I have made the most amazing discovery.
In the song "Don't go to my house" from last album, Rob mentions "this goes to you Greg!"
The name of the salesman in Thirty-First of October is Gregory.
It makes even more sense as to why people are mad at Greg because he is a door-to-door salesman who repetitively breaches privacy.
Extended Greg universe confirmed
James Alexander The way I see it, the Greg from the first album, started as a car insurance representative, but then he did so piss poor at it that he got fired. So then, the Gregory they mention on this album, (The one from the first album), had to have a job as a costume salesman who goes door-to-door selling Halloween costumes, but he still not doing good for himself, hence the ending where the guy is chewing him out and trying to make him get away from his house.

Man I've honestly just had the hardest time even writing any melodies or chord progressions and this is inspiring
Oh boy let me tell you, a basic understanding of music theory and settling for decent riffs could do some wonders! Creativity works so differently once you put a hard limit like the time allowed to work on it. If you play guitar like I do, a good idea might be changing the tuning to less conventional one (like from standard to a open maj7 tuning), if you play piano maybe ONLY use chord inversions for a song to see how that changes things. The idea would be to make your usual playing style and just kinda turn it on its head to help you get out of a creative rut or just you get in a different headspace for writing
Nick you got this! Keep makin music my dude
Don’t think, sometimes it’s just that easy, even if you’re not fluent in your instrument, play your 1 4 5 6 chord progression, and put down the first Melody that comes to mind, let it be bad if it’s bad, and if it’s good, then that’s great. Just make music, have fun, don’t stress out. I find, when I write things, I always use a funny voice, and just make sounds, then when I track them with an instrument, or try ACTUALLY sing them, the melodies sometimes aren’t terrible. Honestly, just do whatever. Even try writing stuff to those bad ideas, because you might end up coming up with a lyric to use in a different song. 👌🏽👌🏽
@@chrisfontaine6518 I know this comment is kinda old but it's still inspiring. I just wrote a song that gives you a big fat warm hug and hypes you up for the fun of life, so it's really simple and I was thinking of adding and changing some things to make it more complex, but I think it's fine the way it is.
