"Stonesaga is a cooperative, campaign style, survival crafting board game set in a unique, persistent world shaped by your choices. It is designed by Max Brooke (Star Wars: X-Wing 2nd Edition, Legend of the Five Rings RPG) with Luke Eddy (Star Wars: Legion).
    Generational Storytelling
In Stonesaga, you unfold the epoch-spanning story of the people of a remote glacial valley, guiding multiple generations of characters who make a life there amidst harsh conditions, wondrous mysteries, and giant monsters.
Each game session covers one generation of people within a society, continuing from the last and permanently changing the valley in various ways based on in-game events and the players’ decisions.
    Cooperative Survival
Stonesaga follows a certain rhythm: faced by a new opportunity or crisis, the people of the valley must meet their society’s new needs. Meanwhile, the valley’s other inhabitants - immortal beasts - will seek to fulfill their own needs as their instincts dictate. You will have to navigate both sets of challenges, using might, dexterity, conviction, and awareness to survive as a tribe in the wild.
    Crafting & Building
Stonesaga introduces a completely new discovery based crafting mechanic. Do you think that a sharpened stone and stick could combine to create a spear? Use the crafting action and find out. You will need to discover the properties of various crafting materials as you expand your crafting “recipe” knowledge.
Work together as a community to build your village together. From a simple fire pit and tent to a forge and library, create a civilization that lasts the generations.
    Exploration & Discovery
Stonesaga rewards exploration and chooses to let you experience the world in a unique way each play session. Working on the established rules of the world, you will discover unique materials, monsters, and areas of the world that you won’t be directed towards. Stonesaga lets the curious and inquisitive thrive.
    Persistence
Designed for drop-in, drop-out play and flexible playgroup availability, Stonesaga can be played by one group from start to finish, played with a rotating cast, or even passed between groups seamlessly. Components are sometimes permanently altered, but never removed or discarded entirely."

I backed this immediately the same day the video went up! Since then I've tried it out on TTS and it's been lots of fun! I absolutely love the fishing and foraging mini games.

You made a mistake during fishing. During step 6 in the rulebook you remove any dice from the strike location after resolving that strike. So the 5 and 1 dice would have been removed after resolving the white line and would not have been there to resolve the red line.

It may seem that way but I explained all the components. If just setting up and not explaining what each component is, it’s quick!

It looks like a fun game. Not too complex but with enough meat on its bones. I especially like the exploration, forage, and crafting parts. Don't really care for the randomness of the omens since you may never match the ones in the bag to the current card.
How does it reset or is there a reset option? Or is there even a need for it to be reset?
The hardest thing I have with games that want you to write on the box or game pieces is that I may put the game down for multiple months or years and want to play it again, not finishing it in the prior plays. And with so long between plays, I may forget what's been accomplished and want to restart.

My thoughts exactly. It’s a perfect mid-weight survival game. The key for survival games is that the crafting engine is well designed and this one certainly is!

The card system for the fishing and harvesting etc. seems a little convoluted. I think it'll be fine the first couple of times but will get old very quick. I also struggle to see the "game" in this. It essentially looks like a tech-tree simulator. Gather a, craft b to help you to gather c....rinse repeat. I'm still intrigued by this but I'm a little more apprehensive going in than I was before watching this play through.

Fishing and haversting seemed like fun mini-games, but mining felt very boring and finicky . Putting the right number of each rock, feeling the rock, checking the symbols. Its not that much but way too much for pretty much no choice.

That’s tough to say by only seeing the prototype. If I remember correct there were things you would miss or choose not to do.

@@RollingSolo well it seems like overall the game seems more settlement based and working for the overall good rather than the individual. Also the crafting and predators are kind of like going out on hunts
