    You can expand the capacity of this and most other SoGens by using a 12.8vDC 100aH battery and a 12v to 24v DC-DC step up converter. Plug it into the solar input for 1200wH of extra capacity.

    Great review. You covered it well. I have a River Pro, which is used mainly for home use power tools and garden appliances up to 600 watt, This is 80% of what I own. That extra 200 watts will be mighty handy though. The fact that the weight stays much the same is a BIG plus. Low weight is a major factor with portability and EcoFlow has balanced the weight/output of this handyman/gardener sized unit very well. The price is also good. Great product. Cheers Rob

    Hi Todd, you have produce another great quality video that's loaded with information and I really enjoy watching your well produced reviews. I think I would have liked this new River 2 Pro, but after communicating with you after you reviewed the New Delta 2 we purchased the Delta 2 and we're glad we did. I like the Delta 2 design better and it has a larger LFP battery and a good size inverter too, and it does everything I have asked it to do at home and in our RV on the road. Another thing that I really like is the APP because it's easy to use like Todd says and just works well. So those of you thinking of a purchasing a quality solar generator, Ecoflow is one the names to consider.
    Thanks Todd for your helping us with our decision and keep the reviews coming.

    4-7-2023 -- TODD I wish I saw this video before I bought my River 2 PRO. I have the River 2 MAX and it wouldn't power my full size refrig (*Refrig peak surge as shown by Kill-a-watt meter = 1216 watts). So I saw the PRO had a peak surge of 1600 watts and ASSuMEd this would power my refrig. NOPE... same as you got the "Overload" error on both. My PRO has a loud whistle sound when I plug into the 12v DC 5521 ports, so I asked Amzn to have it returned and I would buy the Delta 2 as the youtubers show Delta 2 does power a full size refrig. * So when I got the return shipping label it said I HAVE TO PAY FOR RETURN shipping back to Ecoflow. So much for a "5 year Warranty" :+( Strange thing is I own a Milin 622wh power station that DOES Power my full size Refrig, WITH NO PROBLEM... {Make sense of that?) Not sure what the problem is, I kill-a-watt'ed my refrig and it peak surged at 1216 watts!! Not happy with the River 2 PRO, will have Delta 2 elibvered tomorrow, so I'll see if that does power my full size kitchen Refrig. I should have just skipped the River 2 MAX, and PRO and gone right to the ECOFLOW DELTA . Live & learn. Great video as always. Delta 2 specs SO MUCH better than the River 2 line-up... just heavier and more expen$ive. Love Ecoflow's app compared to Bluetti. Ecoflow app sets it apart from the competition. 5 Stars app.

      Sorry to hear about that, I’ve been burned with return shipping on Amazon too. You’ll like the Delta because it will power pretty much anything you can plug into the wall. Mine has louder fans but I heard they improved that. EcoFlow is still my favorite brand

      @@todd.parker I'm with you on that, Ecoflow is top of the line in features, display, and the Delta 2 looks like River 2 on steroids, ha. The app sets Ecoflow apart from competition, my Bluetti app I have to be 6 feet away or less from the EB3a, what a joke. The Ecoflow I can be away 50' plus and works great. I saw vids about Delta 2 loud fan , Hobotech did a decibel test on it. Hoping mine isn't too loud, I saw Ecoflow at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics show, incredible creative company, very impressed. I can imagine the return shipping for the Pro via UPS will be expensive tomorrow. ho hum... Be well

    I was looking at Jackery for the longest time and thought I'd own a Jackery when I'm ready to pull the trigger, within a week EcoFlow has sold me. These guys make a good product. Looks like Jackery is trying to offload a bunch of Explorer 880's on sale at Costco for $750 (they don't even sell this on their site anymore, it's that outdated), while this thing is $700 regular price (Canadian Dollars). Sure 100+ more watts, but the price difference didn't justify it since this has LFP.

    Thanks for this. I have the kickstarter version that did have lifepo4 and a external EF-1500 battery.
    Loosing the external battery means I am looking to the Delta 2 now.
    Loosing the flashlight is easily solved with external light.
    Wifi and bluetooth is good as these things are also used where there is not wifi although making the old river became a hotspot was not that much a problem and I was not using the app much anyway, certainly not outdoors.
    Extra warranty is good
    Handle..... does make this this take up more space when not in use....
    AC outputs to the front... yeah better if you plug in and out things..
    Xboost is ....... something I have only used twices, but with 800 watt good to have.
    Conclusion... why not the Delta 2.....

    • @todd.parker

      I really like the Delta 2 and it’s a much easier unit to recommend because there aren’t as many limits as to what you can power. If you’re mostly powering DC/USB devices, the River 2 line is still a great choice.

    Started out with a River 2 and quickly realized...not enough capacity to last a day or two of Winter carCamping/ tentCamping: running two 50w (AC) heating pads, maybe a 200w (AC) micro heater and recharge iPad and phone.
    Would it make better sense to get two River 2 Pros (1536Wh) or one EF Delta 2 (1024Wh)?

    • @todd.parker
      @todd.parker  6 месяцев назад +2

      It depends. If you want to run higher power AC appliances like a fridge or space heater the Delta 2 is better but if you’re using it for camping and are mostly powering USB and DC items, 2x river pros would be more useful

    One consideration for me: Is it radio-quiet? I'm an amateur radio operator and in the field I need gear that does not generate radio interference. Almost all wall-warts do and many sine wave inverters do as well.

    • @todd.parker
      @todd.parker  Год назад +5

      As long as the VoC of the panel doesn't exceed the 50v limit, you're good - if it's higher yo will fry this. I your panel supplies more current than the River 2 Pro can handle, it'll just ignore it. By using a bigger panel, you're "over paneling" which will let you max out the solar input for a longer length of time which is a good thing.

    • @danyan55

      Same here, I have three 100 watt solar panels on my deck in parallel, and my River 2 MAX, and PRO just input the 220 watt and no problems, I do the 'over-paneling' same, works great. I'm buying the Delta 2 and that has a max solar input of 500 watts, so I am anxious to see how the 300 watts of solar input into my Delta 2. --- @@todd.parker

      Yes, this will passthrough the wall power and if the grid goes down, it will switch over. Depending on your PC, the UPS switchover might not be fast enough to keep it going since it's 30ms, depends on your computer
