That woman should've been indicted as Harvey Weinstein's co-conspirator... Media outlets reported that Kennedy hired Hedlund w/o seeking authorization from Disney's legal dept OR notifying former CEO, Bob Chapek. This was a HIGHLY irregular move, WAY outside of Disney's standard hiring practices & Kennedy knew this darn well. Chapek and the Disney Board were infuriated by the hiring for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the fact Hedlund could STILL be brought up on charges for her role as Weinstein's accomplice. It was quite obvious that Disney's legal department would NEVER have cleared Hedlund for employment & if by chance they did, Chapek & the Board would NEVER allow it to happen. Truth be told, Kennedy had just pulled the ultimate power move on the Disney brass. Hedlund was Harvey Weinstein's "ACOLYTE" and as such, she likely has the dark, dark secrets of some very powerful people. It's no wonder Kennedy broke every rule on the book when she hired Hedlund. Kennedy hired Hedlund as the ultimate insurance policy against losing her job..
When you own the dirty laundry of Hollywood elite... You can annihilate valuable IPs like Star Wars or Indiana Jones and still keep your job!

The 'nerds' aren't threatened. They are beyond annoyed that the showrunners are making everything about themselves and not the audience.
If you owned a steak restaurant, you would cater your menu to people who love to eat steak. You're constantly selling your business, seeing what works, seeing what folks don't like. In modern times, that means using social media to sell what you're doing with a franchise to its audience. Going on X and talking about everything BUT what the audience wants to hear and bending the lore out of shape to suit your ego is not doing it right. Even if it's just a perception thing (and it's not, but even if), they are doing it wrong.

Honestly, I think I’d prefer going back to people being bullied for liking nerdy things, rather than having the mainstream crowd, destroy them from the inside out.
Yeah, the mainstream crowd is not who facilitated the change in gaming. The game companies themselves, their main institutional investors, and the ones pulling their strings who hold the keys to the capital( ie BLK) that keeps them afloat, they are the prime disruptors in the dissolution of the development and the process of making games. Just as it is in every other sector, merit is being tossed out for checklists and quotas. The mainstream crowd are merely the useful ids who were mobilized and are influenced to shill/criticize uniformly.
Also, sorry to say but imo things aren’t going back anytime soon. So long as we are forced to pursue/accept AI, the artificial ‘mainstream’ narrative will be disseminated as fact and there won’t be any way to deny it or verify the truth. Ik it sounds out there, but we’re fast approaching this State.

Craig, I grew up with Star Wars. My earliest memories include watching the Phantom Menace. To watch my favorite franchise be just torn down by people who despise it, and told im not a true fan because i refuse to watch Disney's garbage, is infuriating....

It’s weird cause Disney ran a animated show called the owl house which was honestly one of the most top tier animated shows in recent history. But once they introduced the main character being lesbian and one of the side characters having two dads Disney cancelled it and had the writers force the ending into 4 episodes.

'Star Wars' shouldn't be 'A way of life'. (Neither should Michael Jackson, or The Steelers) But you don't mess around with an established property just to push your lifestyle.
Don't watch it, don't talk about it, the more you give them attention the more it will continue.
Star wars has lasted this long on 2 excellent movies from nearly 50 years ago and cool toys from the 90s. They will suck the remaining life out of these franchises and move on to the next thing.

You Prequel lovers need to quit being so sensitive. Did the original comment say anything about the Prequels being bad? No. The first two Star Wars movies were excellent. The third not so much. But even as someone who loves the entire OT, you don't see me calling the original commenter a ROTJ hater, do you? Of course not, because I respect facts, no matter how much I enjoy something. Are the Prequels inferior to the OT in terms of quality filmmaking? Yes. That's fact. Do you personally enjoy the Prequels more than the OT? Maybe you do, and that's okay. But let's separate facts from personal enjoyment.
