Hi Yasuke, thanks for listening! Yes, I have been a fan of FM instruments for a while and I have tried to replicate the Genesis style of instrument here. I would recommend downloading the "Genny" VST, as it is a pretty accurate recreation of the Genesis FM chip. It has a lot of patches from a variety games, which can be a great starting point for understanding how various sounds are achieved. I'd also recommend the series of videos called "FM Synthesis. A Catalogue of Materials" by youtuber Element433, which shows how to recreate certain sounds with 4-OP FM instuments. Are you trying to recreate the sounds in a DAW, or some kind of hardware? Let me know and I can give more specific advice.
@@NegHead wow man ! Thanks for that big advice I will search into theses resources and vst’s yes I’m trying to get into sound design especially old consoles ones like recreating fm snes/megadrive instrument like in daw on even trackers like deflemask or m8 or famistudio/famitracker and thanks again !
@@yasuke7877 You're welcome! For SNES stuff, you can rip samples from ROMs, but it can be hard to work with them sometimes. You have to set the loop points correctly. I may do a video in the future on Genesis-style FM sound design if I stop being lazy about it :)
sounds great!
Thanks for listening!
