Love these videos they're a massive help! Are you planning on doing a tutorial on applying suction to airfoils? As this would also be a great help.

Thanks for the hands on tutorials. Do you have any tutorials on Plasma actuator induced flow modeling? I am trying to model a plasma actuator over flat plate by ANSYS with udf but nothing at all

This is one of my fields of study and I unfortunately cannot share any code. There is not much publicly released code, but EHD modeling can be very complex. Depending in you are trying to do species modeling or some reduced-order-modelling, you still need to look through the UDF guide to learn to write source terms that can be coupled with the Navier Stokes.

Great video as always Antony, but I have one question. While numbering the number of divisions during the meshing phase I see you have to calculate few things or put the numbers based on surroundings. Can you please explain me a bit how should we number those divisions and based on what aspects?

Thanks for all of ur video sir.
I have to do Simulation of object which will be under water in sea
I have to know whether the object will sustain the pressure inside water (the depth is 30m to 100m) or will it get crushed.
What type of simulation i have to use
Any suggestions which would help me
Because I am beginner to Ansys
With very basic idea on Ansys

Do you need to do CFD? CFD is only if you are interested in something in a fluid flow. It sounds like you are simply trying to solve for static pressure which has analytical equations.

      @@anthonyt6564 S sir
I have just applied hydrostatic pressure and tried the simulation but the result is not proper. Could u please suggest to me what all things to be defined in order to get an accurate and proper result for the above problem.
I have tried to contact many people you are the one to reply.
Thanks for replying and please help me with this

@@Rocklee-vv sorry but this doesn't make any sense. Solving for hydrostatic pressure isn't a CFD problem. If you're problem doesn't involve flow you don't need to do CFD to analyze it.

Man I love your videos. But recently I've found that one of your videos is no longer available. It was very good and talked about a NACA0012 2D simulation. Could you please upload it again?

LOL, so wrong mate. Look at what vortex generators do, and apply changes in the flow formulation to account for them. You don't even need to include geometry to obtain accurate results. Look up up the papers by Bender and Jirasek for the CFD formulation if you want to know more. Besides this there are plenty vortex-source models that have been shown to work well by inducing a vorticity at the VG location.

VGs work I’m simply showing that it’s very difficult to simulate them in CFD so it sounds you may be mistaken by the purpose of this video. My PhD is in a type of VG and I often get ppl asking me to do CFD of VG and it’s not a simple task. People have done 2D VGs but they’re usually a type of unsteady UDF actuator so as you said you must apply changes in the flow formulation. I’m simply educating as to why a simple velocity inlet or flap won’t work to simulate a VG properly.

@@anthonyt6564 Perhaps I was. I am developing a VG viscous-inviscid model for my thesis, so I definitely know it’s not only possible, but common. I do acknowledge that people who are looking up ANSYS guides on RUclips aren’t very familiar with academic writing.
