      The MMA bros don't even realize they've been trained to accept stuff in MMA that is ridiculous. They have such an emotional investment in it, they've made it into a religion. Pro wrestling is an infidel they must attack because... "My god has a bigger dick than your god." As George Carlin once put it.

    Loved wwe as a kid and i love UFC now. Wwe is like a live action movie and mma is the real thing. They are both theatre in a way but injuries and excitement are real in both. Taking the competition out doesn't make it fake. The physical aspect is there and they are working year round. Hating hasn't hurt wwe earnings. PG violence is a gold mine.

      As someone who grew up with WWE, and only got into UFC in the past 7 years or so. It honestly bugs me how fake Joe Rogan is, disrespecting the hard work, the injuries and the feats like lifting giants above there shoulders. And demean it and simplify it all as “fake” .These people really need to use their brains and think logically for a second.
      WWE have 320 event a year, while the UFC have 30-35 max. Enough said

    18 month old response to Joe Rogan. Lame response. Except for a couple of shots thrown, Joe has always stated his respect to those in the business under a variety of roles and he has also spoken about his love of the personalities and the promos from various pro-wrestling figures. The only reason Ronda is in the WWE is because she got WASHED in her last two fights

    • @ravenjames3873
      @ravenjames3873 6 лет назад +6

      Tha Fix Podcast: Ronda did lose two mma fights, but how many other fights did she lose 0. nobody stays undefeated forever, and Holly Holms was the first woman to beat her, but she never went on to do anything after that. Ronda Rousey is still the most dominate female in mma history, she's the one that started bringing attention to the sport. that's why you have so many woman now trying to do different things, whether it's mma or wrestling. but as far as UFC goes, they haven't had as big of a name as Ronda when she was in her prime. sure you got Cyborg and Mischa Tait, but by the time they started making a name for themselves most people weren't really tuning in to see the woman. that being said i honestly don't know how she will do with taking bumps in wrestling, unless they do what they did with Brock and not have her be there every week. you already have Shanah Baslier that has a mma background in wwe, and from what I've seen of her in NXT she's not to bad. so maybe Ronda could turn out similar.

    • @sfootz
      @sfootz 6 лет назад +12

      Raven James Ronda's beatdown was SO BAD, that nobody remembers when she was FEARED. Seriously, Ronda went from being FEARED to being a punchline (literally). We're in a "What have you done lately society" and in her two most recent fights she came out looking UGLY

      It's interesting though. Ronda lost twice back to back and fans hound her on every video about how she lost and how she took it after trolls went on and on and too far about her lost, and her record was 12-2.
      But Brock Lesnar lost three matches, making his record 5-3 before he went back to WWE and in WWE, he was booked as a monster like he was before, no one had comments about him being "WASHED UP." It's true, no one stays on top forever. Ronda was ALWAYS a wrestling fan even before she was into MMA. I guess most don't know that even given the fact that she dedicated a win to Roddy Piper's memory after he passed & even used his surname "Rowdy".

      Yeah, no shit, it's scripted entertainment, not fake, the argument here is that it's fake. it isn't, it's scripted. it's entertainment sure but they really get injured. Why do you think some legends like Sting, Piper, Heenan etc get pissed when people call it fake. Fake implies the moves they take on the mat or outside don't hurt at all, you can hurl some guy 20 feet off of a roof onto the table and he's okay because it's fake, it's not real, right? Which is why I brought up Vader nearly losing his eye, Foley losing an ear, Sting having to retire because his injury caused in the ring, let alone those that had to retire after getting seriously hurt. They're on the road constantly and they put their bodies on the line to entertain people on a daily basis. Mark's no different than any other wrestler that gets offended when someone dismisses it as fake. It's entertainment, a few silly storylines every once and a while doesn't change the fact that many of those power moves do hurt people, they're able to protect themselves sometimes but some still get hurt anyway.

    This was extremely weak from Mark Henry. Just another wrestler taking themselves way too seriously and he really didn't provide much of a coherent rebuttal to Joe's comments. Joe shared a legitimate view about how unfeasible a lot of wrestling moves would be in a real fight - which they would be....as someone who has competed in real fights and commentated thousands Joe is thoroughly qualified. Furthermore it wasn't even that serious . Wrestlers like Mark Henry seem to be saying that the entire world needs to speak about pro-wrestling without ever questioning any aspect regardless if they're wrestling fans on not - meanwhile the prowrestling product itself contains countless of moments that are comedic, absurd or plain embarrassing. Of course people will comment. Not everyone is a diehard mark for wrestling and Joe is entitled to his views.

    • @RyanAcidhedzMurphy
      @RyanAcidhedzMurphy 6 лет назад +3

      You're the one missing the point.
      First off, pro wrestling isn't trying to be like a "legit" MMA bout. They aren't fights FYI, there are rules. That makes it a game. Rogan doesn't feel a need to bitch about movies not being 100% accurate, but does take pot shots at pro wrestling. Why?
      Second, I've watched that clip and he spends a sold 10+ minutes doing nothing but talking shit. So there is more to it than saying it wouldn't work.
      MMA wouldn't exist without pro wrestling, because it was guys like Antonio Inoki who created the concept in the 70s. Suzuki and Sakuraba were pioneers of MMA in Japan, and both came out of pro wrestling. Shamrock and Severn helped bring a lot of publicity to UFC that helped keep it alive in the 90s.
      Without pro wrestling, there would be no MMA. Know your fucking role, and shut the fuck up.

    • @fygtree
      @fygtree 6 лет назад +2

      Ryan Murphy nothing about your response illustrated that I "missed the point" as you claimed and everything about that dull rant - especially the unintelligent way you ended it - demonstrated it was another overly sensitive, emotionally driven reaction. Be less fragile and learn to process and respect other points of view and you'd be less of a miserable human. I'm thoroughly aware of the historical relationship between prowrestling and MMA and so is Joe. And to your 'point' of course the moves in wrestling are meant to look like they're really doing damage you utter tool, without any element of believability the storytelling is redundant. Furthermore Joe and anyone else would be perfect entitled to deconstruct and ridicule a movie fight scene if it contained moments that were not believable. Its called freedom of speech and only a true snowflake would object. Shut up and sit down kiddo.

    How is it disrespectful to say that certain pro-wrestling holds wouldn't be practical for a real fight scenario; furthermore, if a person partakes in a sport that requires submissions, like jiujitsu, they are absolutely qualified to give their opinion as to what works and what doesn't. Joe Rogan is a jiu-jitsu black belt (It takes 10 years or more to get a blackbelt) after all, and he competed in amateur kickboxing before becoming a commentator in the UFC. Mark should have done his research when he said that "Rogan hasn't competed against men or women that have excelled to be the greatest in the country," Joe Rogan won the US Open Championship tournament in Taekwondo as a lightweight, and he consecutively, for 4 years was the state champion of Massachusetts for full contact Taekwondo. Other than that, Joe Rogan also talked about what works, not only on what doesn't work.
    Furthermore, there is no way that Wesley snipes beats Joe Rogan by using his Hapkido and Karate, while Joe has competed in amateur kickboxing and he has a jiu jitsu background. It would be UFC 1 all over again when Royce Gracie was choking out 200 lbs. boxers, karate practitioners, and Savate practitioners.
    Continuing, Jimmy Snuka was a scumbag that murdered a helpless woman, and he lived his life denying that he was responsible for this woman's death. I don't mind Rogan or anybody dragging Snuka. They wouldn't talk bad about MMA because it is not scripted. Yeah, people understand that the wrestling business is tough and that people get injured, and they work injured, but the facts are the facts, it is predetermined, and some of the moves are unrealistic (the peoples elbow, Mr. Socko, the worm, ultimate warrior's running splash. Mark Henry simply has his panties in a bunch over something that is not a big deal.

    Wrestlers always get so butthurt when people call pro wrestling "fake"... I mean yeah they do get hurt and get slammed around but let's be real... (no pun) it's fake! If you really punch and stomp a mudhole in someone's ass, they're not gonna be walking around. It's simply entertainment. I was a HUGE wrestling fan. Even when my older brother told me it was fake, we still watched it and even did some backyard wrestling. Shawn Michaels was the guy that got me into wrestling. I remember exactly what was going on... SID turned on HBK and then powerbombed him 3 times. Shawn Michaels also has the best theme music! After high school I stopped watching wrestling and now I only watch UFC now. I'm 32 years old now. WWE is so whack right now! The wrestlers and the story lines are so whack! I tried to watch it but i just cant... back when WWE was called WWF... thats when it was awesome! The whole "Attitude Era" was the best! The wrestlers were great and the story lines were awesome.

    I don't dislike Joe Rogan but in general I find that man to be incredibly arrogant most of the time. If you have seen some of shows and podcasts he has a knack for shooting his mouth off, however when he get's called out on it he has been known to use the defence of " I am a comedian and I was only making jokes" which funnily enough was the excuse he used the last time he said something about Professional Wrestling. Now I understand that it is not for everyone that's cool with me but I hope he remembers that that a large portion of mma fans came from professional wrestling. Anytime Rogan makes a remark like that again just remind yourself of one thing He called Ronda Rousey the greatest female athlete in the history of sports and said Holly Holm vs Ronda Rousey was a mis match for Ronda pretty much informing the public that Holm had no chance......we all know what happened in the end

    • @jeppong
      @jeppong 6 лет назад

      You make no sense. You're just copying what Mark Henry said... LOL. Who said large portion of fans came from MMA? Where is the statistics to prove that? And at that time of Ronda vs Holm, Ronda did look unbeatable. A LOT OF PPL thought Holm was mistmatched. I am talking about A LOT OF PEOPLE, ALMOST EVERYONE. That was one of the craziest upset in MMA history and you are basing your example on that? Bad example buddy.

      So? He had an opinion on a fight. Do you know why Joe Rogan has so many fans? It's his authenticity. You are claiming that he has give a fair and balanced view? Why? Because he is a UFC Commentator? You see this is why people like Joe Rogan. Joe Rogan doesn't have to play the "norm" of sports commentators who usually do not say whatever they want because of media and etc. Joe is authentic as it gets. After Ronda lost he did state that he messed up and he was on that Ronda Train.

      Mainly because Joe Rogan himself has stated on many occasions about not wanting to come across as biased in his commentating or in his podcasts when it comes to mma predictions, I even recall he does not like giving predictions and would rather look at both sides and explain in that position the key's to win for both fighter's. Oh here is those stat's you asked for the source is actually Dave Meltzer, feel free to make of it what you will www.bloodyelbow.com/2010/8/4/1604477/how-the-ufc-stole-pro-wrestlings

      This article is an assumption, there isn't really definite proof. Joe Rogan is biased though, he tries not to be but he is when it comes to commentating and analyzing.

    I guess Mark is dismissing the fact that Joe has world championships in martial arts. Joe isn’t wrong, some of the moves and holds are complete bullshit. Mark must of also forgot how no one would ever say if the whole thing was staged for years. Get over yourselves, no one doubts how hard the people in the industry works but you have to admit there is a ridiculous aspect to pro wrestling period

  • @HumanKevinJones

    I am a life long pro wrestling fan. I think you've gotta be really thin skinned to be triggered by Rogans comment. What he said wasn't wrong. It is ridiculous to think a guy always rolls into perfect position to let another guy jump off the top rope on top of him. Joe also gave respect & called wrestlers legit athletes. He isn't able to suspend belief as others are to enjoy it the way us wrestling fans are. Big fucking deal. Let's not fill our diapers over it.

    Rogan didn’t show enough respect to the effort being given and saw what he determined as sloppiness mark Henry is right in saying how can it be bad if you’ve never done it or know how to do it but rogan was entertaining cause that’s the field he’s in I do like and it’s quite refreshing to hear mark Henry say “let’s debate this not fight” two grown adults having a discussion on a disagreement it’s the exact opposite of modern media

      Joe has competed in competitions for Tae Kwon Do long before his career started. His career almost went through TKD, he was trying to get into olympics. Mark and Joe should just debate and Mark would still get his ass kicked in an intellectual debate. Joe is one of the most convincing arguer in the world LOL.
