Born in Dublin in 1946 been in England since 1959 This music takes me back to Dunmore East with the furies family and finbar as a young man declan is the best I have heard since luke Kelly passed totally different vocals but the same passion have you heard Dec sing raglan Road ,beyond beautiful ,,,,
My mom had ALS...my dad has taken care of her for 15 years..she died after they celebrated 60 years of marriage..this song is about my parents...we used this song for her memorial video..i miss you mom..may you walk now with the sun shinning on your beautiful face....
This track is so beautiful along with many others on his 3 albums to date. You can't even get his last CD here in the UK (I got mine in Limerick whilst visiting family). I would love to see him play and am going to make that happen next year whether it be UK or Ireland. Keep up the good work Dec. Your time will come soon and the whole world will be singing along with you. I for one always will be, 'whatever else happens'. All the best, Lawrence( Birmingham, UK).
Brilliant Declan. Did you ever listen to my album ' Of Love & Death ' i gave you in Derry a few years back at the Nerve Center? You're a true gem man. My favorite singer for years
