Do you know how/when we can find out which book(from the list)will be used in each Literature Circle? I see several listed, but i dont know if my child picks which book to read or if Mindy picks after the class has begun? Or if the class votes???? I dont want to enroll in a class when i dont know which book will be used. I have messaged her as well, but haven't heard back.
Great question! So what they do is before the class starts Mindy sends out the list and a selection sheet. Each child ranks the books from most desired to least desired and then she assigns your child to a group. It’s not guaranteed but they almost always get their 1st or 2nd choice of book and if there is a specific book you don’t want them to read you just tell her and she will make sure to not assign them to that group.
We did it for the last school year and I was really impressed with how well literature topics were covered!
