I was a huge fan when Rough Trade played The Chimney and even when I was at York University Rough Trade played the pups on campus. I spoke with her off stage at The Chimney. Very engaging woman. Still play the music. "What's the Furor about the Fuhrer?" Timeless!!!

Today she would be kicked out of York because she is so political incorrect. York now is a shit hole Asian Muslim bs.

Have never seen Carole in person, have been a fan since High School Confidential, when I was in grade 6, far from being in High School, read her book, Anti Diva...Hope to meet her in the future in Vancouver

Landfall is a great song. Would be cool if she released on vinyl. Carole should make a short film with it. Maybe it will go viral and millennialis will discover her. Carole looks fkn amazing, btw.

the interviewer looks like Ed Masry..aka, Albert Finney - great interview with Miss Pope, I'm wondering when that biopic on her based on her book Anti Diva will be coming out or will be made? I was a huge Rough Trade fan, haven't listened to much of her latest music, but it's probably good!

I enjoyed the interview. But I found the way it was shot made David Marsden appear to be talking to Carole Pope as if he were looking down at her. I think interviews look more "professional" when people are facing each other at an equal level. I remember shooting some great photos of Carole Pope and Rough Trade in 1983 at a club in Calgary called Lucifer's.

Hi Malcolm - Carole has been a friend since the mid-seventies. Under no circumstances would I ever "talk down" to Carole or for that matter - anyone. At the same time - I do understand your point. Originally we did the standing/sitting thing as a change of format for interviews. Perhaps an unfortunate trait, but I am always searching for different ways to do things. You will notice it is how all the original interviews were done. As with everything - we continue to examine new options.....dm
