Your videos are insane quality. There is nothing about them that makes me think "lazy". I'm sick of all these RUclipsrs who take forever to explain something, and they don't script anything properly. You go the extra mile by explaining things so clearly and precisely, and adding in useful links and timestamps in the description.
If you want a tutorial on how to mask and track that hot spot on his shoulder with Mocha Pro/Continuum give this comment thumbs up! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 hope this gave you the tools you need to start color correcting!
I think with all the colour grading/correction i've been learning over the last few weeks, this really pulls it all together in a lovely summary. I'm literally working on a video that has this exact spot but more so because there is a bright window in the living room hitting the back of my subjective and the light is spilling over. So yes, a tutorial on this would be great! What was new in this video that others didn't speak about is the "Skin line" that was some great piece video! Thanks!
I had to learn Premiere for my work. I was trained as a graphic designer in the 80's and video editing was never in my field of view as part of my career. So I trained myself and took some workshops and have become a passable user and have actually did some high end editing (with the help of a lot of RUclips tutorials). On a daily basis I work with a lot of images that require skin tone correction. In Photoshop I have no problems on photos, but when it came to video it was hit or miss. Some of the principles are the same, but I still couldn't make the colors look the way I wanted. Throw in flat video files and that is even more of a nightmare. This tutorial is awesome. I finally think I got it and I actually am no longer scared of scopes. I'm now subscribed and look forward to learning more. Thanks.
i have watched dozens of other videos over the last few months trying to grasp this process... you really made this topic easy to understand!!! it finally clicked!!! thank you
So glad you discussed the fast color corrector; a very useful tool! Also, you're only the second person I've watched on RUclips that has masked an isolated section of skin to show that the RGB colors of skin do not evenly match. Red intensity is greater than green and green intensity is greater than blue, as you showed. Most discussions of the RGB parade monitor just say that you need to get the RGB intensities to match, which might be true if you were talking about overall wide shots rather than close-ups of people. Great tutorial! Thank you.
The best color correction tutorial I have ever watched. You just saved me. I have watch several videos on this subject, and none of them have helped. Maybe it's me. lol. Thanks.
You took the mystery out of using scopes, and made color correcting and grading footage so much easier, in an efficient, well organized, and beautifully presented tutorial. Thank you!
This video has become such a useful tool for me in my day-to-day edits. I watched it when you initially released it and I forgot how much it has since proliferated my workflow. Thanks for your awesome work!
I've been looking for tutorials on scopes for the last few days. Every one I found was confusing me even more. I expected the same when I saw the notification for this video. It was a very pleasant surprise. Thank you for making understandable. Great tutorial
I almost never comment on videos, but I needed to tell you how great this is. Literally, I've seen 5 videos covering this same subject in the last two days, and yours was the only one that got straight to the point and made everything crystal clear. Absolutely fantastic job!
Wow. I've watched over 100 Premiere tutorials, and this is BY FAR the best skin tone correction tutorial I have found. I have a few videos with some funky skin tones (due to a cheap camera they were filmed with) that have almost ruined a project I'm working on, but your video helped me understand some new approaches on how to fix them! Just subscribed!
Just watched a whole bunch of videos before trying to find out how to correctly white balance, each one just said use the WB selector and click pure white, finally found one that explains what to do if you don't have any pure white in the shot. Thankyou!
I just wanted to say thank you so much- this is the most straight forward and easy to follow grading tutorial Ive watched so far and I feel like Ive just taken a huge leap through watching and now using what I have learnt from it- amazing- will def support you going forward- thanks so much you have made my day and the projects im working on feel so much brighter!
My girls band did a New Years Multicam livestream and the lighting was really messed up. I've watched at least a dozen videos on color correcting and your process provided the best results. Very good video and I'm very grateful you took the time to create it. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! I'll be posting the results on their youtube channel in the next day or so. I'm so glad I found you.
OMG I have been looking for how to rotate the skin tone area on the vectorscope for years! I never realized Fast Color Corrector was it! Thank you so much!
Hey my GAL, you are really my GAL. I love you really. You made this mystery so easy that even a 10 year old can do the color correction unaidedly. Once again hats-off and love you so much for such a fantastic method of teaching.....
Thank you, this is a very direct and informative video that significantly boosted my knowledge and confidence. Scopes used to terrify me, but you made them simple to understand and navigate!
I’ll join everyone else..this was the clearest and most helpful tutorial I’ve seen. I was afraid when I started searching I’d be stuck in the endless self promoting and nonsense jabbering that most tutorial makers do. Huge thank you for being professional and getting to the point. I’m a corporate training video maker by trade and I approve!
Thank you so much for the video! Short and straight to the point. I have been searching for how to grading skin color like a pro! and I found your tutorial! Amazing tutorials :3
Subscribed, thanks, I had a basic understanding and followed a few tutorials but I found the skin always just looked slightly off, this was a great help
Wow! You are the first one I found that didn't blitz through the tutorial and assumed we were experts at PP. You actual showed how to get from one point to the next and your version of PP is the same as mine and not customized to the point of me having to say "well my work station is different then his".
Hey! At 5:00, how would you fix the skin tone color if red was on the bottom, green in the middle, and blue was on top? Thanks for the great tutorials!
This is awesome. I been using it with my eyes but I agree that it is not a good thing. In metro scopes are the best. I'm starting to learn about it and thanks to you Kelsey!
I used that hue angle wheel a lo when I was in FCP-7. When I moved to Premiere I was disappointed to see they didn't have one. I was very happy when I found it again in the Obsolete folder. Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
WOW. Thank you so much! It makes such a huge difference after I corrected colors of my video following your steps. You're the best! The only part that I couldn't find was the hue saturation wheel. When I opened up the hue saturation curves panel, it was showing me line tools. I managed to use hue vs sat curve to still improve the colors quite a bit. I hope I used the right one. XD Thanks again!

I enjoyed this video too.
Agree - it's clear that she can write as well as edit. Which makes her DANGEROUS :)
Holy freak, this was one professional video. If only most people teaching on RUclips were as concise and relevant as you.
Wow you explain really well, you’d be surprised at how many tutorials don’t actually explain the steps in detail. Thank you so much!!
If you want a tutorial on how to mask and track that hot spot on his shoulder with Mocha Pro/Continuum give this comment thumbs up! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 hope this gave you the tools you need to start color correcting!
Premiere Gal I don’t know why more people haven’t liked this post! I would love to learn how to track hot spots with Mocha 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This video has become such a useful tool for me in my day-to-day edits. I watched it when you initially released it and I forgot how much it has since proliferated my workflow. Thanks for your awesome work!
This is the first video that has showed me how to adjust white balance without having a white sample you use. Thank you
I've been looking for tutorials on scopes for the last few days. Every one I found was confusing me even more. I expected the same when I saw the notification for this video. It was a very pleasant surprise. Thank you for making understandable. Great tutorial
