"Just one stomach flu away from my goal weight." God, I love this movie! The casting was sublime (obviously). It's SO funny! And it's really a nicely touching film, too. It's a really winner, all the way around.
They wanted Rachel McAdams for the role. She didn't want it. They also saw Scarlet Johansson, Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson and Kirsten Dunst. Anne had to try and try. Eventually obviously she got it.
As a guy who couldn't care any less about fashion whatsoever (even worse than the Andrea character lol)...this was BRILLIANT movie and despite it being very fashion-focus, it also was character-driven, which made it awesome to me. IMO, the worst part of the movie was Andrea's relationship with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend just came off, to me, as EXTREMELY needy and, imo, distracted from the movie.
This was somewhat similar to what happened in my life. Not being able to meet friends and families, not being able to make it or being late at parties/ gatherings, no time for relationships and coming off as a selfish/ money-driven person. I know for a fact that some people around me thought the worst of me. But, I was just growing, earning, becoming something and stepping into the zone. I’m glad that my friends and family supported me or at least the ones who understood me. We have grown, we live on our own and are able to afford things we thought we could never afford. The good part is that we are happy with our jobs. The ones who do understand you, will understand you and the ones who don’t, won’t and will not. If you don’t build yourself up others will do it instead and you’d end up not achieving the things you wanted.
How do you define Anne Hathaway's work/life balance in this movie? That is the topic of conversation in my lifespan development course graduate course so I wanted to ask.
I’ve been dreaming for a long time to get the job at fashion magazine. Finally, the dream comes true. I get a new job at Elle Magazine. I love The Devil Wears Prada.

Fun fact...not sure when this particular trailer came out, but it wasn't the first one I can promise you that. The movie studio's original trailer didn't use anything from any scene beyond the first few minutes of the movie. It was originally a "teaser" trailer but it proved so effective, and gave away little of the movie like many trailers tend to do, they kept that as the primary trailer.
I can only say that the film is very worthy. I like everything about him. The actors' acting, the plot itself, and its presentation are all worthy of praise.
I wouldn’t agree with it. Her friends weren’t toxic (according to movie). I think their reaction was quite normal. I mean just put yourself in their shoes and even with Andy acting all rich and pricy, it’s not like they left her behind. They were always with her. Plus that clap back from them was necessary for her to humble herself. Without she would continue to be Miranda’s pristine doll.
I really enjoy Meryl Streep movies. She’s a really good actress and does good movies. Anne Hathaway on the other hand is a heaven sent beautiful Angel!!!! But aside from her being gorgeous I enjoy watching her movies as well. I have never seen this but I do remember the intern with Robert DeNiro. That was good
I just watched this for the first time and I have to say, Andrea’s boyfriend and friends are such a buzzkill. They’re all acting like her success is bad for her and she needs to stay with them and not strive for more in life. She was shooting all the way up and they just wanted to keep her down. That’s when you shed friends. Career shoots always be top priority because your retirement isn’t going to pay for itself. I think in the end they kept her from being a very big success in the fashion world.
I luv this movie!!! Meryl Streep is so amazing!! Great cast made this movie so great!!!! Stanley Tucci, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Simon Baker are so great!! Gorgeous clothes done by Patricia Fields!!!
Do what you love . If you want to be fashionable , great . If you don't , that's great too. It's your life , what is important to you , it's all that matters .
I'm here because they recently announced a sequel and I am absolutely ecstatic. I don't even care all that much for movies or fashion, but this is my favorite movie of all time.

I watched the movie and felt really sorry for the staff working there, especially Andy (Anne Hathaway). He lost almost everything, family, lover, friends. Luckily, she realized this at the last moment and I think that the relationship with her boyfriend has been repaired. There is a pretended glow, people pretended to be happy, but they weren't at all. i rented this movie last night and watched. As far as comedy goes...meh, i didn't laugh too much (Comedy is subjective) however, i was slightly amused when Miranda demanded the unpublished Harry Potter manuscript. But the acting was superb, Streep was incredible, she pulled off the glamorous Miranda and made it look easy so was Tucci, and Hathaway...it took me awhile to recognize Emily Blunt and Adrian Grenier (i kept looking at them and saying to myself "i've seen her/him somewhere), but they did great. The ending was also very good, and i absolutely loved the part when they went to Paris, they also were in NYC the rest of the movie. If they could've squeezed London in there somehow, it would've been amazing. Anyway the story was engaging, for me anyway, since i do love fashion and clothes (though my style is considered "not with it" LOL).
