@@ruralpestcontrol Happens to the best litters :( So hard when they're small, I've had similar experience in hamsters although they're very different animals. Sometimes you can't tell til it's too late.
@@haleynorthpie6740 yeah I think they both had internal infections of some sort. One I found dead in the nest the next morning, and the other was more like a runt and was struggling with his back legs. I was feeding him separately to the rest and he was doing really well. Then overnight he just nose dived in condition and that was it 😔
Just noticed something my baby ferrets are not even 2 weeks old yet and the colours are coming through loads and they are crawling about out the nest a little so we had to put a piece of wood so they can’t fall out the nest because our cage is like a chicken one
Rural Pest Control Whitwell she should do I have two ferrets and I’m having kits with the other one next year my sister wants a Jill but dad won’t let her
Wow ... that was fantastic .. been waiting for an update vid since the sexing video ... which , lead me to donate all my collection money I received from work ( last Wednesday ) for my 60th birthday , too the local ferret rescue centre ... a worthy charity ...
Happy belated birthday 🎉 if there wasn't soo many irresponsible breeders or people who think it's necessary to breed a Jill when she's in season there would be no need for ferret rescues ☹️.
Wait til they're all out of season. Then allow them to see and smell each other. You could swap their hutches over if you are keeping them separate and that way they can get to smell each without being in contact.
@@ruralpestcontrol Hey bud sorry to be a pest. The intro is going well cheers. One more question though have you ever come across a swelling in the cheek? Read it may be saliva glands?
Oh gosh, cute little sausages. Are which age do you consider them "adoption ready"? Like at which age do you notice the kits to distance themselves from the mother? I know in the US they sell them sometime at 5-6 weeks, which is far too young. In Canada here we can adopt the Canadian ferrets at 8 weeks only.
Hi mate , I’m from Hertfordshire , we need to get a vasectomy done on a hobb , no vets down here do it , and most haven’t even heard of it !! , do you know of anywhere I can get it done and the rough cost ??? Thank you 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi we are breeding for the first time our Jill had a litter of six sadly we have lost two! So down to 4 now! At two week they were all same size and being fed well by mum but there’s one that’s tiny & seems to be loosing the weight rather than putting it on would you take that one out and attempt to hand rear or let nature take its course Many thanks Laura
personally I would leave it for a few days. If there is only four kits there should be more than enough teats and milk for it to feed and should have a good fighting chance. I have not hand reared them before so I'm not sure of what you would need and how often you would need to feed it etc.
They're so cute. Love how you stroke every one of them to be used to human touch
My ferrets get handled from as soon as possible 👍
Gorgeous colours, wonderful looking kits
Thanks
Beautiful kits. I think champagne / sandy for quite a few of those. Look lovely and healthy too, Bonnie is a great mum.
She did a great job, unfortunately lost two of the hobs 😔 which can't be helped.
@@ruralpestcontrol S only natural sadly :(
@@haleynorthpie6740 it is I tried to save one but I think it was too late

Hey bud. Any tips on introducing newly acquired kits to 3 adults? First introduction didn't go so well!

@@ruralpestcontrol Many thanks bud. Things going good. Hopefully introducing them one by one next weekend. 👍

They shouldn't leave the mother no younger than 8 weeks.
What shavings do you use on the floor?
I buy them in a bale. They are pet shavings. Sold in agriculture stores and used for horse bedding etc. I show it in this video.
Cheers

I paid £80 for mine at my vets, only thing I can suggest you do is Google all vets in and around your area and ring them all
Rural Pest Control Whitwell ive Called so many , and I’m really struggling to find one
