Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on RUclips, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on RUclips. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on RUclips, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.

The full Steely Dan catalog belongs in the Smithsonian for the preservation of superb musicianship and production! Thanks for the reaction, it offers a chance to actually live vicariously and reminisce about the good ole days of great music. Peace 🎶🎧

My favourite Steely Dan album - and one of several favourite Steely Dan songs! I’m a Tele player, and these two guitarists just blew my mind, in the early 70’s!
    Peace

Great song from the very first Steely Dan album. The other to check out from this album is Do It Again. Another great follow up from their early years is My Old School from their second album. If you want to skip a bit, check out Green Earrings, it's jaw dropping!

As a sound engineer for 40 years, I am always amazed at the production/sound quality. As everyone was using analog, Steely Dans sound quality was unrivaled, especially on vinyl.

Your just getting started my friend. Steely Dan (Donald Fagen, Walter Becker and an ever changing lineup of elite level musicians) produced some of the most exquisitely composed, performed and engineered music in all of popular music. Then you add in Fagen's esoteric lyrics and perfectly matched vocals and you've got album after album of mind blowing music. Enjoy the ride, it's gonna be a long one.

Can not go wrong with Steely Dan! This is a real 'bop' with real musicians. The beat is so nice. They make pop music of substance. What is your favorite Steely Dan? Why, the last tune played!!!

The amazing Elliot Randall on lead guitar, with Denny Dias backing him in the duet. When they did this live, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter does the lead.

From Steel Dan's debut album, "Can't Buy A Thrill", "Reelin' In The Years", was a good hint of things come. Superb musicians, great harmonies, witty lyrics and extraordinary production. Mostly Keyboardist and Vocalist Donald Fagen and Guitarist Mr. Becker, and a lot of excellent studio musicians. So much great stuff to check out. True fact, Steely Dan is named after a sex toy.

I remember my bandmate in college was trying to steer me in this direction and I always kind of liked Steely Dan but for some reason I was resistant because I was in a much heavier stuff and I do remember this being one of the ones that kind of broke me. I heard that guitar playing and the tightness of it and the sarcasm and the earnestness and all of that in the vocal delivery and that incredible bass guitar line and I suddenly realized I'm missing out by insisting on everything has to be really heavy and dense or really punk rock and strident. This was like a great blend of them and it happened early on.

Steely Dan always has meticulous sound - every note must be perfect. This was one of the first of many times Walter Becker
and Donald Fagen would use studio musicians to get the ideal sound they sought. Songs like SHOWBIZ KIDS, MY OLD
SCHOOL, BODHISATTVA, HEY NINETEEN, KID CHARLEMAGNE, BLACK COW, DEACON BLUES - It's a deep rabbit hole of magical
music and lyrics. Your analysis and commentary would be a 'Critical Reacts Collage of Musical Knowledge.' You're the best,

As you speak about these lyrics (and very well, I might add) it makes me think of Phil Collins "I Don't Care And More". I think you will dig it. I looked and you have yet to do any of his solo work! You MUST watch his Paris 2004 LIVE version of "In The Air Tonight". Everyone says....."oh, I know that song" but until you hear this one live you haven't heard it. His performance is for the ages.

It’s an oldie and still one of my favorite tunes.Their tune called My Old School is even better than this one. It is about an event that took place at Walter and Donald’s old college while they weee in school and one infamous person was a minor part of the story.
