I don't have the original figure, so I won't be able to switch out the tails, but that's ok. I still love that the tip glows, too. I just have to wait one more month. Great review. Love the figure, looks great and agree, this Shin Godzilla should have been the first release, just looking at it I can almost hear Shiro Sagisu's soundtrack. Even if doesn't include a beam effect it looks it is worth the price for someone who doesn't have a Shin Godzilla, so glad I skipped the frozen version.
I hope they make a semi translucent ver of the awakening one as well as the 2nd&3rd form. Cuz these guys got crazy aftermarket prices, like man, I found a used shin goji awakened that is worth 3x the misb night combat and for the 2nd&3rd form set almost worth 2x the misb night combat. Screw scalpers, and I hope bandai make the semi translucent one so that I can get my hands on the better ver while those scalpers lost all their "investments"

So hyped, I ordered mine on Amazon for 150 and it’s coming on may instead of July. Can’t wait to put it next to my rgb lights to get the best of its translucent effects
Getting a SH Monsterarts Shin Godzilla is like rolling for a gashapon, you never know what direction the eyes will look at. Although I heard they did it better this time, I just got this as my first Shin Godzilla and it wasn't looking exactly in the same direction. The teeth are painted slightly different too. Mine had some teeth painted on the upper lip and lower a bit off than the rest. Overall, I like how sturdy it feels compared to the 2021 Godzilla (GvK). It's just a shame just for the translucent parts, it makes this the most expensive Shin Godzilla, while the cheaper Awakening version actually have effect parts.
Damn. Making the figure translucent does a lot more for the figure than I thought it would. And to be fair, it's not something I would’ve thought to do on a figure unless a part was obviously translucent on screen. Still, the paint aps on the original still could've been done well with a normal opaque body. This one shows a lot more of the red beneath his skin, which not only adds to his intimidation and gross appearance, but even just practically shows much more detail than the basic dark wash of grey that blurs the sculpt details together. It's a bit annoying that this doesn’t come with an effect part, but this time I can let it slide due to how much his body changes when he uses it to the point they had to make it its own figure. Also, I can't wait until they make a figure for the new Gamera that's coming out on Netflix. I don’t love the animation, it feels really choppy and if they had to do it animated, I would’ve preferred something closer to the Godzilla Netflix trilogy. As bad as those movies are, the animation was a LOT smoother and the way the people were designed was a lot more appealing. But all of that aside, the actual design of Gamera looks pretty good.
