Thank you dear Kate! 🥰✨ Sorry for the delayed response. This summer was, as you know, quite packed. I’m excited to finally catch up on all the sweet words left under my videos by supportive hearts such as yourself. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

Nice find, I'm happy the role was so big for you. It's funny how a bit of modern day voice-pitching makes the language seem itself more modern :)

Thanks Joseph! Isn’t that interesting? I believe that’s the actor’s job and opportunity each time this old timey Old English is shared with a modern audience-to find the through line and cadence of the current times 🙃 Thank you for watching and commenting!

I liked the third one best when she had to answer for herself (I think that was what was happening). I have to read a Shakespeare soliloquy about ten times before I can translate it into how we would say it so I would have any idea how it would be said. But that was good stuff- explosive energy.

Thank you so much! YES that monologue is very intense. Can’t believe I had never encountered it before playing the role. So glad you liked it 🥰 And yes, you are absolutely right! She’s answering for herself-and defending herself-because the evil Duke out of nowhere banishes her and says that he will kill her if she ever returns. She says “I do beseech your grace, Let me the knowledge of my fault bear with me?!” Which means “Please, tell me what I’ve done wrong?!” And when he can’t give any real answer, she realizes she’s being punished only because he hates her father (whom he’s banished previously). And then she LETS HIM HVE IT! So juicy 😁 Thanks for watching and commenting, and for your sweet compliments on my performance!

@@ShelbyLovesShakespeare When I was reading King LEar I ran across this: Prescribe not to us our duties. And I had to laugh, "Don't tell me what to do!"
