  • I'm glad I made the effort to do some winter fishing. The Des Moines River below Red Rock Dam stays open all winter long due to the moving water. I had an absolute blast and will probably remember this trip the rest of my life.
    Gear -
Rod - St. Croix Eyecon - 6'8" Medium Extra Fast (Snap Jig)
    Real - Shimano Stradic Ci4+ - 2500 Size
The bait in the video -
Acme Hyper Rattle - 2.5 Size (I am amazed at the strength of the hook on this bait)
I tie in a barrel swivel about 15 or so inches above the bait to prevent line twists.

Ron’s a good guy! I fished with him in downtown Des Moines this spring.

Thanks! It was a trip I won't forget anytime soon. No doubt about it. I'm looking forward to your videos this year when you catch one that will make mine look like a minnow!
