Absolutely love the diverse shield banners. One of my pet peeves with GOT was how you only ever saw the soldiers and knights with the banners of their head house, here you get a sense how how many minor houses are participating.
The soldier with the red stripes on white field heraldry are from House Robsby (in ASOIAF, Giles Rosby is master of coin), The soldiers with the green shield with a lamb on it, are from house Stokeworth (Bron married Lolys). Both are houses from the crownlands. Yellow gambeson used to be soldiers from the Stormlands in GoT. No idea which house is portrayed with the white diamonds on the red field, that are combined with black diamonds on yellow field. Having a combination like this, usually points to marriage alliance between houses tho
I can’t wait to hear the winter wolves show up and say “we have come to die for the dragon queen” Northmen will always and forever be more powerful and stronger than the Dothraki and Unsullied
I find myself coming back to this footage from time to time. Seeing the level of attention to detail here that wasn't present for much of GOT itself (E.G. the prominence of minor houses and their heraldry/sigils) as well as having seen just what they were able to accomplish for season 1 of HOTD has gotten me particularly hyped for Rook's Rest. Imagine... a proper action sequence that features late-era GOT-level spectacle with substance under the direction of a competent showrunner and skilled writers who care about the source material. If they get this battle right in the end product, then we can safely say that the catastrophe of S5-8 of GOT, including the battle of Winterfell, are long behind us.
@@henryleake4697 Season 6 had a lot of great moments but was very flawed storytelling wise. It's writing was nowhere near as good as seasons 1-4. There were so many plot holes and so many characters had plot armour, unlike in the early seasons. BotB and the Sept of Baelor explosion and moments like that were amazing, but overall the writing was way worse. If you think it's as good as the early seasons then clearly you just care about action and explosions, but GoT was about so much more than that.

What are you talking about? Season 5 and 6 were great and had hardhome and BOTB
There were plenty of minor houses in BOTB
Season 6 is literally the best season. It won best series at the emmys. How is that a disaster?
