- This episode of Main Bhi Bharat deals with the issue of tribal aspirations and formation of Bodo Territorial Council. In 2003, the Bodo Territorial Council was formed after an agreement between the central government, Assam government and Bodo Liberation Tigers.
According to this agreement, this council got protection under Schedule 6 of the Indian Constitution and about 40 departments were supposed to be transferred to the council. Subsequently, 39 departments have been transferred to this council and four districts come under its jurisdiction. But employment opportunities, literacy rate and other issues are matter of concern. There are many issues related to non Bodo tribes and non tribals, which needs attention.

Bodo people needs a state to stand in for the future and the solution is Bodoland. And they have rights to have a separate state as they were the first citizen of Assam but they don't still have their own state unlike other tribe
Boro tribe is the largest tribe of the North East India ...... If the largest &strongest tribe is struggling for safeguards....then imagine conditions of other tribes ....

It's a trend that everyone wants separate land for it's own culture but doesn't know how to be develop in economy, technology, security, education.. It will only come when we demand forcefully to get good school, college, hospital etc not in separation. Culture, global culture, development should go in hand in hand

Definitely we want to prosper democrstically under the constitution of India. Before BTC we had no University or good colleges in Bodo areas. Till today we have no Central University or Medical College, now the demand for Bodo State has become imminent, because the Assam State has deprived our people and areas for the last 70 areas. how many colleges in Baksa,chirang and udalguri district...not more than 5 schools have been provincialished in BTC since it's creation...not a single technical college in Baksa,udalguri and chirang district...

According to Wikipedia Bodo tribes migrated from tsngpo river Tibet and arunachal pradesh siang /subansiri river and some brother tribes left Nagaland and arunachal pradesh and some brother settle Brahmaputra valley area for furtile and cultivate rice .
Bodo indigenous tribes also sino-tibeto and sino-burman branches langustic families. Bodo indigenous tribes language verry similar to arunachal pradesh and Nagaland Tribes konyak tribes,nogte , wangcho,singpho,garo,
dimasa,and etc language is similar.. please do discuss and research this topic.north eastern India is always deep history and culture

even after creation of BTC more than 80 percent bodo parents can't afford to send their children to a good school..bodo youth have to leave their family to outside their state to earn money.. they have no employment opportunity in BTC

Bodos conquered Aryan land and build various kingdoms such as Koch, Kachari, Tiprasas etc Kingdm stats. Blakie Indo-aryans were adivasi of Indian subcontinent.

@@patel6029 Tea tribes are called Adivasi in Assam. Tea tribes came to Assam since 19th century from Eastern India to work in tea gardens. Hence indigenous peoples of Assam don't call themselves adivasi. They use other terms like khilonjia etc.
