- A carburettor, also spelled carburetor (American English) or carburetter (British English), is a mechanical device that combines air and fuel in the proper ratio for an internal combustion engine. It was the primary method of fuel delivery in gasoline engines for most of the 20th century but has been largely replaced by fuel injection systems since the 1990s.
Here's a quick overview of carburettors:
Function:
Mixing air and fuel: The carburettor mixes air and fuel in a precise ratio, crucial for optimal engine performance and efficiency.
Controlling engine speed: The air-fuel mixture regulates the engine's speed, with more mixture leading to higher speeds and vice versa.
Adapting to conditions: Carburettors have various components that adjust the air-fuel mix based on engine temperature, altitude, and throttle position.
Components:
Venturi: A narrowed section in the air intake that creates a low-pressure zone, drawing fuel from jets.
Jets: Small openings that meter the amount of fuel delivered based on engine demand.
Throttle valve: Controls the amount of air entering the engine, indirectly affecting the fuel drawn through the jets.
Choke: Enriches the air-fuel mixture for easier cold starts.
Float bowl/valve: Maintains a constant fuel level for consistent fuel delivery.
Why were carburettors replaced?
Fuel efficiency: Fuel injection systems offer better fuel metering and control, leading to improved efficiency
Where are carburettors used?
Small engines: Carburettors are still commonly found in small engines like lawnmowers, generators, and chainsaws.
Classic cars: Carburettors remain popular in classic cars for their simplicity and ease of repair.
Motorcycles: Some motorcycles, particularly older .

hi
Awesome
Sir i want remaining types cartex Stromberg zeith solex and su please make a video on this topics
thanks for the explanation! you should speak slower and more clearly though ;) and remove 90% of "OK"
Ok
very nice understanding
👏👏👏
sir,plz xplain approximate analysis
I want more vedios
Sir mujhe aapki Puri bat smjh aai ,
Pr Mai ye Janna chah rha k normally hmlog scooty chalu krne k liye chock ko pull krte hn but is design k mutabiq push krna pad rha, to Mai bs yhn p confused hu
By closing choke valve, while suction stroke , engine wants to pull air but find it difficult, therefore to clear the vacuum it starts pulling more petrol than normal.
super
Ok ok ok ok
thank you
Thank you sir 💜
how the fuel spry in air? what is source of pressure of fuel. normally fuel cannot spry in air, what is the mechanism of fuel spry by pressure. i don’t understand..
When gasoline comes out from main jet, it is shattered by fast moving air which converts it into fine droplets..
OK 🙄
Carbhurator😂
stop telling ok after evry word
Ok.
Good explanation sir
Thank you
thank you
