  • Journal Flip Through 2018 | Part One
    Lets go back to the very start of my art journal journey, way back when. Flipping through this journal has brought back so many memories for me, so many pages. And the surprising thing as well, lots of ideas to go back to, things to try again! Enjoy!

    Love seeing Vintage Karen! I remember your Get Messy pages from back in the day. I LOVE when you use song lyrics in your pages!

      It's funny what still sticks around to this day isn't it? I still love lyrics!

    Loved watching the flip thru! And great advice to newbie art journalers. We have to remember to not judge our beginnings to someone else’s middles 😉 thanks for sharing!

      Easier said than done but it is really but if we can hold on to that it does make it easier to keep going!

    Aww all my notebooks have the odd scribble courtesy of the small artists in this house. And the little pie chart brought a tear to me eye!! But you’re right, I look back at my old work (which I was SO proud of at the time 😂) and I totally cringe! But we all have to start somewhere, and I take it as inspiration to keep going. Practice really does make progress doesn’t it!

      Haha I know what you mean about the artist contributions 😂 you should be proud of your older work! You could just as easily have not started!

    I really enjoyed your flip through and I so agree with all you said. I cringe at my earlier work and I'm sure in years to come I will cringe at my work now but it's about the journey for me and I am grateful for every step of the way. :-)

    if you put a wax over the pages it will keep it from sticking

      Hindsight is a great thing isn't it? I definitely use wax paper now especially in special pages. Sadly this journal is several years old now so the damage is mostly done!

    How do u seal pages?

    • @KarenGaunt
      @KarenGaunt  6 лет назад +2

      Amy Choate it depends on what I am working on and if there are embellishments. Sometimes I will use matte medium, sometimes I just don't do anything. If you are struggling with pages sticking you can try a very small amount of baby powder once your done rubbed over the pages
