I want to thank you for the idea of tracing a pattern so if your size changes you can still use the pattern again. I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this myself for all the years I’ve been sewing. Really enjoyed you video and your beautiful cats. ❤️😘🥰 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for watching ❤️
Hi Michelle. First time viewer. I loved this video and how honest you are with sewing techniques. I love the fabric and finished dress, my favourite is the added cardigan and tights. Gorgeous. I also love the fabric of the top you are wearing. Thank you Michelle. 😊
Aww thank you so much! So pleased you enjoyed and found it helpful 😁
I also was so glad to see misty made an appearance. I love your sew alongs and the way you do them from start to finish and I love how you explain things your format is perfect for a sew along don't change a thing on how you do them. As always such a wonderful vid.
Ahh thank you so much that’s lovely to know you enjoy the format 😘 such lovely feedback thank you x
I enjoy watching your process including tracing and cutting out. I don't use weights or trace. Good ideas. Love your kitty! I like the height of your work table. You're able to stand to work and sew.
Thank you! It makes me very happy to know you enjoyed watching 😁 yes I love my work table! A lot of people think it’s odd to sew standing but I really enjoy it 😂 even if my feet hurt at the end of the day x
I'm so glad I found your tutorial! Several skills in this dress are new to me (interfacing, understitching) and this helped keep me on the right track, haha. Halfway through my own Myosotis.
Ahh I am so happy you have found it helpful! Best of luck finishing off your dress 😁👍 xx
Love, Love the fabric you chose for the dress. I also love theshirt you are wearing. I have just picked up sewing again after ten years of hiatus. I forgot how soothing it was to do it and much I missed it. Dress turned out lovely.
Ahh that’s wonderful that you have come back to sewing 🧵 I don’t know what I would do without it now 😁 it has a lovely way of making you feel so creative
@@SewingBunny I agree. I finished my 1st top yesterday and started a pair if pants. Hurray.
Liked the sew along the way you did it. Don’t change a thing. Looks nice on you. Thank you
Ahh thank you very much! I like to check in as happy to get feedback and it’s wonderful to know that you like how I do these videos 😘👍 x
I just love your little orange kitty 😊 I have an orange one also and I find that breed to be full of lovely character, lol!! 😂
Awww yeah I agree! He has so much personality and is very very spoilt 😻
the fabric is lovely and very suitable for that dress, you've done well
Thank you so much 😊
I have watched a few of your videos and I really like your pattern and fabric choices, as well as your clear and to the point instructions. I love this dress and definitely want to make it, so thank you for this sew along. It really is just what I need as i am relatively new to garment sewing.
That’s great I am so pleased you enjoyed thank you 😊 hope you have the confidence to give it a go sometime 👍 x
love your cat, thank you for the video
Awww thanks 😻 xx
Gorgeous job. Love the fact u spoke about sizing at the beginning and why u picked the size u did. Also loved the fact u showed everything didn’t go perfectly and how u over came the collar. Thanks so much. I’ve ordered the pattern so will give it a try even though I’ve never done button holes before 🙂
Ahh that’s amazing you want to give it a go 😁👍 I really hope you enjoy making it and thanks so much for watching and commenting x
I don't know know what it is about cats and sewing, at least one of my cats will be sitting on something I'm working on. I always have to remove one of them from my chair. I even had one cat that liked to lay on top of the sewing machine as I was sewing. Your dress is lovely and looks great on you. I think non sewists would be amazed at how much more there is to making a garment than the actual sewing.
Yes cats and sewing go hand in hand 😁 I think it’s them being jealous of the machine having your attention 🤣 yes very true on the non sewists not realising all the steps that go into making something x
I love your sew along ...so relaxing to watch you. Personally I never sew the same day I draw copy and cut pattern and fabric ...it’s too much time and energy for the same day.
Yes it’s very true! I only do it for the sew alongs just as I would prefer to film everything over a weekend rather than on different days 😁 usually I’m working on something for a good week or so xx
Sewing Bunny for me there is 3 steps: RÉFLEXION/DECISION: find the right pattern ( with my complicated body like a turkey or a goose you know tiny legs with a big belly🙄) the right fabric as well. PREPARATION : copy pattern , cut it , cut fabric , interfacing ironing etc and REALIZATION ( favorite part ) sewing !. 🥰
Miss Sewciopath haha love it! Great way of getting it done 👍 x
That looks great . And I love the red blouse you had on . so nice !
Thank you 😊
Great job. The dress is really pretty in that material. I wasn't sure initially because the flowers are reasonably big. But seeing it finished has given me the confidence to pick a bigger print next time I make this dress.
Ahhh thank you! Yes it’s always good to experiment with different fabrics and styles 😁 yeah give the big floral print a go 😁 xx
Perfect sew along, perfect dress and perrrrfect interruptions from Bentley 😋🐾💕👌😁😘
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed 😁 thank you for watching xx
It fits you very well looks great with the tights.
Thank you 😊
When misty came back the second time I laughed so loud!
Amanda Turner haha! Glad you enjoyed 😁 I think she wanted to be centre of attention and did not appreciate that my attention at the time was elsewhere 🤣 x
I love watching the process from you unboxing the material, to deciding what to make with it, to then the sewing of the item - a beautiful dress, so inspiring and your cat is hilarious 🐱😍
Ahh thanks 😊 super pleased you enjoy seeing each step thank you for letting me know! X
... First of all beautiful beautiful fabric the dress looks gorgeous on you I would not change a thing about your videos you’re genuine self even working through the collar was so good to watch to see what it looks like when trying to piece through a challenging moment I love the process of you picking the sizing the description of the fabric all of it including your adorable cat Misty which gave us quite a cute little laugh yeah don’t change anything it’s so refreshing to see a genuine sew along with everything included so that we feel complete from beginning to end absolutely amazing fantastic and again beautiful dress beautiful fabric thank you so much hugs Monica💙💙💙👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼‼️
Aww thank you so much for your lovely comment 🥰 it’s so nice to know that you enjoy what I do and I’m so pleased that you took the time to comment and let me know! Thank you very much for watching and all the support xx
Another fabulous sew-a-long. I really like seeing and hearing you talk about each step and the thinking out loud bits if it's okay to call them that. You're such a natural in your vlogs, it's like sewing with a friend! The dress looks great, and you have two adorable co-stars. Thank you for taking the time to sew, film and share. x
Ahhh thank you for a lovely comment 😁 I’m so pleased you enjoy the sew alongs and the format 😍 it’s always a pleasure to film especially knowing that i am keeping someone company whilst sewing xx
Love your sew along videos. Great job.
Ahh thank you so much that’s lovely to know you enjoy them 😁💕
Super cute, beautiful fabric!
Thank you 😊 xx
Beautiful make Thank You. Misty is such a sweetie x 🙌🏻❤️💜💙
Sarah O'Donnell ahhh thank you very much! Happy to hear you like my little Misty kitty too 😻
Fabulous Video's, so informative and easy to understand, I'm hooked!
Glad you enjoyed and that you found it helpful 🥰👍
Hello again Michelle, Bentley and Misty. Lovely to see you working on another project. Beautiful material, love the style and yes, agree the dress length looks better without the extra frill . A plainer pattern perhaps for the different sleeve and frill addition next time! Happy twirling, look great, love you in green , love you always,Mum xx
Thanks mumma bear 🐻 xxx
Thank you for this tutorial. I love your dress. It turned out well. I really enjoy your sew alongs. Looking forward to more in the near future.
Thank you that’s great to know! Yes don’t worry more will come as I really enjoy doing them 😁 xx
I love this pattern.
It is a good one! 👍💕
Beautiful dress, and I love the sew along format! 💕
Ahh thank you so much!
Really enjoyed your sew along Michelle, loved the fabric when you initially showed it and it looks great, you have done a great job. Please continue including the bits you had difficulty with and how you resolved them - give me encouragement when I have things happen.
Ahh thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it 😁 thank you for the feedback too, yes I will be sure to keep including every step even the errors 👍 xx
Lovely dress and lovely fabric. You make it look so easy. It’s a joy to watch. X
Haha do I make it look easy? 🤣 I always think I look like I’m bumbling my way through! Thank you though that’s a lovely compliment to receive 👍💕 x
Love the dress and the fabric it really suits you. Love the cats they are so adorable.😘
Thanks 😊 I was really pleased with the dress 💚 thanks for saying my cats are adorable 😻😻
Great tutorial and just the right amount of information covered. Subscribed to your channel as of finding this.
Ahh thank you so much for subscribing 🥰 I’m so glad you enjoyed watching xx
Those pesky collars! I really like the existing format. Love the dress 😍😍 If I lose a few pounds I might give making one of these a go. I really enjoy when you are talking through the measurements. I’m self-taught, so it’s always good to see how other people approach it. xx
Haha yes collars are difficult 🤣 I’m so pleased you like the format that’s so brilliant to know thank you so much for watching xx
Gorgeous!
Ah thank you! X
Hugssssss Bentley glad he dropped in. Watching you make the dress and the outcome makes me want to do one.
Haha yeah he is my little sewing help buddy 😻 yeah it’s a lovely dress to sew up and good instructions too x
thanks so much for this video - found it really helpful, especially the close up of the collar as I was struggling! Thank you for your honesty too - so reassuring.
You are very welcome! I am so pleased you found it useful 😁
So helpful. Thank-you I had a collar moment too so it was reassuring to see you sort yours out. 🥰
Glad it wasn’t just me 🤣 thanks so much for watching x
Thanks for your tutorial Michelle. Very helpful. Amazed at your sewing standing up. Happy twirling x
Your so very welcome! Yes it’s a bit weird that I sew standing but I’m just so used to it now 😁 x
Great sew along Michelle. I wasn’t happy with my first collar but I re sewed it by sewing the interfaced side to the right side and it looked much better . I did the same on my second and it turned out great . Keep up the good work ,your sew a longs are great without any need to change anything .
It’s so reassuring to know I wasn’t the only one with slight collar difficulty 🤣 that’s a great idea and I will try that on my next one! Thanks for the support and feedback it’s always appreciated 😁👍 x
Brilliant video - your dress is gorgeous and really suites you. I always take the sticker off the end of my thread spools - if left on, maybe your spool isn’t sitting correctly on the pin and that is why you are getting problems with the thread going around the pin. Hope this helps.
Thank you that’s a great tip which I will try! I also noticed that when I use my overlocker the thread on my machine jumps around too so that probably isn’t helping either xx
Maybe add a little felt circle under your thread. It's worth a try.
Loved this video Michelle! Your cat made me lol! Mine do exactly the same thing 😺. The dress is absolutely gorgeous. I had the coral colour-way and really fancied the mysotis. Now my decision is made! I’m still sat in wonder that you sew stood up! What a fab way to do it. Might have to think about that to prevent my back ache! X
Haha yes those fuzzy ‘helpers’ always keep me in my toes 😸 ohhh yes the coral would look so pretty made up into the Myosotis 💕 I love sewing standing up as I don’t get back pain but oh my goodness my feet hurt after a while!! I try to think of it as exercise 🤣🤣 x
Thank goodness I’ve found you, your process of including everything from the absolute start to finish is inspiring. I’m now off to watch your back catalogue, thank you
Oh wow thank you!! I’m so super pleased you found me and enjoyed watching 🥰 have fun looking back at some of my other videos.... don’t go too far back as my first few videos when I started are quite cringe worthy 🤣🤣
Sewing Bunny haha 😂 I promise I won’t cringe
When you mentioned about the collar, I have read if you start from the end on both sides and sew towards the centre it is easier to get a neat finish.
That’s a great tip 👍💖
I loved the whole video...beginning to end! The dress looks so nice on you! I'd love to see another sew along!
Ahhh thank you I’m so pleased you enjoyed watching 😁 xx
Lovely dress. I had a problem with the collar too I watched a u tube and put the collar on using a different method. 💕
Glad it wasn’t just me with collar issues 🤣 I’ll try another way maybe next time x
Great sew along. The colour and fabric are gorgeous. Love it. Thank you. Val ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧
Ahh thank you so much! 😁 I’m super pleased with it and can’t wait to wear it out 💕
I loved your dress sew along. The finished dress fits you beautifully and the material has a lovely soft drape. I love the way you think out loud about the process and agree about the over locking, you sometimes need to think one step ahead. Think there’s another ‘make’ coming for me - I made the Style Arc Dale knit top after seeing you model it. The sideshow with your cats is great, they’re so funny - Misty was very needy 😂
Ahhh I’m super pleased you enjoyed the sew along! And how fab that you want to make it and that you also made the Dale knit top as well!!! 😁💕 yes the cats keep me very entertained it’s alway the way that when I’m sitting in the sofa wanting cuddles they ignore me, but when I have other things to do then they are all over me wanting attention 🤣
Your dress looks lovely and it was fun to watch. I’ve always wondered about this pattern but really like the fit on you. Thank you 😁
Thank you so much! I’m super pleased you enjoyed watching 💕 I really want to make more of these dresses as i love the style xx
I loved every minute of it, especially the twirling ha ha. Lovely.
Brilliant thank you so much for watching 😁 💃 xx
I really like it all, I think you do a great job explaining what’s going on and why your doing what your doing. Dress looks great on you.
Ahh thank you! I’m so pleased to hear it 😁 thank you very much for watching and giving me feedback x
Really lovely. Everyone doing a great job on this pattern except me! Mine was enormous and had to be donated to charity
Oh no what a shame yours didn’t work out ☹️ I know some people size down or add ties in the side seams to bring it in? Maybe that would help? Xx
Thanks for sharing this pattern and tips I have just purchased this so this has helped... ps love that the cats get involved little beauts xx
Ahh great you have the pattern too! Good luck with it 😁👍 thanks for watching and letting me know you like seeing the cats too 😻 x
Just finished my first Myosotis dress with all the bells and whistles
(Aka with allthe ruffels )
So happy with it, my new favourite dress pattern
Your turtorial is great love these and do them very well 👍👍👍
And your dress looks lovely on you 😍
I love my dress so much but I must admit I’m itching to make the ruffle version!! 😁 I hope I can make another one at some point with all the ruffle goodness! Thank you for your feedback it’s great to know you enjoy the format 🥰👍 xx
It was useful to hear you considering the sizing/ease etc.
Thank you so much x
Lovely... yours is so pretty and a great color on you and love your cat outtakes you included... I have dogs but they are similar...
thanks for sharing
Ahh thank you that’s lovely to hear 😁 yes pet helpers are the best helpers 💕 x
Love that fabric, looks great x
Thank you x
Great dress, lovely fabric, it looks fab on you!
😊 I’m really pleased with how it turned out x
Gorgeous dress Michelle ❤️ Misty is so cute! Xxx
Ahh thank you so much Tamlyn 😁 I do love the dress and it was very nice having my cat ‘helpers’ involved 😻🤣👍 x
Hello, Michelle. I've just found your channel from, I think, a mention someone made of it on the Fold Line in relation to the Gilbert sew along. I've watched it - for I'm about to make it- and also this one of the Myosotis dress. As a newcomer to your channel I'd just like to give my opinion: I really like seeing the whole process including the thinking before the sewing. A successful garment, I think, it not just a well sewn garment but is one which fits well and that requires some thinking in advance so it is great to see/hear you go through the whole process of looking at the pattern envelope and working out from the sizing given and the finished measurements etc. what you're going to do. Please keep it up! Thank you.
Ahhh thank you so much for your feedback! It’s lovely to hear that you found my channel and that your making the Gilbert too 👍 I’m so pleased you enjoyed watching my sew alongs and that you like me showing the whole process 😁💕 x
This was such a fantastic sew along! Thank you very much for sharing it. I'm just about to make the dress and you've given me so many useful pointers. I really like the way you include the whole process, including choosing the size which is really helpful. I think the dress looks brilliant on you as it is but I agree about adding an inch to the length of the bodice - I'll do that too. Well done!
Love the dress. You twirl so cutely!!!
Pat M haha thanks! I always think I look really awkward 🤣 x
Beautiful
Thank you 😊
Your dress looks lovely. Thanks for the sew along.
Your very welcome! Thanks for watching x
Great sew a long. I added ties to the back of mine as it was a bit too loose. Love it now and will make more.
Lorraine Whiting that’s a great idea adding ties 👍 the skirt is quite full so it’s a good way of bringing it in a bit x
Super cute, great job!!
Ahh thank you 😊 x
Lovely make. 😍
Beverley Marton thank you so much 😊
Love this I have the same fabric and pattern now I’ve seen how lovely yours is I’m going to give this ago. Thanks for the sew along will really help me.
Ahhh amazing! I’m so pleased my video helped you decide to go for it and make the dress 😁👍 wish you all the best with it and I’m sure it will be fabulous x
Love your videos and sewing , so inspiring 😻 one off my cats 🐈 always laying on the iron bed, when I’m sewing
Ahh thank you for watching 😁 yes our furry pals do like to get in the way don’t they 🤣 x
I love watching the back catalog (late bloomer on the RUclips). You have totally inspired me to make my own version. Only suggestion to improve would maybe to say how much fabric you used? I know you started with 2.5m, but I think I saw you put some to one side as you were cutting out. Otherwise love seeing you, and Bentley & Misty who are like all cats - into whatever it is you are doing!
Thank you so much for watching and thank you for the feedback I’ll try and mention how much i actually used in my future videos too xx
Loved watching this as I 'sewed along' with you! Have you made many more? I've just finished one for a spring wedding this weekend x
I am so pleased you found it helpful. I haven’t made another one but I do really want to! Maybe I can get round to it this year x
Love the dress it came out lovely. The cats are great though!
Orcilla Lamprecht ahh thank you! I’m very pleased with it 😁 glad you like the cats 🐱 they do like to ‘help’ 😂 xx
Hi there. Enjoying the video. Hoping to get to the collar part which is where I am stumped. Re: finishing the facing, the instructions do say to do that before you sew them on. I think it is the very first step. Re: the collar, though.. I am LOST. Looking forward to hearing your take on it.
Hiya thanks so much for watching 😁 hope you enjoyed x
LOL... "But Michelle... your iron was in my way" . Somewhere I have a photo of my cat laying out flat on the ironing from years ago and he was also orange. I miss that cat.
Haha you got it! His little face when I bought him in to name and shame 🤣 i think all ginger cats have a very cheeky side to them 💕 x
For collars you should try using clips instead of pins. Pins can pull the fabric and cause puckering, also clips are easier to shuffle along so you can make small adjustments to placement of the collar
That’s a great idea! I do have some I think so I’ll try that next time 👍 x
Great sewalong 👍👍👍
Thank you so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed 😁💕
I agree with you about the print and the added ruffle... it would have been too much. I am so glad you used that lovely green floral.
AuntBecscreations ahh great I’m glad you agreed with me. I do want to do the ruffle on another one at some point x
Loved this, dress looks lovely, cats made me laugh, so funny, love seeing them joining in 😂 I personally wish the sewing was a lot slower so i can really see what's going on, but still enjoy it x
Jennifer Derry ahh yes the cats do like to help me out 🤣 thanks for your feedback totally understand that the speedy bits can sometimes be a bit too speedy so that’s great to know thank you xx
There are times when a cat just has to cat.
You did a great job with the dress, but I do agree that the waistline height will limit the number of ways that you can change it up. But it looks great on you!
Yeah I will lower the waist next time for sure 😁 thanks so much for watching x
Your cats are always like a cherry on top of a cake, they make your videos perfect (I so want to be cheesy and say 'purrrfect'...) You can try sewing the collar in 2 passes: from the centre to the end (generally from the higer point to the lower or from the wider to the narrower to avoid stretching when you sew off the grain. To remember: imagine you're stroking Misty: go from the head to the neck and from the chest to the waist. If you try to stroke cats 'against the grain' they will let you know it's a bad idea!) - or hand baste (I hand baste a lot, I'm not good at precise sewing so I have to 🤣)
The dress is lovely, well done x
Yes that’s such a good tip doing the collar from centre outwards 😁 I will try that next time! Love the use of stroking Misty as an example 😻 you know I NEVER hand baste anything not even zips 🤣 maybe I should change my habits and give it a go! Thanks for all the tips xx
Your cats are frickin' adorable. Are they your "helpers" or your "supervisors"?
Great sewalong, thank you!
Haha yes help-purrrrs and su-purrrrrr-visors 🤣🤣🤣 I’m so lucky to have such wonderful fluffy pals to keep me company xx
I lengthened the bodice by 2cm. The band collar is tricky. Once you make a couple of them it will get easier. I used interlining that is a fine fabric.
Oh great tips! Yes I hope the more I make the easier that collar will be 😁
I love seeing the grandad collars, except the one on the myosotis, I've had trouble getting it to fit right in each one I've made. I have given up with it now and removed the collar off my pattern. Other than that it's a great pattern, your finished dress is gorgeous!
Sewgemsews oh my goodness that makes me feel so much better knowing you had the same issue! other patterns I have done it’s much easier to line up x
Love it !!!!!!
Roula Tornariti thank you 😊
Apologies if I missed something as I am sewing masks while watching/listening. Regarding collar issue, it is sooo difficult to get both sides to look the same, one always looks better. But it can help to sew in 2 passes; that is, sew from center back to front for each side, or sew from front to center back on each side.
MARY BETH PAZDERNIK thank you so much that is a great tip! I think it was as I was sewing from one side to the other it became uneven so sewing centre outwards could actually be a really great idea 😁 thank you x
👌❤️👍👏💐👗 Beautifully made.
Thank you so much! 😁
're thread jumping and winding round spindle.... I note you haven't broken the end paper on the thread so I expect the thread isn't sitting right down on the machine so if there is hiccup then it jumps up? Only suggestion as mine is horizontal and I have hundreds of sticky ends from thread paper stuck on,my desk. The neck... if you pin each end to both sides at front and centre backs together you will get a more even spread around but your looks absolutely fine. I found my neck band sits up quite strongly so wished I had used softer interfacing! But I think that is the design. Love the dress and your version, I have made several!!! Love them and your cats are just adorable!!! 😂😂
Just seen from video when you use your overlocker your table moves and the sewing machine thread jumps and moves so will loosen tension of thread from last time used so when you come to sew machine again there is slack thread to use up then gets tight again?? Might make it wind round spindle if there is room beneath the thread holder from not percolating the end label? Just a thought...🤔🤔🤔🤔
Do you know when I was watching the video back noticed the spool jumping when I used my overlocker too! Funny isn’t it that I had never noticed that before 🤣 that could certainly be an issue but I will try the removing the paper at the top as that sounds like a good idea x
Beautiful dress
Love your sew along
You do excellent job of talking about each step
Just wondering how tall you are?
The dress was shorter than I expected it would be too short for me I am thinking
Love it with the tights and cardigan
Love it
Take care
Looking forward to seeing more of your makes
Thank you! Yes it was a little short and I must admit i think it is perfect length for tights and a cardi but maybe not with bare legs! As it felt a lot shorter when I went outside 🤣 I’m 5’8 by the way x
Love the dress you are wearing can you tell me what pattern you used please.
Ohh I wasn’t wearing a dress on the 2 days I filmed they were actually both jersey tops. The first greenish one was the sew over it Molly top and the second red colour was the sew over it Audrey top 😁 xx
Very helpful as I am about to make this dress please can you say what tracing paper you use thank you x
Thank you! In the description box I have an Amazon aff link so you can see which one I buy 😊 I get it in 50 yard rolls so it lasts me a while x
Ah Michelle. Thank you so much for doing this sew along. I am making a toile first and I'm already struggling to put the neck band on. I've slowed your video right down and looked at the pattern instructions and it's still not working right. If you ever make the dress again, please, please, please can you do a close up from start to finish for putting the neckband on. I'm going to email Deer and Doe to see if they can help me as well. I'm useless. x
Yeah the neckband was a little fiddly mine certainly wasn’t my neatest sewing my any means 😂 if I am honest that the bit putting me off making the dress again but I feel I have a bit more skill now so maybe I should give it a go again 😁 good luck with yours I hope you get it figured out xx
@@SewingBunny Thanks for the reply. I think I’m going to try and do a different neckband or look for a similar neckband pattern that might be easier to do. My toile is a mess. I’m not giving up. 🤪😻🥰
I have lost 5 irons that way. 4 were from my dog and cats playing and knocking them off the ironing board and one involved a certain little boy of mine. I gave up on using an iron for a while until they all got older and less rambunctious. All my irons leaked and spit water after falling so I couldn't use them.
Oh no! Bad luck with irons. Yeah the cats enjoy jumping on the board when I am not looking, thankfully the iron was not on or that could of been a disaster x
Hi Michelle. Quick question: I noticed when you lay your paper pattern out, you don’t measure your grain line with the selvage or fold line before you cut them out of fabric. How are you making sure the traced pattern piece is laid correctly on the fabric Grainline wise? Sonya
Yeah I don’t measure I just go by eye. I know measuring is more accurate but I haven’t had any issues with any of my makes because of it so I guess for me if I’m a couple of mm off then it doesn’t bother me too much 😊 x
Cute top you’re wearing, did you make that too? :) Love the video.
Yes on both days I am wearing me made tops. Day 1 was the sew over it Molly top and day 2 was the sew over it Audrey top 💖
Hi! I love the black dress you are wearing on the intro to the video, I think it is the second one. Do you mind telling me which pattern you used? It looks great in you!
Hiya yeah of course! It is actually not a dress but a jumpsuit. It is the sirocco by deer and doe patterns x
@@SewingBunny Thanks! And what fabric did you use? Ponte Roma?
@@beliratube yes that’s right I used ponte xx
Thanks, I love your sewing projects
I added the frill on to the bottom of view b, I made the frill shorter.
Yeah the frill is so pretty I’m going to make another one with all the frills 😍 x
Hi Michelle, great video and sew along, wanted to ask, do you always trace all of your patterns ? 😊💕
I always trace if I have a paper pattern just in case I loose a pattern piece, make a mistake or need a different size. If I have a PDF pattern I tend to trace or cut directly on how I feel at the time x
Hi - great video, could you give an idea of the interfacing weight you used - thanks
Pamela Drake yeah sure I used lightweight interfacing which I use for most of my viscose garments which is like a gauze fabric iron on interfacing. It’s amazing for lightweight fabrics but not so much for this one I think. Next time I think I would use my usual medium weight which is the more paper like stuff 👍
This is late in the game, but any idea where to get that fabric ? I love it.
Ohh I haven’t seen it around in a while, if I ever do come across it I’ll pop a link in x
