The Bangles were part of the L.A. Paisley Underground scene of the early 1980’s. Prince was a big fan and was inspired with his paisley themed work later on in the 1980’s. Fun catchy song for them, lots of radio play back in the day.

Prince wrote an absolute killer song for them, "Manic Monday" I think you already reacted to it. Great band. "Eternal Flame" is absolutely classic! Definitely reaction worthy!

It was just kind of a fun song inspired by ancient Egypt drawings. Mindless but it had a big moment in the 80s.

I was in college when this came out. We didn't need memes. (but, I like how you connected that concept.) Back in the day, if you were in a bar and this came on, everybody did the dance.
    Thanks for your reaction.

It's Eternal Flame for me. Eternal Flame is probably one of the biggest pop songs of all time. Written by Tom Kelly and Billy Steinberg who also wrote Madonna's Like A Virgin and a bunch of others. It is absolutely beautiful Eternal Flame is. My favorites from the Bangles it's arguably one of the most beautiful pop songs of all time sounds like a lullaby and Susanna Hoffs literally became a pin up queen

Dig the big hair! Their performance may have been inspired by "King Tut" a novelty song by Steve Martin that broke into the top forty in 1978 after he performed it on Saturday Night Live.

To me this always been a very corny yet kinda catchy song. It's definitely a product of it's time. Pretty much every decade had a dumb catchy song that randomly blew up.
