this guy mastered the fallout settlement system, and he's got talent at this! amazing tutorials and good explainations, and you play on ps4 so everyone can follow your advices. you sure gain a subscriber! and a fan
+norespawns may i put in a request, fuck it ill ask you anyways, can you not use building mods, because a lot of people like myself dont like using mods to make settlements, or you know do what ever the fuck you want i just wanted to put in this request.
+norespawns hey, I have a question and would love if you'd make a video on it, and if you already have, please tell me the name but, do you think you could show how you'd build an attack station? y'know turrent setups, and more so cannon stations. I'm trying to make a little dock for the cannons but can't really think up something for spectacle island and tips for something like that would be amazing! your probably the best at this kind of stuff I've seen on youtube
I love how your structures fit in so perfectly into the commonwealth! Before i watched your videos i was kinda stuck with this minecraft mentality of everything beeing perfectly symmetrical and clean. I'd love to see all those buildings of yours fully decorated in a future video someday. You're a great inspiration, keep up your good work! Ps.: I think your voice is awesome! :3
+fatal Ærror Thank you! I like to think I'd make a great architect (provided of course that my clients were looking for a junk-yard style for their buildings). And glad you like my voice. Still get used to the sound of it recorded myself :)
I wish I could see this game through your eyes. You are truly at the creation avenue of this game. I can't thank you enough for this, it has helped me view the game differently. I am going to throw your name around my website quite a bit to our Fallout 4 member base, my Fallout people...hell all people need to see and appreciate the way you build on this game. Bethesda would be proud.
+N3XTL3G3ND Gaming never think about that but it's sound like it could be awesome! I wish we'll have an obsidian's sequel, like new vegas improves fallout 3 game mechanics, it could be great to see what they could upgrade in the building part of fallout 4
good work man I watched all your fallout videos so far and can't wait for the next one I like your stuff so much better then most of the others I've seen and I've built several settlements inspired by your builds. I even had to start a new save to have a fresh palate so to speak
I noticed that with the mat glitch the other day, about not being able to cram things in with non-prebuilt structures. (It seems to work on the PC as well as on other versions.) I'm still getting started with building, doing things relatively crudely so far, and I was trying to rearrange Hangman Alley in a reasonable way by blocking off the water-side entrance entirely -- opening up all that wonderful dirt for food production -- and then creating a kind of a murder hole at the other end, where any enemies coming in could be forced into a narrow space and then mowed down by my friendly neighborhood turrets. It took me about an hour to get a combination of junk fences and shack walls to line up right because stuff just would not slip in as I wanted to matter what I did. It's a relief to see you with the same issue, because I was afraid they'd patched the mat glitch away. As far as an area of outdoor couches for chem consumption -- well, the one we used to have behind our booth at the Ren Faire had a cloth roof for shade, but it did nothing to keep the water out when it rained. (Which it occasionally did that time of year, even in California.) So, yeah.
20:05 I'm glad I'm not the only one to roleplay like that. Nothin like doing a blast of chems after a long day of building. I usually plop down a dirty ashtray and a lit cigarette on that end table for more aesthetics.
ok, still watching, so i thought i would comment again, you are smooth with your work man, i mean you make thing's work. why didnt i find you EALRIER! you deserve more SUBS
There is a trick i use a lot ... when you are placing a foundation above other foundation, instead of manualy trying to make it perfect, build my favorite build helper structure, that is that floor+ sealing + stair in the midle structure ... next to the foundation floor part, and it will make possible to clip a perfect foundation above the other, works for this wood one and the stone one 2. Sry for my not too great english.
"Don't smoke kids, its awesome but it makes you cough a lot." Pretty sure there's enough advertising around nowadays to show you can find a whole lot of things to do that are a lot of more cool than smoking lol. But we all live our own lives, I respect that man.
+Toby Wilson I have now hit day 8 of non-smoking; smoking is not cool, but unfortunately it is highly addictive. Fortunately nicotine patches are awesome :)
the junkier looking walls are actually my favourite. the lack of windows pisses me off and these balcony things doesn't always work well so i love to use the walls with holes as an alternative
Please do Croup Manor, the house is full of holes in the ceilings and broken walls. The house also has an irregular shape so repairing it and adding flooring is difficult because some areas in the floor are really narrow and the walls are higher than the walls provided in the workshop. The size limit is actually really big for the building area, but there isn't enough space on the ground floor to build anything so you're sort of forced to build up. It'd be awesome to see what you can do with it. Plus, I see you're gaining like 500 subscribers a day, nice man!
I'm interested to see what you would do with Bunker Hill - I built out an area for shops on the roof of the existing market, but it took console commands to get the stairs up to it properly, and the settlers wouldn't really go up there. It would be cool to see what you do with it on console!
Could you do a decorating video for people that want to see the decoration? I am a huge settlement build fan and I love to build different and stylish yet wastelandy buildings and your videos have helped so much so if you could also do decoration vids I'm sure that they'd help to thanks, btw love your vids and cause of these build vids you've earned a sub from me (not trying to say I'm big or important)
great build bro. really nice. Im loving your videos they have really helped me step up my building. but I'm having a problem with something. I'm trying to make a power armor storage room off of the garage door at Red rocket. I think it would be cool. open the garage Door and boom all the power armor. lol. but I just can't seem to get it to work. it won't line up right or I can't get a roof on. its driving me nuts. so if there's anything you can do or any tips to help me out would be very much appreciated. thanks again man. nice one.
Here's an idea for a lets build ,maybe a sheltered guard post or a watchtower ,its a pretty small build but maybe you could add it to the end of another build video
Triggerhappy Cat Yeah I got that. I made that comment literally right at the beginning when he first said that and before I realised he actually did mean what he was inferring.
The floors were not in line. The upper layer was more to the left than the lower. The sinkin is probably a waterfront glitch. If one (like me) want's to create some feeling of a real home by placing some objects (junk/food etc.) on tables and such, it can't be done in waterfront houses. They mostly just fall through any surfaces in to the beach or bottom of the sea every time when the game loads up the island for example during fast travel. I think it might have something to do with coding of water in the game. It's not solid, it's moving all the time.
actually that happens everywhere, not just waterfront houses. Every settlement suffers from the bug. And who cares if the floors don't line up? it's supposed to be rickety.
+Carrie Hall Not true. Sanctuary is solid as a rock. Objects get knocked down by roaming NPC's, but they don't usually fall through tables etc. I built for example a sort of treehouse in sanctuary and after two hundred hours the characters breakfest is still on the kitchen table. I had a problem with only one liquour bottle, which kept falling from the side table in the parlour room. Now my character inhabits one of the houses in Sanctuary, after I added ceilings, doors and some walls and everything stays in place.
+Carrie Hall And I wrote the part of the floors because he had problems adding the shack foundation in the right place. Game couldn't lock on to a right surface.
Not true? Excuse me? I wouldn't say something if it wasn't happening to me. I built a tree house as well, and still had the glitch in Sanctuary...and everywhere else. Bottles, items....anything not on sofas or chairs falls through. It started with the new patch and there have been numerous complaints about it. I don't bother decorating anymore until it's fixed. Trust me, I've tried every fix to get my objects to stay on tables, shelves, even boxes, and they eventually fall through. And that includes boxes of food or plates to make the homes more lived in. This problem occurs inside the "rock solid" sanctuary houses. I even tested out red rocket's counter to see if it was affecting only user-placed surfaces. All fans, bottles sank into that long counter. So no, this glitch affects Bethesda as well. Whatever they fixed in the patch messed up the settlement decor placement.
If you built before the patch, then your stuff might be fine, but try building in sanctuary now and place a bottle on say, a cabinet or table. I guarantee it will fall through if you're on a console.
what about doing a 2 series of this but doing the decoration? i would like to see it , but you should have a strawpool or something to see if the other viewers like it 2
+BlackMemories it would get boring very fast; as I would more or less be doing the same thing each episode; that being said I might make a decorating guide in the future perhaps.
+BlackMemories Actually scrap both of our ideas - what I'll do is finish the let's build part of the video; then decorate (but not record) and then show the inside when I do the walk around at the end. That way people get to see the inside finished, but not get bored with me spending 30 minutes decided what sofa to use :)
Ive been working on a settlement of my own and take my advice on this, never build on red rocket, everything clips everywhere, its full or trash and building on top of the gas station is a pain in the ass without the elevator mod.
you should make sep video for the furniture or add it into same vid at end with time stamps showing the building and the furniture for people who want to watch it i want to see your ideas for furniture
+guilherme montoni The Let's Build series is going to be exclusively set on Spectacle Island, as it's a huge area that gives me loads of space to work with (plus I'd probably shoot myself trying to build that up in one go!) - but I will get around to the Lighthouse eventually; I'm building up every settlement in the game (one, maybe two a week). Still mulling over where to build next.
Have you tried shifting a whole building during construction? It sinks right into the ground and becomes completely fucked up depending on where you're building. It's actually easier to fiddle with the railing.
+Carrie Hall Yeah it would be pain if it was a standard build, but the whole building is on supports which would make it easier to adjust the building.
I build similar to Dave (Davey?) and have tried moving the entire structure because of a tree in the way (country crossing location...the big tree you can't scrap) It sank into the ground and didn't go anywhere I wanted it to go. I managed to finally get it to move...but it took more than a minute. Foundations don't make it easier. And fricking Bethesda just needs to patch the entire building function in general. Tired of objects falling through shelves and dead bodies that won't despawn. I'm on ps4 and can't delete the ghouls in croup manor. I had to build shops on top of their corpses, lol.
Cool how about doing a Starlight build and utilise all the steel you get from there ? Also I liked your first videos that seemed to have less profanity in which you took your videos more professionally too, keep that up ,don't be like every other douche on youtube .However I understand some people enjoy such conversation, anyway awesome build and yeah Starlight would be something different .
Marcus Nilsson753 i copied this from the wiki: To unlock the island for use as a settlement, the Sole Survivor must go to the sunken boat to the south and flip the switch on the circuit breaker. This will cause the screen to shake and a mirelurk queen and several hunters will emerge, as well as potentially a legendary mirelurk deep king. To finish the unlocking process, one must go back and flip the circuit breaker on the radio tower. After a few seconds, this will send out a pulse which will drive all remaining mirelurks to the shores of the island. It is not necessary to kill the queen, as she is affected by this pulse as well. The workshop will then unlock, and one will be able to build at any point on the island.
Its so weird that no body knows how to build a proper house in the fallout world everything is run down and half assed. I don't mean the player i mean the actual world

+norespawns If there was an apocalypse you would be the person I'd try to find :P
some of the best commentary I've heard in a while. I could watch these for hours

+Experience Gaming Seriously, thank you :) - this comment brought a smile to my face. Glad your finding the videos so helpful :)
I can only imagine what settlement building like this would be like in The Elder Scrolls series...
thats what I've been thinking since this game came out. How is TES 6 gonna improve this. hopefully it'll be on a new engine.
+N3XTL3G3ND Gaming never think about that but it's sound like it could be awesome! I wish we'll have an obsidian's sequel, like new vegas improves fallout 3 game mechanics, it could be great to see what they could upgrade in the building part of fallout 4
i love the jump build you made. opened my eyes to see how you could use the VERY limited items for the best.
Dude, your videos are so solid. You have some great tips and ideas. I'll keep watching if you keep making.
Wow!! Keep up the good work, I could listen to you all day
That fact that you used "fuckery" shows how awesome these are!
+tlopesgsd May the blessings of Petardia eternally touch your butt.
+Sentinalh Butt sticks..
man. I bet anyone who comes near your structures
gets their happiness boosted up to 100 automatically.

I learned so much in this video before the 10 minute mark

''crappy looking, but structurally cool kind of smackhouse'' xD subscribed you're commentary is so funny, but so informative !

Quitting smoking is easy. I've done it dozens of times.
*This is just a joke.
Don't remember the comedian.
Love the vids, Potter
Merry Christmas!
the junkier looking walls are actually my favourite. the lack of windows pisses me off and these balcony things doesn't always work well so i love to use the walls with holes as an alternative
Honestly, I would love to see interior decoration videos. If not, perhaps just a demonstration of the finished interior?
Please do Croup Manor, the house is full of holes in the ceilings and broken walls. Settlement size limit isn't an issue anywhere with the size glitch.
With the roof and railings, I use the wood/tin roof that looks like the one you used but has the end that is higher.
+syn4ack That's a very clever idea - would likely be the same height as the railings too. Cheers :)
Nice job, great ideas. I bet you could pull off some amazing things if you were on a PC with mods. But for condole. this was excellent.
This is incredible
luv you're vids and skill, good for you
I would watch you decorate your buildings, I need inspiration. I'm shit at it and your good so it's a win win
dude, do independent videos where you decorate. I wouldn't find it boring.
+Kaelen Weaver Agreed!
Agreed +2
+Kaelen Weaver agreed +3

Love the vids u should make separate ones showing u decorate the structures u build

+FadedClown F More are coming (tomorrow in fact)! I'm just taking a little time off for Xmas :)
Stop telling me to take care! Sometimes I like to walk through heavy traffic and pretend I'm in Bee Movie!
+Potema Dunne that's my Britsh-ness coming. Forgive me. Also take care.
+norespawns YOU PIECE OF SHIT
Are you planning on showing us a little walk around of your building when you have it furnitured? ^^'
+Ted Wallin (ProfSmythe) For the future ones yes, but not for this one :)

I find your voice and accent very satisfying. I'll sub.

I think the word you were looking for Davey is Intangible.
Awesome Awesome vid bro.keep it up,if you can, could you build in hangman ally?
+Mario Iracheta Boom! ruclips.net/video/SNwMGSBQLiQ/видео.html
Don't get me wrong, that's some crazy shit you're building, but they all just feel out of place in the wasteland. They're too intricate.
Can you show how you build the generator nicely on the rooftop? (From your sanctuary buildings)
Yes, I like!
How beautiful were did U get all the steel N wood? N U move way to fast hahahaha
what about doing a 2 series of this but doing the decoration? i would like to see it , but you should have a strawpool or something to see if the other viewers like it 2
+BlackMemories it would get boring very fast; as I would more or less be doing the same thing each episode; that being said I might make a decorating guide in the future perhaps.

+norespawns please do that! I absolutely love your lets build videos! I even had a lovely dream that I loved in your sanctuary settlement!
+norespawns Your on to it .
norespawns yeah, that would be a better ideia
Did you know you can stick wall lights onto the large pylons? They make great street lamps
+Chris Ballinger Yeah I normally do that (see my sanctuary vid) - completely forgot with this one :)
+norespawns you can also hang a light bulb from the 'skull pole', it makes for another great street light :)
sorry i broke the 69 likes but this was just too good not to press like on. Good job once again. I wish i was that creative
Ive been working on a settlement of my own and take my advice on this, never build on red rocket, everything clips everywhere, its full or trash and building on top of the gas station is a pain in the ass without the elevator mod.
How do you do stuff like this. When every I try to build it just looks like a big box
What does he mean when he says 'went to diamond city to buy wood and steel'? which vender sells materials? Is it just the surplus store?
+Jake Darling You can buy "shipments" of materials from most vendors.
SAFF: Singing, Acting, Fun with Friends Ah ok... Didn't notice that at all, that makes my life easier
ah yes, simpler times
Btw, Bob IS my uncle. Well one of my uncles.
you should make sep video for the furniture or add it into same vid at end with time stamps showing the building and the furniture for people who want to watch it i want to see your ideas for furniture
i made a house and the groundfloor became a greenhouse :D
Could you make something in Kingsport Lighthouse?
+guilherme montoni The Let's Build series is going to be exclusively set on Spectacle Island, as it's a huge area that gives me loads of space to work with (plus I'd probably shoot myself trying to build that up in one go!) - but I will get around to the Lighthouse eventually; I'm building up every settlement in the game (one, maybe two a week). why dont you speed the interior up if you think it would be boring for the viewers?
i would enjoy it.
how do you get the doors to snap in so dam easly. i never can get them to snap in. it sucks
+thunderlord2200 They always start facing the wrong way :P - just rotate them.
SUBBED~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why didn't you just shift the whole building over a small bit instead of fighting with the railing?
Have you tried shifting a whole building during construction? It sinks right into the ground and becomes completely fucked up depending on where you're building. It's actually easier to fiddle with the railing.
+Carrie Hall Yeah it would be pain if it was a standard build, but the whole building is on supports which would make it easier to adjust the building.
+DarkwaveProduction Because I'm lazy and the railing didn't actually take much time :)
I build similar to Dave (Davey?) and have tried moving the entire structure because of a tree in the way (country crossing location...the big tree you can't scrap) It sank into the ground and didn't go anywhere I wanted it to go. I managed to finally get it to move...but it took more than a minute. Foundations don't make it easier.

how can I build here? I try to use the workshop it says can't use it yet. I've beaten the game
+Everett Peck You've got to kill everything there first. Just explore and follow those cables to the boat.
How do you jump while in the workshop mode. Please answer.
+Caleb Ray on console it's just jump. Apparently you can't do that on PC though.
Where is this settlement I haven't got to this area yet I don't think?
Spectacle Island - South of BoS HQ
Cool how about doing a Starlight build and utilise all the steel you get from there ? Also I liked your first videos that seemed to have less profanity in which you took your videos more professionally too, keep that up ,don't be like every other douche on youtube .However I understand some people enjoy such conversation, anyway awesome build and yeah Starlight would be something different .
Keep up the fuckery. The mature amongst us can handle honest speech.
Erich Salvesen Believe it or not ,you can be honest without swearing .
***** I use to think swearing was cool too ,but in all seriousness a professional in the eyes of the public does not swear .
+Ricky Westley so fucking what? No one else cares.
Erich Salvesen Just a suggestion .
Wish I did good like this Xd Is Hancock your romance?
+Trevor Romine Bromance - but no. I'm actually roleplaying with no romance. My character hasn't taken that wedding ring off once :)
Where is it?
Where was this built?!?! Which settlement location?
Spectacle island
Make a power armor warehouse in sanctuary
I know how to add doors to sanctuary houses... without it looking messing or adding a wall! just door without a frame
please show decoration in a separate video maybe?
Where is this
what is L1 on xbox?
What settlement location is this??

i copied this from the wiki: To unlock the island for use as a settlement, the Sole Survivor must go to the sunken boat to the south and flip the switch on the circuit breaker.
Have fun
