One day I hope Japan will start manufacturing direct drive turntables like they did in the 1970's and 80's. Those turntables had powerful motors with very accurate speeds unlike belt driven tables with more wow and flutter.
If you're looking for a solid Japanese direct drive turntable without the deejay esthetics you seriously should consider the Onkyo CP-1050. Retrofit it with a Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge and stylus and, assuming you have a decent hifi system and phono preamp in place, you're good for many, many hours of eye-opening (or rather ear-opening) fidelity and sound-stage, even from your existing vinyl collection.
On my Denon DP-300F TT am trying to locate where I can adjust how far the tone arm moves toward the record when using the auto-start button. At the current setting the arm moves slightly too far into the first music track before dropping onto the record. Have looked thru the Service Manual but don’t see any section that deals with that particular potential adjustment.
How do you connect the DP300 to the Denon AVR3300? There is no RCA jack audio in like other receivers, and as you know, the DP300 already has a built-in preamp. So how do I connect them so I have full surround sound using all of my speakers and volume control? The Denon help line rep I spoke to couldn't help so I am reaching out to you.

Yes, just use the lifter to raise the tonearm and place where you want it, then use the lifter to gently lower the arm. The automatic controls only kick in at the start and end of the record, as long as the tonearm doesn't reach those positions it's no problem.

I cannot seem to get the device to start normally as it used to. Anybody has some ideas? No. You need powered speakers (AudioEngine, for example) or a stereo/home theater/etc amplifier with attached speakers. Just hooking this directly to plain un-powered speakers(or headphones) will not work.
Just got one, first impression - No tone arm lock, just a rest. It was annoying to setup the cartridge and counterweight without that stupid lock. No RCA port - its directly wired - my powered speakers (Audio Engine A2+) are far and I needed to buy an extender for the fix. Very nice turntable however mine runs a bit fast and the stylus sets automatically a bit further into the first track. Is there any way to manually adjust the turntable speed to get closer to 33.3 rpm and is there a way to adjust manually the beginning position when automatically starting?
Yes, you certainly can adjust both speeds with the variable resistors on the motor control board. Accessible from the underside near the front left foot. Slip the corner forward and provide some temporary support. Just be careful as even a small partial turn can make a big adjustment. I play a test record with a 1000 Hz track and observe the frequency from the speakers with an app such as Pano Tuner. When played at 45 rpm the frequency will be 1350 Hz. I don't like rpm apps as they are not accurate enough and the weight of the phone can be enough to unbalance the platter. The lead in and lead out positions can also be adjusted, as can the lift height. Not a bad turntable at all. However, yet another oem-product from mainland China (Shenzen). And the stock cart is not a Denon either but a unmarked Audio-Technica ATH-3600L that can be yours for just over USD25.00. Not exactly a cart you want for serious listening. Rega supplies the same cart in disguise, they call it the Rega carbon. So, for the money one doesn't really get value and it certainly is not a Denon turntable. Half the retail price would be appropiate. But at least it keeps your records unharmed if properly adjusted.
George Doughly. 0.1% for the DP300F compared to 0.15% for one of the Rega models and 0.2% for a couple of UTurn models. I think it has to get up around 1.0% before it's audible to the human ear. I got a great android app called RPM Calculator. You just put your phone on the platter and get it spinning and the rpm displays on the screen. 33.3 came in at 33.4 - 33.5 and 45.0 came in at 45.1 - 45.2. So basically my turntable is running 0.1% faster, and wow and flutter is within the 0.1% specs. There are speed adjustment screws on the underside of the table but I've never worried about the 0.1%. Here's a spec chart from iamthejeff. www.iamthejeff.com/post/13/turntable-comparison-chart
Hi is it a "real" Denon? no but good providing you dont get a Mon. Am lemon build..... unlucky.the cart supplied is shocking & woeful with or with out the 30hr run in try a Grado Blk or Grn(hum not a prob. with Grados on this particular turntable.) or a Nag.Mp110 a world of diff.
@Kyle Comeaux, Well, it depends what you want. I'm sure a vintage player would give much more satisfaction than this one. One in good condition that is...... So I'd say, set aside some more money and be patient. These turntables are for the starters with vinyl. Once on the go the limitations of products in this price range will reveal itself quite soon. Certainly if connected to good equipment capable of letting the shortcomings of the turntable come out as a whole. And this goes for the cart in particular. Roughly spoken, for twice the amount of this Denon one could get so much more quality. Quality that will make that you do not feel the urge replacing the product. This Denon is a plastic affair, for occasional listening and when no real quality reproduction is wanted. This is my vision on things. I was in the business too long so I know what I'm talking about. It will play your records, yes. It will leave them in shape if that awful cart is replaced that is. To conclude things, this turntable is only a small step above the Crosley stuff price wise. And you get what you pay for. The rest is up to you. Good luck!

@@fredlegs6889 nearly impossible to get right, tried and tried and eventually gave up. Ended up returning to seller K.G. Electronics for a full refund after the front button got stuck. Extremely disappointing considering what I paid. Decided to wait for the new Denon DL400K with the S Shaped tonearm.
Why belt driven? Direct drive better'?
Belt drive allows the motor to not be directly attached to the platter, reducing any vibrations caused by the motor
THANK U SO MUCH I HAD A PROBLEM AND THIS VIDEO HELPED THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!
WTF is going on with those nowadays unboxings? This is the third one I’ve watched and still don’t know if RCA cable is included or not.
Had this turntable for a while now its putting me off buying vinyl. Been.listening to vinyl since the 60's
For anyone still here, this thing is now $200, so you can compare it to the u turn orbit basic... I'm still torn in this or the u turn
this
I know its late, but this has a better wow and flutter for a worse cart. This i think is better long term
If you want an automatic turntable, get this one. If you want to do everything manually, get the U-turn.
such a great turntable for such a low price
I have one and I love it!
@@tomshaffer6507 I agree. I isolated the cartridge from the headshell/arm combination and couldn't be happier. www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/pict/302206630641_/Cartridge-Isolation-System-Cartridge-Isolator-cartridge-spacer.jpg
Fred Legs what exactly does that do above and beyond the stock setup?
Y’all, it’s $329.00 on majority of the major online stores.
What is the name of the upgraded needle
Ortofon 2M Red Stylus
Y U not show user manual and dust cover? lol. Nice intro to one of my favorite entry level tables out there right now.
Hello Everyone,
I’m hoping some of you can help me. Can an automatic turntable detect a 10 inch vinyl?
I really need your help 😃
I am using this recorder its very good one .. Good sound....
What would be your turntable recommendation in the same price range?
I heard that this Denon turntable has a high wow & flutter.

Thanks for the help !
thanks!
No power switch!
I had one for 9 years, but there is better technology available for a similar price.
D. Paul Gladstone can you care to elaborate and give some models as advice 😃? Thanks
wow, the same mechanism it looks like that a 100$ player uses. with an upgraded tonearm. really small and thin platter too. what's the point?
@Kyle Comeaux,
Well, it depends what you want. Good luck!
it's $330. that is an awful price.
an Offensive Narwhal $199 at best buy a hundred dollar cheaper than a AT-120LP
And the Offensive is probably a horrible turntable.
Especially considering it's just an Audio Technica LP60 with a fancier tone arm. Pass...
cork mats disintegrate and you end up with cork bits all over the record
Pretty cheap/thin looking platter.
My thoughts excactly yet the rest tt look nice
Its full metal, nicer than the uturn or lp120. Wow and flutter is lowest of the bunch as well
@@trevorroddy9545 Right On. Looks can be deceptive.
#awsome
no fine adj ,,, for speed,,,,
this is a channel about "audio", I'm just sayin... those plosives are horrid...
This guys microphone pisses me off
How does this compare to the Project T1 turntable?
