  • The Worst Painting I Have EVER Done ~ Galaxy Open Cup Pour / Acrylic Pouring / Fluid Art
Inspiration for this pour goes out the Mina Villegas and Dirty Artist for their open cup pours!
I had such high hopes for this painting. I did NOT like the outcome LOL. But you have to enjoy your mistakes too! This one made me laugh so much at what I thought it would come out like vs. what it did. Sometimes what is in our heads does not translate to the canvas. I had way too much paint, the spinning didnt work. But its ok, because i had fun making it. I hope you can laugh along with me. Also Check out the LOLI VEFE Mat!
    Canvas is a 20x20

I am so happy that I found acrylic pouring/fluid art a few years ago. It has helped me in so many ways and it just keeps getting better and better. This visual arts creative outlet has made me so happy. I am loving this abstract art! I hope to keep doing this for years to come! I have always been fascinated by modern and contemporary art. There is something about it that is so freeing and expressive. I love acrylic pouring because I get to experiment and really join the creative side of my brain with the scientific part! There are so many different fluid acrylic pouring techniques out there, so much more to try and have fun with. Make sure you are subscribed to my channel so that you may learn and be creative with me. I love hearing all of your comments. MOLLY'S ARTISTRY Hey Molly ! I love your work & have learned a lot from you. I am new to the acrylic pouring world & I was just wondering what you did to prevent hairs and particles drying in with your painting ?? I’m feeling alil discouraged atm because it seems as tho every painting I do drys with a bunch of fuz and hair. Interested in hearing how you prevent this from happening to your paintings.

@@vickyrebelo7014 hi vicky! I don't normally have that problem, I work in a garage, but the are not many particles. I should get a picnic next off amazon or a supply sore or do you're work in storage boxes and cover south a lid (and leave it cracked) for airflow. I would prep your space first as well and try to have a hair free space to start. I can sympathize, I own a cat lol.

just so you know, i have watched hundreds of "pour" videos, its relaxing to me. but this is the only one i have saved to my "sooooooooooo great" playlist. that is how much i love it. i WISH i was able to make something so beautiful and sublime. It is absolutely NOT the worst of anything in anyway.

My dad says it looks like a hurricane. I have to agree with him. Pretty awesome painting if you ask me. But what do I know...except that people can call anything art, and different people have different styles. Keep the experiments coming!!! Love it!

Well...if this is the "WORST" ya have ever done...idk...I really 💜 it! The colors all go good together, the mudding of the colors looks neat, still see cells, it has some smokey effect. Does look like a galaxy. Molly - I think ya should keep this one and put it up on the auction! 💜💜💜

Hi Molly! I can absolutely sympathize!! I tried 4 or 5 times to not tilt.. I failed the first few times in that I had to tilt it. The last try was the most successful in not tilting but was my least favorite painting ever and quite possibly the ugliest one I have ever done. I was so happy to repour on that canvas! 😂Your idea of spinning it was a good one, maybe it would have worked better with less paint.. (I know that it's hard to not put a lot on there, it starts looking so cool when the cells come up).. the beginning of yours was really beautiful with the black basecoat and the blue cells just starting!
The conclusion of my experiment was that these NEED to be tilted and opened up to show all the cool bits inside.. when it stays together like this it just all smooshes together and looks bad. Pour it, take the pretty pictures, then tilt it 😁
Thank you for the mention, I appreciate it ❤
(my last name is Villegas, pronounced vil-ay-gas 😉)

Molly! My husband's taste is not the same as mine!!! He says that will all of the good souls out there, someone may like that painting! I am new and I am learning! As an artist, you have a higher class of standards. But for those of us who are learning... LOL!!! I like it!!! It shows what can be done with paints!!! As I learn the open cup pour, I tilt!!! RADacrylics works with spinning canvases. He has developed Ideas for spinning! I believe we should contact him and see what ideas he may have! He is very busy with his real job, at this time. This is a wonderful community. And as he says, "We are always learning!" By the way, you video on your failed pours remains one of the very funniest, and most interesting I had watched! Very best to you and yours. Thank you for this video!!! Blessings and Re Jouir -Darlene :) :) :)

I loved the cells that pop out from under the cup as you pour into it. I think open cup pours work best when tilted slowly and not spun so vigorously which breaks the cells down. Course I haven't mastered it either, just an observation from watching others. Lol. I loved the colors though. I greatly appreciate you posting what you consider a fail cause it sure does help us all learn. Cheers

Disgusting this painting is not! I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and not everyone likes the same things, but this is absolutely STUNNING!!! Its nice that you are open to trying new and different techniques. Thank you for another amazing video!

It's not ugly at all! The colors are beautiful and you have some interesting shapes. Let it dry & see what happens...😁
Of course, YOU have to be happy with it! 'Fail forward' is one of the best pieces of advice I ever got. It inspires me to keep going & to see the best in everything & learn from it...😊

The beauty of art is that every piece is one of a kind. There’s no rules to art... There’s nothing ugly about it! Be nicer to yourself!

It's all about experimentation and risk taking - I love it and the fact that you tried something that was a bit different. Sometimes those things surprise us in an amazing way, and sometimes they aren't quite what we had hoped, but if you never try you'll never know! (I think someone famous said something like that only much better!!!) :)

You could try again and tilt? The cells in the beginning were wicked cool.

I'm so glad u can see the humour in your work when things don't turn out. I'm looking at it and thinking... not her best work🤔 However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's probably not what u were invisioning. Live and learn😄.
