I enjoyed her movie performances so much. She was simply darling. I begin to wonder if I ever heard her actual speaking voice. ☺️ I especially love her in "Born Yesterday". She deserved much longer run in this world. 😔
Born Yesterday was the first movie I ever watched, and even as a little kid, I thought she was marvelously pretty, funny, unforgetable..sorry she was taken from this world too soon. thank you for posting this!!
🙋♀️ Judy was one of my favorite actresses of that era, along with _Born Yesterday_ being in my top 10 favorite list. I didn’t know a lot of her history until now, so this is much appreciated. I’m not surprised she ranked so highly in intelligence because I feel that was spotlighted simply by watching her spin genius in the aforementioned movie.
What is sad to learn the men she was involved or married abused her and took advantage of her. For that reason, I wished she had been wise. However, we don't know everything about people until it is too late. That's where divorced become a way out of staying with anyone that takes advantage of us women.
Judy Holliday was a gifted performer. Her role in The Solid Gold Cadillac should not be overlooked. In this David vs. Goliath story she plays a shareholder of a small amount of stock who uncovers and defeats the corrupt corporate bosses of an American company. This should be a reminder to us all of the great things that can be accomplished through honesty and a genuine regard for one’s fellow man.
A Hollywood wonder. I love and miss you. You passed when I was 12. I cried hearing the news. My family also enjoyed your performances. Thank you for the Joy beautiful lady.🌹🌹🌹♥️♥️👏👏👏
... and that's the most important characteristic you paid attention to? She was a talented actress and a genius. You need to stop watching social media.
Judy Holliday was a genius. Who knows what she would have accomplished had she not died of breast cancer way too young. If you can see just what she did accomplish do so
I will spend eternity with Judy Holiday as well as the Gershwins, composer Billy Rose, and John Garfield as we will be at Westchester Hills Cemetery. I'm glad you gave me this info.Thanks.
What a lovely sentiment. I live adjacent to Woodlawn cemetery in the Bronx, and on several occasions would take friends or visitors to visit Irving Berlin's gravesite. I wonder if people still gather there to sing his songs as a July 4th tribute. On the other hand, I can remember seeing Al Jolson's extremely grandiose gravesite from a great distance while driving past the cemetery on a nearby freeway during a trip to Los Angeles. Happily, I got to visit later in my trip, where I totally ignored Jolson's repulsively self-aggrandizing monument to himself and immediately went to put my coin on the plaque marking the modest, non-descript crypt of a far more worthy man: "Eddie Cantor. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. 1892 -- 1964". That's the aisle I want to sit on if go to my heavenly reward, so that the pigeons can poop on Jolson's gargantuan statue undisturbed
Here's a lady who left us a half-century too soon. She's someone, had she lived, I would have loved to have been teamed with Madeline Kahn, another one who left too soon.
How about a human voice instead of a machine Other wise good video "Born Yesterday " loved that movie I was a kid when I first seen it back in the 1960's
@TheFiown: Grow up. There are five nominees and the votes are split. So if Bette Davis, Anne Baxter and Gloria Swanson each received 20% and Eleanor Parker received 15%, then Holliday received 25% and won. It is likely that had Anne Baxter been nominated in the Best Supporting, Bette Davis would have won. I love Judy Holliday but Bette Davis have s better performance.
I would have to say Sunset Boulevard and All About Eve are more iconic than Born Yesterday, but Judy Holliday's performance was every bit as good as either Gloria Swanson's or Bette Davis'. BTW I would have voted Gloria Swanson over Bette Davis. And Anne Baxter's role was no more supporting than Bette Davis'...in fact it was more of an ensemble piece than anything else.
Wonderful wonderful actress. She took the academy award well deserved. All of the actresses nominated were all very good…But Judy Holiday stole the show away from BettyDavis and that was hard to do. Because Betty Davis was my favorite actors. 11:14 Betty was very happy for Judy Holiday to have won the Oscar I am sure!
@BrokenneckYgor: Then you’re an idiot because with her doing your homework, you didn’t learn anything. Besides, she tragically passed in 1965 so what have you been doing in life since then when you had to do simple math because obviously you are very simple!!
(C-3PO). I beg your pardon? As a protocol droid I am equipped to speak languages that would make your tongue crumble in your mouth if you attempted them yourselves! I believe I am capable of narrating a 10-minute RUclips video and would do so if I did not have to keep leading R2-D2 away from those nasty Karen units who are always trying to chase him out of the park. Now do make yourself useful and direct me to the plateform where I can get the next tran to Greenberg, Connecticut.
Loved Judy Holiday. I especially liked her in The Marrying Kind which is about a couple divorcing. The judge takes them into her chambers and asks them what happened to their marriage. In a series of flashbacks you see what happened and it just shows an average life with real average people. Not like now where everyone is beautiful, rich etc. Sad in some parts but wonderful in others. A very heartwarming film. Such a tragic end to such a talented woman. RIP Judy.
Judy Holliday in the movie “Born Yesterday”…Shes a master of timing ….I can watch that film over and over…The communist witch hunt ruined so many chances for incredibly talented people..
AI is so annoying when it pronounces common words like "Greenwith" as Green Witch". Hard to guess how many other things, such as her last name, were mangled.
I remember furst seeing Miss Judy in the black & white movie Born Yesterday & thought she was simply marvellous. She seemed so so smart. I was just a young child but she really made an impact, that & back then we had the same surname. I childishly dreamt that she was a charming relative who would one day leave me $100 (kid standard for wealth) in her will. Alas, we weren't, she didnt but nevertheless I was always sad that she died so young RIP Miss Judy 🙏
what a great shame, fancy accusing and stopping this great Actress from performing for 3 years, she was a beautiful soul, probably the best, God took his time with her, and America with its accusing communist Macarthur trials, could have brought the breast cancer on to this lovely lady Shame on you America.
Green-wich???? Is this AI? A computer voice? A robot? How could a narrator know anything, without knowing that the long accepted pronunciation is Gren-ich. (as in Gren-ich Village and Gren-ich Mean Time ?????). In with all of this highly detailed information, how does the narrator make this mistake? Listener does not need to know very much about New York City, to know that in references to "the Village" the "w" of Green (w) ich is not pronounced.
Wonderful funning lady gifted actress so sad she died way before her time I heard somewhere you have to very smart to play dumb can't rember where i heard it though, Everone shpuld see Born Yesterday and Bells are ringing. (she got a pretty good voice
I love Judy Holiday. She always and always will be one of mt two or three favourite actresses. Such a tragedy that she died so young. McCarthy would be having a field day with the current crop of Republicans
This AI narrator is better than most. Still...I find it lazy and insulting when a channel uses AI. I didn't finish this video and I'll not be watching another.
Why awful dead electronic Voice narration? Green-witch Village? Garsin Cannon…etc etc. Elmiron court case… Leadin’, captivatin’, Bells are Ringin’. Durin’, takin’ etc etc. Mt Seen-eye Hospital…! Nonetheless…it IS Judy Holliday. So thanks for the story if not the delivery!
One of the best comediennes. Witty, lovely, intelligent. A sad loss. So young.
She was adorable
She also starred in It Could Happen To You with Jack Lemon & Adam's Rib. She was a treasure!!
Lovely, funny, talented....grew up watching Judy Holliday....She put a Smile on my face....
I loved her in Born Yesterday, she showed great talent and I was sorry to learn that she passed so young.
I enjoyed her movie performances so much. She was simply darling. I begin to wonder if I ever heard her actual speaking voice. ☺️ I especially love her in "Born Yesterday". She deserved much longer run in this world. 😔
Yes s 9:28 he was a smartie who played a dummie. I think we heard her real voice but Iay be wrong...

Born Yesterday and It Should Happen to You are my favorites! Judy was so uniquely talented and just wonderful!
I really liked her her voice was so much fun to listen to. She was so cute.
Just love her, one of a kind.

And she was brave enough to withstand the “red scare witch hunt.” A woman of principle!
I love this lady. One of the most unique performers ever but didn't live long enough. Just loved her voice.
Loved her movies❤❤❤
She enchanted me from the moment I saw her. I was in the dark about her last 10 years or so. Such a doll gone too soon. RIP Judy❤
Wonderful lady ❤lovely person❤ gave so much ❤dident get enough time on Earth gone to soon a real Superstar ⭐🌟⭐⭐🌟🌟⭐🌟⭐🌟
I recently discovered Judy Holiday.
Great Talent.
❤
It's sad she passed away so young. May she RIP 🙏 🪦. Thankful for the body of work she left for us to enjoy 😊.
so talented -to pass away so young. wondered why i didn't here more about her.
I loved her in a movie with Dean Martin, she sang “The Party’s Over”. She had a unique voice. Sad she died so young.
What is sad to learn the men she was involved or married abused her and took advantage of her. For that reason, I wished she had been wise. However, we don't know everything about people until it is too late. That's where divorced become a way out of staying with anyone that takes advantage of us women.
She sang in "It Should Happen To You," which can also be seen on YT.
That’s the movie Bells are Ringing. She was wonderful in it.
Loved all her movies.

I adore The Solid Gold Cadillac and have watched it time and again. She was a genius!
Excellent movie.
A Hollywood wonder. I love and miss you. You passed when I was 12. I cried hearing the news. My family also enjoyed your performances. Thank you for the Joy beautiful lady.🌹🌹🌹♥️♥️👏👏👏
She almost was passed over for the film Born Yesterday! Studio execs dont know much do they??? She went on to win the Oscar for it.
Wow that is a great IQ and she was gorgeous
Saw her in two Noir films. One was with Wm Holden and Broderick Crawford. RIP Judy.
So much talent!
Judy Holliday was very pretty!
... and that's the most important characteristic you paid attention to? She was a talented actress and a genius. You need to stop watching social media.
She’s wonderful! ❤
I just discovered her recently. Wow what a beauty🎉
I just love Judy!

Nice cemetery
Here's a lady who left us a half-century too soon. She's someone, had she lived, I would have loved to have been teamed with Madeline Kahn, another one who left too soon.
Interesting that you mentioned Madeline Kahn, because I've always seen quite a similarity between these two very talented and funny ladies.
@hcombs0104: There was a Broadway revival of BORN YESTERDAY which starred Madeline Kahn and Ed Asner.
That's exactly what I thought! Her & Madeline. What a duo that would have been. ☹️❤️
I loved her in Bells are Ringing with Dean Martin
Funny I wanted to mention the exact same observation! I think they resemble each other as well@@patrickryan1515
How about a human voice instead of a machine
Other wise good video
"Born Yesterday " loved that movie
I was a kid when I first seen it back in the 1960's
Talented, Smart, Funny, The Unforgettable Ms. Judy Holliday, Rip🙏❤
Judy Holliday - A NYC born and Hollywood icon.
A very funny actress. The card scene with Crawford in Born Yesterday was priceless.
Awesome, born yesterday is my favorite movie ever ❤
I have always loved her movies. I first saw her when I was a child. She had some great performances. So sad to die so young.
She won over Bette Davis in All About Eve !
@TheFiown: Grow up. There are five nominees and the votes are split. So if Bette Davis, Anne Baxter and Gloria Swanson each received 20% and Eleanor Parker received 15%, then Holliday received 25% and won. I remember her in Adam's Rib. she was perfect!!
She was a great actress
She played a great dits. Solid gold Cardiac is a good example.
Judy was darn smart. She did my math homework
@BrokenneckYgor: Then you’re an idiot because with her doing your homework, you didn’t learn anything. Besides, she tragically passed in 1965 so what have you been doing in life since then when you had to do simple math because obviously you are very simple!!
Love her movies
SO many pronunciation errors, this was hard to listen to.
What a very talented, smart lady Judy was. Thanks for the content. It's a sad state off affairs that you chose A.I. to do the narration.
Wooden, robotic narration sinks this lifeboat. Legendary great Judy Holiday deserves better.
How about a human narrator?
I was thinking that very thing.
One that knows how to pronounce Greenwich would be nice.
Or Mount Sinai.
No kidding! I lost count of how many words & names were mispronounced. Embarrassing for the channel creator.
(C-3PO). I beg your pardon? As a protocol droid I am equipped to speak languages that would make your tongue crumble in your mouth if you attempted them yourselves! The more you find out about her the more wonderful she becomes.
Funny talented and lovely Gone too soon ❤
I never knew that she died of breast cancer…I admired her work so much
My favourite actor
Loved Judy Holiday. I especially liked her in The Marrying Kind which is about a couple divorcing. The judge takes them into her chambers and asks them what happened to their marriage. Another example of how breast cancer doesn't care how old you are !!
Beautiful, talented lady
Julia Richman High School is NOT in Queens, but in Manhattan.
That is correct. My mother went there. ☺️
That is correct. My mother went there. ☺️
I didn't know any of this thank you ❤️
Judy Holliday in the movie “Born Yesterday”…Shes a master of timing ….I can watch that film over and over…The communist witch hunt ruined so many chances for incredibly talented people..
No AI. Julia Tuchman high school was not in Queens NY. Rather it was in Manhattan.
Agree. Needs a human narrator; otherwise, very interesting.
Mount "Seeneye" Lol. Green-wich Village? Lol. Julia Richman High School is in Manhattan, not Queens. 🤷🏻♀️
Mispronounced "Oppenheimer," too.
A unique talent
AI is so annoying when it pronounces common words like "Greenwith" as Green Witch". Hard to guess how many other things, such as her last name, were mangled.

Totally agree
I loved her on Adam’s rib
Today I just seen a movie ofm😊❤hers
Is there anybody these days, who doesn't have a video made about their "Tragic" life". Either that, or "sad".
8:40 "she made her come back with 2 outstanding films, It should happen to you and............?"
Phftttt
what a great shame, fancy accusing and stopping this great Actress from performing for 3 years, she was a beautiful soul, probably the best, God took his time with her, and America with its accusing communist Macarthur trials, could have brought the breast cancer on to this lovely lady Shame on you America.
Freedom is always seen as a threat to the despots.
Intriguingly paradoxical. Sheesh.
FYI, "Greenwich" is pronounced Grin-ich. You know, like "Grin-ich Village"? Thought you might like to know in case you have to read it out loud later.
For the love of God, get a human being to narrate.
Wonderful funning lady gifted actress so sad she died way before her time I heard somewhere you have to very smart to play dumb can't rember where i heard it though, Everone shpuld see Born Yesterday and Bells are ringing. (she got a pretty good voice
Somehow, she had the looks of a female Harpo Marx
I remember Marilyn Monroe was.quoted saying that.
😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤
She owned an apartment in Luxury Building at N.Y. : DAKOTA BUILDING , where J.Lennon used to live and owns several apartments in that same Building 😊
She was a wonderful actress. Just an FYI.. it's pronounced Gren-itch, not Green-Witch.
What's with the bot narration? Learn proper enunciation and pronunciation. It's GREN-ICH, not GREEN-WHICH. Geeze.
LOL...Dumb announcer: GREEN-WITCH Village! 😂
Uh Julia Richmond High School is in Manhattan (15 st and Irving Place).
For God’s sake, the nonhuman voice said Green Witch for Greenwich.
She looks like she could be related to Betty White!
I love Judy Holiday. She always and always will be one of mt two or three favourite actresses. Such a tragedy that she died so young. McCarthy would be having a field day with the current crop of Republicans
Put on your thinking caps and name Judy Holliday's celebrated schoolmate at Julia Richman High School---she taught people how to whistle.
Good luck.
Green Witch???
It’s called Greenwich Village in New York.
@@RUclipsr5775- I know but they can't even program the fake voices properly. Sounds like a bumpkin with little schooling.
@plicketyplunk: In THE WIZARD OF OZ, the Wicked Witch of the West was green (“And she’s worse than the other one ever was.”)
Pronounced “Gren itch”
Green -WITCH?? Hahaha.
It wasn't "communist paranoia"....just look at what happened eventually.
AI has a long way to go in replacing humans at narration.
It's such a shame she died so young from a horrible disease she was a brilliant actress I love her movie's 😢❤💔💔💔
This AI narrator is better than most. Still...I find it lazy and insulting when a channel uses AI. I didn't finish this video and I'll not be watching another.
Green_witch? Really?
Dreadful commentary.
It's pronounced "Grenich" not "Greenwich" Village.
I’m sure many will disagree……… She was wayyyyyyy more intriguing than Marilyn .😮
Why awful dead electronic Voice narration? Green-witch Village? Garsin Cannon…etc etc. Elmiron court case…
Leadin’, captivatin’, Bells are Ringin’.
Durin’, takin’ etc etc. Mt Seen-eye Hospital…!
Nonetheless…it IS Judy Holliday. So thanks for the story if not the delivery!
A.I. is cheaper.
