When you understand the processes behind the software tools, it becomes almost second nature what to do in cases like this. Excellent work!
Dude... I work with Photoshop. Every day. Still, I learn something new from every video of yours... It is insane! Thank you so much!
Great tips! Another way you can recover the lines is by using a combination of your favorite tool (curves of course) to make the lines solid black and blow out the color as much as possible. convert the image to greyscale and then make it a 1000dpi bitmap with 50% threshold. This will get rid of pretty much everything but the lines and maybe a spot here or there. Just erase the spots and you have nothing but the lines left. If you find the linework to jagged you can convert it back to a greyscale and apply a guassian blur and add another curve adjustment to fill in the lines, or take the bitmap into illustrator and trace the paths. This is the method we used for print production when we needed crisp clean lines.
I hope you never stop producing these amazing, incredible, informative, compelling and simple to understand videos...not only is the content fabulous...but your presentation and enthusiasm are without match anywhere else!
This is a useful technique for physical drawings with sketch underneath, as you can sketch and plan everything with color pencils and then draw the final linework with black pencil, ink or marker and clean all the colors. I usually used channels and red and green pencils for easy and fast results (learned this from a Columbian artist, Obsidian).
I think it would be great to show an example of cleaning a document (with paragraphs of text) instead of a coloring book image, as a need for restoring an important work document colored by kids seems more probable and grave to me in every day life :)
yay - the outro song came back!!!
thank you for the fun tutorial! Have a great day!
In exactly this circumstance, I'd recommend using a Black and White adjustment layer. Float the adjustment layer above the coloured scan and turn all the color sliders above 100. It'll knock out almost all the color data in one operation, leaving just black lines behind. It's usually pretty flawless, but you can always adjust Levels or Curves if needed. It's even non-destructive this way. 👍
Brilliant! And while I was watching Nelson kept pointing at me while yelling "hah hah!"
i love the new idea of photoshop challenge. These are fun to watch
you are always the master
Always a perfect tutorial by the Great Piximperfect.
Thank you @PiXimperfect. Love watching your videos. Always entertaining and educational. Here's an idea for another Photoshop challenge - make a photo from the 80s look as modern as possible. I'm sure you could do it!

Brilliant trick again, I will try this for sure
just go to image adjustment go to the threshold and adjust done !! but yes it will not make smooth edges !!
Mister, you are a wizard.
Amazing trick
100 points for the clean the screen joke lol 🤣🤘
Yeah, but joke aside, this already happened more often to me than i am willing to admit, and i don‘t even use Photoshop 😅
Please do a upto date Difficult Hair selection episode. Thanks
It's been a while that I opened my Photoshop but I still watch your videos😊
Thank you 🙏
You are awesome as always! ❤️
This guys so good I just watched this video without even owning Photoshop...
Great work and ttutorial
Another great video and always so much fun to watch. I always go away with a new technique to use.
Everything is so easy. Only 782 precised mouse clicks.
can u do a tutorial on how to reverse sharpen a picture, like a photo that has too much denoiser and is ultra sharpened and has glowing edges almost
I have zero creativity. These videos are amazing. The presentation is immaculate. This presenter could sell ice in the Arctic. Great videos.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A TUTORIAL LIKE THIS
Didn’t know the name of your channel but when I clicked the video I was thinking “I hope it’s that dude with the cool hair and the crisp mic”. Am not disappointed
My guy, the illustration is already perfect
what a professional and very pleasing to the ear and eyes
Excellent work thank you for this video. Keep making amazing videos.
Nice sir...
You good sir are super charming. I could watch you all day!! ❤
Do make a video to perfectly correct the scanned grayscale image(manga/sketches) with the highest contrast so the paper doesn't show up.
Great work my guy
Just epik!
This is literally the easiest thing to do in photoshop. In like 3 super easy steps. Crazy you would do so many steps to accomplish this
Nice lesson
Always perfect👌👏
Can u make a video for creating a t shirt mockup
Super great tips - very helpful indeed! To make them a bit easier to “get” try setting the playback speed to .75. Def gives you a better chance to follow along. 😍🍺
That overlay trick is insane...
Best Hagrid voice: "Yer a wizard, Unmesh!" Great, very useful video.
It'll be much easier in illustrator, but Photoshop is Photoshop... Respect ❤❤
Your work is awesome 😎
Amazing
Best Tutorial
This trick is already known. Btw thanks ❣️
Compact and very clear video, great work man!
Instead of removing the shady areas by hand you could use levels to clean it all adjusting the light, medium and dark sliders
@PiXimperfect - When i taught Photoshop, I would literally take a pen and draw on an photo in a magazine, then tear the page out of the magazine one half of the image at a time, then scrunch the two pieces of paper together in a ball and throw that in the garbage can.
I would then turn to the class, and tell them "25% of their mark is awarded for for each fix they can accomplish of the issues with the image.
Many could/would get some but not all of the issues resolved.
I'd like you to demonstrate the same as the exercise uses many of the "fixing" we have to do as artists on various projects.
Not every image we work with comes from a "Free PNG" sitre off the web :)
Thank you for all these great Photoshop tutorials. But, as I watch this video - is there a way to remove color from skin? Not tattoos meant, but normal paint (similar to body painting). Music band 'KISS' remove face paint for example.
This channel never cesses to make me better at photoshop!
ceases*
That was incredibly calming.
Sir, can you teach me to design marriage albums...?
This was such a cool video!
You're on another level!! 👏👏👏
thanks unmesh sir
I like the challanges actually !
That’s awesome
Lab color and blending options.
I was just wondering how can ido that without even searching for it on RUclips I found this Video, this is brillant
Excellent.
🔥
Brother how to remove covered color from photo
personally, a veery little bit of median blur could also help
you show nice techniches in this video, yes i work with some of them too.
but sincerely, i would just path this illustration in illustrator real quick :D
Awesome 👍
you ara a monster teacher and PS Guru man!
I don't think we ever used pastels as children. We were never that fancy. We just got crayons, colored pencils, and the like.
Can you give a retouch of sunglass of reflection. And remove reflection and bring original eye. Show us easy way for retouch.
Hello sir
ek number. 👌
I like this man 👍
Mmm I like ice creams
Sometimes I think Unmesh is the Photoshop
why not using the black and white effect and put all the colors to white?
how about to select only black color at start and copy that to blank page?
I have a quicker solution.
step 1: desaturate until no color is left
step 2: blur slightly
step 3: mess with contrast and brightness until it's fixed
please make illustrator tutorials
😎
New challenge: it's the same, but the image is colored beforehand.
You can get good results isolating black lineart if you float a Black and White adjustment layer above a coloured piece. Then just push each of the color sliders up over 100. May need some Levels/Curves after, and is somewhat dependent on the source image, but it can really do the job. This can also be done non-destructively using only adjustment layers, preserving the original.
Great... Wait. I men - Eyecaramba!
damn dude, i learned like 5 things in that video.
Just convert the image to CMYK and use the black channel
just adjust brightness and contrast curve until everything that isnt pure black becomes white...
G.O.A.T.
Why not just threshold ?
Ok
It was a black and white image ..
How can we recover a coloured image ?
Wow
Great. Now youtube thinks im interested im photoshop. Great video tho xD
I just go “screw it” and remove it by hand 😂
Le prix de PhotoShop conseille d'aller plutôt vers Blender pour être plus largement créatif et à moindre coût.
3:47 - I thought you'd hit the undo button? Oh wait, PS doesn't have this feature that MS Paint has had for forever? What???
I hope AI method will appear which can restore full image even half image was provided... For coins would work perfect
Bro I need your help😢
Ya hidi track dal diya kro
