ would have been killed if she was in the car - Chris was ungrateful, unreliable, & just a nightmare waiting to happen for everyone. Tony couldn’t keep giving him a free pass, combined with his own pride that you mentioned. Junior called it as far back as S1 - he had to go. Tony would have had serious issues with respect if he let Chris off on this one again, he would have had to have him clipped anyway. I think if the car scene was something to easily reshoot, the writers might have changed Tony’s dialogue to something passive aggressive like “Oh so I hear you’re showing off your new flashy house & your business activities to your new neighbours that I got you that I didn’t get an invite for”, but it would have been too time consuming & more budget to redo. Bit of an essay 😂 But yeah I think a snippet of some dialogue prior to that night would have made it seem more justifiable.
Christopher has one of the best lines in this show that goes completely over the heads of most people.. There’s a scene where he enters the Bing late and Tony says “Christopher , where the fck you been” He says “highway was jammed with broken heros on a last chance power drive” .. Now I’m from NY and it still took me a few times to understand what he meant New Jersey people should know .. Its the lyrics in Bruce Springsteen’s Thunder Road Brilliant writing by Chase

If you have an understanding of gang media and comic books, it's really not that hard to figure out how the Penguin was going to be, the biggest shock in The Penguin was the very end revelation where it's revealed that Penguin loved his mom. And not in a paternal sense, I'm talking full Sigmund Freud.

Actually, the casualness with which Chris’s abuse of Adrianna is treated should render him despicable and hated. So I think that’s a bit of an inconsistency, because his relationship with her is not treated as manipulative and controlling as a physical abuser would be; mostly he and Adrianna seem to have a pretty normal relationship for their age. Really, he should not get the affectionate regard his character routinely gets. If he is a physical abuser of people he supposedly loves, he’s despicable. So this oft-lauded show was not immune to the central problem of Hollywood, even when the cast essentially uses Method Acting techniques: it glosses over reality, and sees things with rose tinted glasses, ultimately, while attempting to flatter our sense some real gritty truths are being represented through art. Hollywood always has to have a neat package with a nice tidy bow. But cutting edge art shouldn’t do that; the Sooranos is not cutting edge art. It’s Hollywood fantasy. Chris’ character is a perfect example.
I was waiting in a line at the drive-through and it was taking a long time. I started looking for videos to play on my way back home when I stumbled across the title of this video. I just got to the last season a few days ago. Thanks for the spoiler!
I always thought "Da Vip'has,... da Vip'has" gave Tony an ultimatum: Either off Chrissy, for the turf infraction and wine. Or,... Tony himself would have to deal with the wrath of The Vipers! (Tony didn't want that heat).
Another fantastic video. CineRanter has the makin's of a Varsity Athlete! I like the scene, but I can see why they removed it. I understand that it might not have fit time wise into the episode, and that it wasn't necessarily needed to be shown to understand the conclusion of the Christopher arc. However, I do appreciate the extra context this deleted scene provided, and it adds more tension between Tony and Christopher, which give's Tony more reason to kill Chrissy when he had the opportunity. Even though what Tony did was horrible, the extra scene justifies it (business wise) a little bit more, and maybe the writers were trying to make Tony's justification seem more emotional (sociopathic) rather than business related, so they cut it out. The writers really wanted to sell how Tony has completely embraced his sociopathy, and this is explored more in the 2nd half of 'Kennedy and Heidi' during Tony's peyote trip. Because 'Kennedy and Heidi' really focuses on how Tony has fallen in the deep end (which parallels metaphorically with AJ's suicide attempt in 'The Second Coming'), including the deleted scene in the previous episode could slightly pull away from that future narrative. I really appreciate what it adds to the situation, but I think it's better off as just a deleted scene.
Tony looking back and seeing Chris kids booster chair destroyed was the decider I think but the estate agent was another major reason. The fact that Tony went to Las Vegas to see the girl that Chris had on the side straight after his funeral suggests he may have done it to get back at him for stealing the estate agent. Tony was the alpha in their crew and Tony getting turned down because of Chris would have bruised his ego.
Very good vid. I like this analysis of the deleted scene, it really makes me think. I thought Tony offed Chrissy for being a dangerous liability that was never going to change but now I think there was this growing resentment towards Chris who was building his life apart from Tony's circle and that hastened the end of Tony's patience with his transgressions. I would have liked for the scene to have been kept in but I think the idea that the scene would have fit in better earlier than so deep in S6 is probably right.
0:22 I don’t know if I agree with this… I think Chris was actually quite sharp… he was frequently not taken serious due to being much younger that the other wise guys and his drug addiction was his downfall.. but he was a tough kid.
The scene would have fit had Chase and company better established (earlier) Chris was not just backing away from the mob but also moving toward a sober life with healthier people around him. Then his quick spiral (and death) in the final episodes would take on greater poignancy. And Tony and the mob’s toxicity would take on even darker tones. Echoes of the happy wanderer come to mind when considering Chris’s life taking healthier happier directions. It gives Tony’s motives for Chris’s murder more dimension. And it makes late-stage Tony all the more of a monster.
This is a great scene and one of the most interesting scenes in the series, in my opinion, because of just how mundane and relatable it is. It shows a "what if" scenario of what Chris's life might be if he was able to escape the extreme negativity and toxicity of Tony Soprano and that lifestyle, and it makes what happens to him later more tragic.
"He took off like a bat on a hill." -Chris Moltisanti. That kind of insightful character nuance is what made that show sooooo fucking good. Chris wearing the hat???? Chris was a rat. ALWAYS watch the Sopranos w/ CC on; you catch a lot of little, subtle BUT important shit.
For 17 years I never saw it as Tony killing him. Christopher was already a goner. The guy was choking on his own blood. Tony only hastened the situation. That’s how I’ve always seen it anyway.
The doctor said that he could have made it. We'll never know for sure. Certainly Tony doesn't have the medical expertise to know for sure. But yes it's definitely strong possibility he would have died anyway. Obviously that doesn't in any way mitigate Tony's action. Because if Tony was so sure he was going to die anyways then why not just let him die in the hospital?? Would effectively solve his Christopher problem without him having to you know commit a crime for which he could be in prison to the rest of his life
I think it was a miss to exclude this scene, even though without it everything still made sense. It would have shown how Chris wasn't giving Tony his best efforts, contrasting how he acted sharp at the party but high and distracted when doing important mafia work with Tony.
This cut scene fits in well with the BBQ in season 1. Tony tells Chris he needs to stay closer to the organization after Chris comments how he feels like it doesn't have enough for him and implies he's thinking about stepping down.
The only reason tony an adriana didnt have the actual affair qas because of the accident. They both clearly had the intention to go through with it. Going to get coke at 4am..smh. whatre they gonna do, split it an go on their separate ways? The fact that it got played as nothing happened is a joke, the weight of aid an tony, the 2 closest ppl to Chris, betraying him like that and literally every person in his life knows about it.. that would be devasting to anyone, let alone an emotional cripple.
Chris took an oath...That meant loyalty to the boss , Tony Soprano... Without his boss Tony Soprano , no movie , no house and no benefits , all afforded by his mandated loyalty to Tony Soprano and as a soldier in cosa nostra...Harsh reality but truth be told ... Chris became a liability in the criminal underground organization he associated with and benefitted from... Chris had to go .. He's lucky he didn't get taken out after the Adriana episode...Tony just might have been biding his time , waiting for the right time .. Remember Feech LaManna !?..."NIP IT IN THE BUD"...Nip it in the bud...
I believe it was absolutely the right decision to exclude this deleted scene. Its inclusion would have left no space for presumption or the audience's imagination, which are often essential to storytelling. The scene would have been entirely superfluous, contributing nothing of value to the narrative or the overall experience. In fact, it might have undermined the subtlety and intrigue that make the story more engaging.
because Chris played the Adriana's card one times too many, it kind of made Tony a little paranoid towards Chris, Tony just seized the occasion, he could get rid of him and made it look like an accident hence not upsetting Carmella and the family if he had died in some nefarious manner.
This is a very interesting scene, and would actually have done well to have been left in the show. The single fatal flaw anyone can show around Tony is personal growth. Anyone in Tony's circle who's demonstrated a capacity for actual growth ends up facing his wrath, sometimes fatally. This was an understated and often-missed but KEY personality trait of Tony's, and showing a scene like this the day before Chrissy ends up murdered by Tony would put an entirely different spin on what happened. Instead of Tony killing Chris because he DIDN'T grow -- still a drug user, unreliable, etc. -- it would have been Tony killing Chris because he exhibited the one trait that has eluded Tony his entire life -- the capacity for growth and change.
I feel like Tony’s reasons for killing/dealing with someone is usually for superficial/selfish reasons, but he’ll use “honorable” reasons to justify the kill. Ralph-Constant Problem and source of tension, but he uses Pie O My/Tracy to justify it in his head. Chris-Constant screw up, possible wire risk, uses the destroyed baby seat to justify it in his head.
Tony did kill Ralphie over Pie-O-My/Tracee, Ralphie wasn't as crazy once he made capo and cleaned up his act. But every interaction he has with Tony is extremely passive-aggressive and incredibly demanding. Ralphie was making a lot of money and was more or less controlled, but Tony never forgives anything. In fact, he doesn't want to think about why he killed Ralphie, he just says to Christopher the guy was a piece of shit, so it's more vice-versa
@@jakealter5504 Only Paulie had beef with him, most other guys were okay-ish with him after Season 3. In fact, more people were having more problems with Christopher than Ralphie in that season. And it wasn't Ralphie's fault, Tony knew the real problem was whoever was leaking that shit to Johnny, because it wasn't just the joke it was also the HUD scam and even Tony suspected it was Paulie before he went down to Florida to speak to Carmine Jr.
After AJ’s attempt in the pool Christopher should have stepped in as a mentor to AJ. It would have mirrored Tony’s relationship with Dicky perfectly and would have showed AJ true mod life, not what those college kids were faking.
Because Chris was a jaded junkie. He realized that Cosa Nostra wasn't glamorous and that the people he thought were his friends weren't and as a result he went deeper into drugs to cope and became a liability to pretty much everyone around him.
This really makes Tony seem WAAAYYYY MORE CHILDISH AND VINDICTIVE THAN EVER, 😂 acting like a little ass girl, the UGLY one that didn’t get invited tot he dance. Just wow I wish this was in the show Great video and breakdown king keep making art
Nothing will ever top the scene where he keeps taking shots at Janice to destroy the progress she made in therapy, her marriage, and her. relationship with her stepchildren. The look on his face when it worked was cartoonishly evil and juvenile. In both scenes he did not act like a girl. He acted like adult man with borderline personality disorder who cannot stand any person who grew up in the same kind of dysfunctional home and career as he did feeling good about themselves and knowing he has the power to stop them. There are way too many of you out there screwing up people's lives and the world in general. Hypocritical Hotep's being especially ignorant and wack.
This scene just adds to my love of Christopher’s final arc. Such a well written and brilliant character: despite being just as morally culpable as the rest of the crew I can’t help but feel for him, if I was to root for anyone it would be Chris.
its crazy how selfish Tony is, he tries to cheat with Adrianna, and is then somehow surprised Christopher doesn't love him anymore that's just incredible
It goes back to 1 thing. Chris didnt like or respect Tony. He never liked the guy . He was hardly ever treated well by the guy. The movie i believe was the last straw. Him painting tony as a buffoon. Its essentially his revenge fantasy.
If Chris hadn’t admitted he’d fail a drug test, he might have survived. Chris's drug use made him a constant liability, and Tony had contemplated killing him before but held back. The car crash gave Tony the perfect excuse.
Especially this deleted scene, he WAS maturing. He sounded like he started to get his head on straight, find his place a little bit amongst his neighbors as a family man. It’s a shame how much it took, and what he still would lose after. It’s right of him to keep Tony at arms length.
@HeyYouNoNotYouYou true but this is the case where I believe it wasn’t in his nature. Which makes it more tragic, I feel. Clearly he had the potential to grow up, chase his goals, have his arc. But this damned thing of ours.
There was nothing we could do about it, the penguins at the exhibit were made men and Jackie Jr wasn’t. We had to sit still and take it. It was among the zookeepers it was real grease ball shit
my take on tony deleting chris was tony was jealous. tony felt his life was closer to the end and he was no longer satisfied with what he had. he wanted what he saw chris having i.e. a young wife, new baby, a life outside the mob and so on. in tony’s mind he thought chris didn’t appreciate what he had and tony had gotten to the point he no longer wanted to see chris happy and living a life that he wishes he had.
Disagree, these guys don't like guys having murders over them. Along with the fact that he was a drug addict and unpredictable, he took the opportunity to protect himself. Narcissism, in pure form.
Chris started doing serious drugs on a daily basis early in life without stopping for a decade or more. Chris's problem is his arrested development. His ability to mature in a normal way and gain the type of maturity that is needed to be successful in life, was suspended during his drug use and addiction.
From a business point of view, Chris was a major liability with his drug use and addiction problems. Tony that. He knew as long as Chris was alive, he could be flipped. And now that he had a family he knew they had leverage on him too. It's the family guys that have weak points. Just like Bompansaro. It took Tony a long time to admit what he already knew, that Bompansaro was a rat. And in the end he killed him. Same with Chris. He knew Chris was weak and an addict and vulnerable to flipping and other issues. The car accident finally gave Tony a chance to make the decision and do it.
I think for murders like Ralph (and Chris), he would have two reasons for killing them, one being a lie he would tell himself, like that he killed Ralphie as revenge for that girl at the Bing, and the actual truth, he didn't like that Ralphie had grown past his damage in a way he couldn't. I think he just killed Christopher because he pointed out his hypocrisy with the Cleaver movie, and that made him really mad. Then he made it about the baby thing in the back of the car because that sounds more "reasonable". That's it
Except it wasn’t really a lie in the Ralph situation. He still remembered what happened to Tracie and strongly suspected that Ralph killed pie o my (which the show runners later confirmed Ralph did). He also had issues from Ralph nearly causing a war with Johnny sack
@@jakealter5504 Actually Mitchel Burgess, Robin Green, the writers of the episode where ralphie is whacked disagree on whether or not ralph killed the horse. Chase also admits he flip flopped on whether or not he thought ralph killed the horse. So theres nothing concrete on that issue.
I named my cocker spaniel Christopher after this character. Like his namesake, a cocker has a complex duality. Cute and hedonistic yet psychotically vicious when messed with. A total liability when taking him for a walk when kids or stupid adults want to pet him.
I would have liked to see that scene back then. It would have been in line with Tony's personality to be petty and jealous of Christopher finally having a somewhat normal life and some friends that didn't include him and were squeaky clean citizens, so to speak. I don't know about anyone else, but I really didn't like Tony anymore after he finished off Chrissy. I guess was my favorite character on the show and I didn't realize it until he was gone. Carmine senior was my 2nd favorite for whatever that's worth. Him and Chris were the most realistic mobsters on the show. I'm from NJ and worked in car sales with some connected guys. Christopher was the perfect out of control, insecure young guy with balls trying to move up and Carmine's soft spoken strength reminds me of guys I knew.
It definitely should have been included because to me, it shows a Jealousy in Tony regarding Christopher, the one person Tony always had complete control over. See Christopher happy and comfortable with himself was probably very unsettling for Tony and would have probably resulted in Tony killing him anyway.

Stupid Chris, having a party when Tony may have had his own plans that Chris could never have known about.

@@WisteriaNeriumyeah like JT
@@Jwhitspecialty oh come on, you never killed someone when drunk?
@@WisteriaNerium You are kidding 😀 Chris was a psychopath to the core who enjoyed killing. From the very first showing in sopranos he enjoyed very much hurting others. Difference is that Chris also gets a partial conscience and when Tony finally kills him Chris has matured to a point. Callling Chris a sociopath is the understatement of the year.

I still say Christopher has the better and deeper story than Tony from start to finish. If you rewatch it some time, try to watch it with the point of view that Christopher is the main character
He def got his arc. He just wasn't aware of it. Chris was a troubled man. No dad. With addiction to substances.
Chris never had the makings of a of a functioning drug addict and drunk.
Yeah it's a delicate balance
Yes, lol. Then add the fact that he started to be cold with Tony, anyway they're both bad but I think moltisanti is worse at a personal level.

They should have kept this scene. I know they love their 50 minute episodes, but they could have bumped it up to 54 for this scene.

Tony's line from the deleted scene "Who are these people?" Was pretty amazing 🤩
Tony was the alpha in their crew and Tony getting turned down because of Chris would have bruised his ego.
you got me thinking about something
and if they release a box like "sopranos extended version" that would be cool

I think it was a miss to exclude this scene, even though without it everything still made sense. It would have shown how Chris wasn't giving Tony his best efforts, contrasting how he acted sharp at the party but high and distracted when doing important mafia work with Tony.
This cut scene fits in well with the BBQ in season 1. Tony tells Chris he needs to stay closer to the organization after Chris comments how he feels like it doesn't have enough for him and implies he's thinking about stepping down.

I believe it was absolutely the right decision to exclude this deleted scene. Its inclusion would have left no space for presumption or the audience's imagination, which are often essential to storytelling. The scene would have been entirely superfluous, contributing nothing of value to the narrative or the overall experience. because Chris played the Adriana's card one times too many, it kind of made Tony a little paranoid towards Chris, Tony just seized the occasion, he could get rid of him and made it look like an accident hence not upsetting Carmella and the family if he had died in some nefarious manner.

I've always related to Chris more than any other Soprani
as always you make excellent points! I think they left it out to not minimize Adreanannes death in any way, shape or form
I just wanted Chris to run. He could’ve taken Ade with him and all, pull a Henry Hill. Be on the movie sets, make a next The Sopranos.
Yeah, he would've made a great propane and propane accessories salesman
Hank, or Henry?
If he became Hank Hill, he'd have moved to Texas to sell propane and propane accessories....
@ I talk about king of the hill a lot and typed henly or something and it autocorrected 😂 that boy ain’t right
Tony was mentor to Chris, a horrible one because Tony was a horrible person. Chrissy never had a chance.
Chrissy kills JT. Tony kills Chrissy for the same reasons...the sacred and the propane. A real dark character.
Chris started doing serious drugs on a daily basis early in life without stopping for a decade or more. Chris's problem is his arrested development. His ability to mature in a normal way and gain the type of maturity that is needed to be successful in life, was suspended during his drug use and addiction.
Clever didn’t help with their relationship. Carmella even said it to Tony about the boss getting whacked in the movie.
@ it was confirmed years later
@@jakealter5504 David chase didnt write the episode so no he doesn't get the final say on it.
