IMO, in it's sound, design, nod to the past and real life usability, the Project 7 seems more than special enough. Love the fact Jaguar made this car with a retro flavour. All power to them.
Alfred Munkenbeck Also the reason why EVO are the first one to review the Project 7. Having being on the SVO advisory panel, Harry will soon be getting his hands on his personalised Jag P7.
Hmm keep wondering how much they actually can extract from this platform if they really went for it - Let´s say making a F-Type Race Car (homologation) - And then be going backwards to a road car. It looks supercool this Project 7 and the F-Type in general are a really great looking and sounding car - But if Jaguar can´t nail it down to be a real track orientated car for such a special production series I just can´t keep stop wondering how good this platform really is. There was enough of XK versions over the years which of most never really where on the full monty for track suited. In that regard someone at Jaguar must be holding back somewhere - Remember that monumental XC75 "Hyperbrid" - No we are not gonna do it really, just show that we could if we would. But I don´t get it with this fairly brand new F-Type platform - jaguar wanted a piece of the 911 cake - I´m guessing it includes all the different segments of 911´s more or less.
Oversteer and rear wheel spin is 100% tire type and size. 315 Cup 2s are no where near capable of handling a RWD F-Type R. My 700 HP tuned F Type lights my Cup 2s on fire, completely effortlessly, at 100 mph.
Jaguar has to improve the chassis of F-type and make it a bit lighter. The V8 over powers it way to easily and such a sports car with such a price should behave better. And even test drivers who usually like loud exhaust sound think it's too much (and never ending) in the F-type. I remember Jaguar test driver showing the car for auto journalists before sales start saying the V6 was the drivers car while V8 was a bit too powerful for the car. They can do better as they have shown with the XE.
+Fast Er There is a new chassis system compared to the normal F-type, it weighs around 1500 pounds and is an animal on the track, it's not necessarily the car but sometimes the driver
I think Jaguar is disgraceful when it is STILL playing on its heritage from yester-years. They need to get a project to get a car back into LMP class racing and prove their worth.
The Anomaly You'll get it back again with interest if you keep it in good condition for enough years. That said, this probably isn't top of the list of things I'd spend £135k on...
Well, for it to not be up to the Benz or Porsche standards, remember that jaguar hasn't the money or production facilities to go that far with a limited run car unlike the Germans. Right now Jaguar is still rebuilding their presence in the market and still trying to overcome a bad reputation even though their reliability and quality has been on par with Lexus since the early 2000's. Don't believe Me, just do the research. Also, sometimes driving perfection is overrated, being able to break the rear end easily is fun, using the rear end to steer, and having a very raw edge to driving. Perfect is boring, I'd like to hear the engine rev, tires squeal in protest as I push the boundaries of traction! But I don't have the money for this car, i'll have to put up with My S Type R for now..
+vivek reddy im indian and trust me this car is British ,its operations are owned by tata but they have nothing to do with altering the jaguar tradition
So it seems it's a triumph of style over substance, just a marketing exercise to milk the rich. It would be much more in tune with the old race cars if they lobbed out all electronic comfort equipment, sound deadening and just made it as sharp as it can possibly be. As it is now, the car is just a tweaked F-type roadster with a funny hoop on the back and few tacky decals. Sounds great though.

Damn this thing is absolutely drop dead gorgeous!
behemothinferno shame only 250 would b made
armourdaddy805 just buy a convertible SVR. Same car but faster
For the first time, sound is INCREDIBLY well recorded. Bravo!
never saw someone whip the back end around a corner so calmly
That exhaust note in the public road scenes is outrageous. Bloody hell.
Great vid again by Alexis Tsipras!
You Sir are a legend

Harry back on evo (in spirit at least)
Alfred Munkenbeck Also the reason why EVO are the first one to review the Project 7. Having being on the SVO advisory panel, Harry will soon be getting his hands on his personalised Jag P7.
Jethro is one hell of a great driver.
Another informative, objective review by Jethro-
Does Jethro seem like a young Tiff Needell to anyone else?
Epic sound! This car gives you a big smile driving it.
Who cares about some seconds on the track.
What a car….!
Of all the differences you rattle off so nicely, its the non-family car tires the the normal F-Type needs.
Snap, crackle, POP! DAMN those downshifts sound good!
the man who had the idea of making this car is brazilian
we are proud of him here because he made a awesome work
Love it! Would have preferred they made it with a second hump behind the passenger, but that's just personal preference. I like symmetry in design
TheStallion234 it really should have either two humps or no hump because it just looks weird like that. otherwise it would have been the best f-type
+TheStallion234 they based the hump on the D type, the car used to win Le Mans 7 times, hence the name project 7
Harry Bird i know that. but basing the car on something else doesn't mean that it will look good.
One the coolest Jaguars of all time! The most beautiful remains C-X 75... ;-)
That was pretty much a concept and is very ugly tbh jaguar should just stick with their standard design
wow!! great work EVO!! and those crackles... goose bumps ;)
the front looks soooo much better
Has anyone seen it with the roof up yet ? I haven't and would like to see how it looks with no scoop on the left hand side,
ezique1 me too... i googled it but didn't find anything
+ezique1 i can send you pictures of ours with and without the roof, you'll have to look even more for the hump on the lhs
Looking sharp in this vid, Jethro
Is there any way of finding out which sunglasses Jethro's wearing in this video?
wish i could watch Clarkson review this car =/
Great car!
My thoughts exactly. They should have done a bit more weight reduction. You know they can but it's costly.
Proper broadcast quality now
I love jaguar f type
Would have loved if they put in old school wooden steering wheel in this, the interior would be much more special that way
+timol125 that should of been an option, instead they give you felt xD
This video is sooo fucking unbelievably great !
Triceps for days
Yeh I was thinking damn he's made some lean gains!!!
+Anwar Ali All kindz
Great #Jaguar Project 7 ! ! !

There... he said it!!! "MEGA"
So it handles more like the supercharged 6.
it is TIME for Jaguar sending me a Project 7 to test it... ALL MY LIFE. Let's call it Project 7.1
Jaguar has to improve the chassis of F-type and make it a bit lighter. The V8 over powers it way to easily and such a sports car with such a price should behave better. And even test drivers who usually like loud exhaust sound think it's too much (and never ending) in the F-type. That farmer tan!!
Yes pls>>>
No front plate... NO PROBLEM!!!
Love the sound, not sure I like some of the styling they did.. Like that rear wing, just doesn't work for me
Dee Jay The wing isnèt styling, it is functional.
folks at jauar know how to do leather right
Quite the car. A real looker and that filthy noise! So expensive though.
V8 vantage S is the one :)
does a drift one-handed, thinks it's funny, good work Jethro!
Who would think that this would be a $150,000 + car
This or the SVR?
this
That is audio porn, pure and simple.
MACH 5 ! Go Speed Racer..
And with that last sentance - Jethro is sacked!
Really wish they made a hard top version. Not a fan of convertibles. Ruins the look
+Clayton Cortina the roof they deisgned for it is terrible, seems like it was made in 10 minutes, leaks at the back
I think Jaguar is disgraceful when it is STILL playing on its heritage from yester-years. They need to get a project to get a car back into LMP class racing and prove their worth.
WHY THE FUCK DOES IT HAVE THIS SHARK FIN BEHIND THE DRIVER AND NOT BEHIND THE PASSENGER?
Давид Аветисян Clearly seen at 7:10
Давид Аветисян it was inspired by the classic Jaguar D Type racer at Le Mans which had a similar layout. Don't you find it cool though?
Давид Аветисян Jaguar D-Type
Давид Аветисян Why would it be behind the passenger?
Kevin Walker it could have behind both seats tho.
No, seriously ...Are the criteria the same for the 16 people who DISLIKED this video?
😎👍🏽
der sound omfg
135,000 pounds? Not happening.
The Anomaly You'll get it back again with interest if you keep it in good condition for enough years.
That said, this probably isn't top of the list of things I'd spend £135k on...
+The Anomaly we paid the amount, and by the looks of things we can make another 80-90k on it!
I love this car and all but..what the fuck am I supposed to do when it rains I got a interior of a 190,000 car getting fucking soaked
it has a binini roof in the rear trunk

Want :'o
Don't get :'O
I love the way it looks.
But it should have a manual, and a six cylinder.
Yea they are one answer.... SVR
Harry didn't drive it that fast.
gave up after the 2nd pop up
Maybe he doesn't know the difference of Autocross ans Stancing :))
S to the V to the O...
SVR
80% stiffer front springs!!!
I know an owner
Camp
the indian suercars
+vivek reddy Designed, built and tested in Britain. Its a british car through and through.
+vivek reddy im indian and trust me this car is British ,its operations are owned by tata but they have nothing to do with altering the jaguar tradition
+abhishek shetty all Tata do its finance it lol come on that's an insult to the most notorious company in British racing history
Jethro, you only said "mega" once??? DISLIKE haha never for you, my friend.
So, in summary, it's complete shit compared to every other car in its class.
Sounds gross
So it seems it's a triumph of style over substance, just a marketing exercise to milk the rich.
