Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"!
The owl.............good catch.
Must be on mid term break from Hogwart’s.😊
That Owl though!❤❤❤
Great Horned Owl: largest North American owl, and one of our commonest owls. Looked like a tasty snack.
Neat
I’ve got barred owls in the backyard and they are awesome. WHO cooks for you?
The Duke boys would be proud 14:47.
Shoulda freeze framed it with the narrator saying something in a southern accent: "Nahw, you know BNSF would kinda frown on the boys crossin' in this kinda manner."
Great footage of the Owl catch.
@27:07, that car cleared every rail! He’ll need to check his under carriage but that was a good jump. Hope his back survived!😂
Dukes of Hazard fan for sure!
Do they have a pilot's licence?
Mechanics best friend 😊
That flock of birds swooping past the camera reminds me of the Hitchcock movie..."The Birds!"😂😂
@@Edward-bd8iy Geez I had enough trouble at 12 just watching it on TV! The theatre would have been a whole lot worse!
I always liked it that Cryo-Trans named each of their boxcars!
It’s cool isn’t it?
Lol, the open hatch on the tanker at the end with the VRF logo superimposed on it- totally awesome
RIP to Sgt. Thomas Arthur Petschke Jr. of Crestwood, Kentucky, who died of a medical emergency while responding to a structure fire near Goshen.
I had read about his untimely passing. My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
Thank you for your service, Sgt Petschke.
Thank you Sgt petschke Jr. Who served in the ballardsville fire and rescue.
What fire department was this guy that died on
@@amyhayhurst4762 ballardsville fire department
wow we just shipped that passenger car out of my terminal the other day
Beautiful capture of an OWL!!! What a bonus. I have a collection of plush and statue owls, so to see one in action is definitely a joy!
Seeing that tank car with an open lid reminds me of an occasion when we had a tank container with an insecure lid which had blown open like that. The problem was that the lid had been bouncing against the 25kv overhead line for an hour or so and this had spot welded the container to the twist locks. When the crane tried to lift the container the wagon was coming as well. Cue cutting gear! This was about 40 years ago, I think it was a Felixstowe to Trafford Park train. (I'm talking about a Freightliner train in the UK, by the way).
I love the great horned owl and the birds in Cumberland, but the cortege in LaGrange was what really touched my heart. RIP Sgt. Petschke.
Wow! Great catching all the trains, including an owl in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Virtual Railfan, thank you.
Thought the duke boys was from Georgia,LOL
@@Edward-bd8iy Nope Hazzard County Georgia
13:36 Just for anyone's information, NS 3329 was the SD40-2 that had the Maersk paint scheme.
My cat perked up and noticed that owl moving! Thank you for the close up.
I love the cameras in Cumberland, my home town for 20 yrs. (The C&O, B&O, and WM days) and I still drive 7.5 hrs. once or twice a year to go back and visit. I've been a railfan since childhood, and VR brings it right to my desktop .. thanks to all who make it possible. ❤
Great Video. Looks like the Dukes of Hazard were having a Tryout in La Plata, MO. 😬👍🙏
I really enjoy seeing the trains going through my state of Oklahoma and
also in Texas and Kentucky another
great video of VR Grab Bag Thanks.
the Night Owl is on the Prowl.🦉🦉

That's like the 3rd or so "Flying Darwin" at La Plata in the last few years.
Great footage and meet in Roanoke Eastbound dropping the signal, great horned owl 🦉,wave from Conductors!👍🛤🚂
To firerighter funeral thank you for your time and service. RIP.
For those wondering about 1719 this is what I got from the internet. 1719 unit SD23T4 was rebuilt from SD40-2 unit 8821
The work took place at the ex C&O locomotive shop in Huntington WV.. now known as CSX HHR
also called an ET23DCM, an SD40 given a Tier 4 emissions upgrade with a 2300 horsepower 6-cylinder GEVO engine. 1716 also made todays grab bag as well and I'm pretty sure I've seen 1717 around Cumberland as well.
Very interesting
Another duke want a be at la plate 😁
That Penn Central unit at 25:00 was looking kind of ragged - just like the real thing
Nice to see police are making sure pedestrians are safe from the rials
You mean rails?
What are rials?
@@sweynforkbeardtraindudeOmani currency, I think. Scary stuff.
It's like rooooooods from Tommy boy but with trains and rials

That firefighters funeral, very impressive, known more than a few vollies myself, and participated in quite a few parades too! One department had the Chicago black over red paint scheme, really stood out! May the family, and friends of that Sargeant keep his memories ever green,as those vollies do wonders, and right under people's noses! Thank you! Thank you 😇 😊!
Black over red ist his home FD of Ballardsville, neighbor in the southeast of La Grange.
Beautiful CSX passenger consist!
Geat bunch of GRabs! your right one of the best! Thanks!
Great seeing the anthracite road heritage engines. Lehigh Valley looks good pulling the Apollo
Love the old BN logo. Always looked like a crocodile with its mouth open to me.
Them Duke boy's are at it again!
Really enjoy seeing the K&O smoking up the hill in Wichita with those legacy engines!
I love the shots from TVRM! I'm about 50 miles from Chattanooga and that is THE place for railfanning in the southeast! Thanks for posting always great content!
No prizes for guessing who was creating the Autumn mists when they hove into view at Gt. Plains, Wichita. I thought that RSSX GP15 made for a brave sight at Waupaca.
First time I saw "hove" used here, very good!
14:56 looked like the general lee.
Deep wisdom of the day to contemplate:
If an NS locomotive receives a PC scheme, is it redundant?
Keep these going as always
Another great grab bag from VRF .
Thanks for the video
2:17 very nice k5la!
Was that a crew member shining the flashlight?
@@jamesghiorzoe107If it was, shame on them ... childish.

Cretin at La Plata may well soon be needing new suspension......
3:38, What are you looking at, you owl?
❤ love that video whoever did it did an outstanding job
15:07 Its a new fuel efficient driving method. If your tires dont touch the ground then you dont have any friction between you and the road, hence you dont have to burn alot of gas to travel.
Great grab bag, for sure😊
That car caught some serious air
*Nice*
I think the sun was travelling on a train through Cordele.
Serious airtime in La Plata.
Satellite dishes in OKC.
8:01 NS Southern heritage 8099 was still in charge of 65q at Chattanooga. I heard that units were changed out in Atlanta, but clearly that didn't happen here. She was in charge of this train in Cordele on saturday where I got footage of her as well. If anyone is interested in seeing it, and if I'm allowed to mention channel content, it's on my channel now.
Seeing all those Road names on that BNSF engine reminded me of playing Rail Baron with my father(RIP) It's funny too that in that game the Norfolk railroad has about four dots(Very small railroad) . Now it's eating up all the other railroads on that game for the the most part. In the South you have the SAL and the ACL, now it's CSX. For those who are unfamiliar, it's monopoly except you buy railroads. Roll the dice and see where you have to go to deliver your load. You get paid for your trip but you have to pay to use the railroads.

I didn't know that my hometown of Roanoke VA gets so much traction of railfans. Might have to find a place to railfan soon seeing its a good spot apparently
Looks like a lot of great FMS/EMS/LAW vehicles in the La Grange area. Looks as good as similar vehicles here where I’m at in Southern California.
Nice units indeed. Some of them didn't even come from Oldham County.
I drive past one of those cameras all the time, didn't know it existed, lol.
I miss staying at The Station Inn in Cresson and seeing the RJ Corman regularly.....

That 65Q (Southern 8099 on point) made good time from Chattanooga to Elkhart 15hrs isn't too bad by rail. In a car that's an 8-9 hr drive
Hello
Magnificent video as always
What locomotive is the one that appears at minute 16:50 and earlier on the CSX?

Great grab bag,as usual. The Leigh Valley was the first ever heritage unit I've caught.

Hi Train Fans, what is your favorite SD40 _color scheme_? I want to build 2x from Technic Lego!
An inspirational video! Thanks!
To the man on locomotive 1810 @ 5:32 ... Thank You for the wave!!!
I don’t think this was “one of the great east grab bags” I think it was the greatest grab bag, especially because of the first responders funeral
Good ending,

Fire department: **calls the power company**

15:21 What is the Po-po doing? The locomotive has a horn for a reason. Two longs a short and a long and start going across.
Well, maybe he was helping insure that some bozo does not scratch that pretty train?
0:26 I was wondering how long it would take him to realize he could hitch a ride.

Could someone tell us what the equipment is that we see which appears to have significant hydraulics. Also you focus on equipment on large flat cars, what are they? I know they are some kind of transformer (electrical not a car) but what kind? Thanks
Those questions need to be directed to the companies who were shipping and receiving those products.
I suspect the 'hydraulic' equipment you are asking about are the MOW trains and are a ramp that opens up to be a simple, easy way of unloading all the MOW vehicles. I'd certainly love to see one of those unfold and be used. I assume (I know what that makes...) that the crew put connector rail between the flat cars so that the vehicles can be driven down the train and off the end. Whoever thought of that should be retired rich by now!
A grab bag a month or so ago included footage of one of those ramps being unfolded and used at Skykomish.
19:00. Thank you for your service. From myself and the on Patrol live nation 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤
At 20:31, did the police talk to the railroad before blocking the tracks? I'm trying to understand what that cop would do if a rail car ran away down the tracks. I don't think that's an intelligent way of doing this.
That would be standard procedure for ANY competent agency needing to cooperate with a rail line to comunicate and make sure there is no interference in special movement scenarios between pedestrian, road and rail traffic.
You must remember, this is in KY!
@@sweynforkbeardtraindude Let us hope your home territory is absolutely pure as the driven snow when it comes to not having any public misadventures!

Thank you for honoring a true public servant's funeral procession.
"Just Rolled In" has a lot of cars showing the result of flying cars. These "people" don't realize that when this is done in the movies, it's either CGI, or a real car that gets destroyed in the process. LOL
I've been subscribed to that channel for a long time now, you are absolutely correct lol!
are there going to be any giveaways anytime soon???
They need a camera between mobile, al and new orleans, la
RIP to the firefighter. I do hope that the police officer sitting on the Tracks notified the railroad and the railroad agreed not to send trains during this time. Regardless of circumstances, you are a Darwin Candidate if you are parked on tracks without permission.
Uh, I have a feeling they had permission...
@@TinkerTailor4303 I wouldn't count on it, but I hope they did.
