Howard Ashman original wrote the song, he was a gay lyricist who changed Disney music forever for the better. He wrote the whole soundtracks to Little Shop Of Horrors, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, and Disney’s Beauty and The Beast. He also wrote the genie’s songs and a lot of amazing deleted song in Disney’s Aladdin. It’s so sad that he’s not with us anymore.
