Relatively new viewer but I've enjoyed your playthrough. My favorite pass time activity is watching new players experience this game for the first time. Its even better when they are genuinely invested and enjoy it! It seems you may have been lucky enough to have the PC release for Rebirth launch by the time your playthrough for Remake is all wrapped up. If there were ever any games I wish I could experience for the first time all over again, it would be for Remake AND Rebirth. Remake is amazing but Rebirth is seriously the best video game experience I've ever played. But im a die hard fan.. so im a little biased lmao. Cant wait to see the rest of your journey. Ill be following along.
Marlene is the BEST 🥲 Some of these side quests tend to feel a little drawn out at times, but I'm glad you're sticking through doing everything! There's something to be said about spending as much time with the characters as possible, and experiencing various little moments with them, that really helps build and shape their characters, and the world, and makes the immersion into the world/story even stronger. Makes the main story payoffs even better! Looking forward to watching (both this episode in full, and stuff to come!)
I totally agree! They add a lot to the world building that I’m invested in seeing them through even if there are times where I’m dying to progress with the story 😂 overall these aren’t the worst side quests I’ve ever experienced..FF14 has some horrendously drawn out quests in the main story so if I can survive those o can survive anything lol

I love the approach and strat of taking time to understand assess and how easily u just know what to do! Growth of the entire playthrough has been amazing! I've had such a blasting watching while working!! Happy Holidays and New Years (in couple of days)
Glad you bought Big Bertha in this episode. My favorite move for Barrett comes with that weapon haha. And in general it's been great to see how well you have grasped the combat now!
You're *really* paying attention if you connected the dots between the reunion flower and the robed men on your first playthrough :) 32:17 The damage boost Starshower gives to your next command is *huge* (70%) and it applies to Limit Breaks. Starshower -> Limit is easily the single most damaging thing in the game. You can also save MP by boosting a high level spell to do nearly twice the damage for the price of one. Or just queue up two Starshowers in a row and switch to someone else while Tifa unloads on the enemy. Also, the game doesn't really explain the point of Cloud's Disorder ability. Its main benefit is that it can launch enemies that won't flinch from normal attacks (which is most of them at this point, including those annoying Abzu Shoats), while being cheap to execute since it gives back part of the ATB you spent. If your basic attacks don't cause an enemy to flinch, they also won't cause it to stand back up when it's on the floor. So you launch them into the air with Disorder, they become Pressured, you hit them with a Punisher Mode combo since Disorder also changes your mode, you get that ATB back plus build up a lot of Stagger gauge without the enemy fighting back. It's like a better version of Tifa's Overpower.
12:40 If it helps about the shortcut moves. I do this: I put the Focus attacks (Focus thrust, Focus strike, focus shot) for all characters on the same button, for example Y. That way, no matter what character I select, I know my attack to increase stagger is in the same button. I do the same for the basic high damage attacks like Braver, Divekick or maximum Fury.
Combat tip: Giving someone prayer (materia) plus the healing carcanet (equipment or gear) is a really good combo to use! I love giving it to Barret because he can build atp fast and hes safe in range! :D Edit: The Mithril Saber is suuuuper good with cloud. Makes him an excellent healer, and another good option for prayer while using that weapon.

Theres a little present for you on the ground now that you finished the sidequests ... make sure you check near where your supposed to climb up for the next part .. its easy to miss
I know 1 song is in the arena 1 song is in the hotel close by where the quest is ... The last 1 is in the alley where you saw miss folia next to honey bee inn

Edit: The Mithril Saber is suuuuper good with cloud. Makes him an excellent healer, and another good option for prayer while using that weapon.
It also makes him a great magic attacker, since he can self-Berserk by holding the attack button in Punisher Mode.
I definitely did not use prayer enough in this playthrough 😩 maybe when I go back and try hard mode I’ll be able to implement some of this stuff!!

Magnify and Elemental are both EXTREMEY useful/powerful Blue Materia, especially once they're leveled...
