  • Here is a really fun board game that I bought from Waterstones the other day featuring JRR Tolkien Lord of the Rings books with Hobbits and other character. This is a bit of an unboxing and review, plus you will see images of all this, along with some of the paints you can buy too.
I am a great fan of Lord of the Rings along with a lot of the fantasy boardgames such as Dark Souls, Dungeons & Dragons, Heroquest and zombie games & TV series such as The Walking Dead. So this is a great combination of all of these genres. I hope you enjoy and I will look to feature some of my other painted sets in the future, although the channel is primarily dedicated to breakfast cereals
Whilst it is a bit of an unboxing and review, the main purpose is to feature the painted figures.

The reviewer, a board game enthusiast, discusses the 2023 Ravensburger "Lord of the Rings Adventure Book Board Game," noting its straightforward gameplay and ease of setup, which makes it accessible for new and young gamers.
The game features eight chapters with various quests and challenges, requiring no dice, and uses cards to determine game outcomes, adding a random but controlled element to the gameplay.
The reviewer appreciates the simplicity of the rules, the compact design, and the integration of setup instructions within the game book, making it easy to start playing.
Criticisms include the game's limited replayability, the lack of urgency from the ring tracker mechanism, and the absence of character development or skill enhancement throughout the game.
Overall, the game is enjoyable, especially for fans of the "Lord of the Rings" theme, but the reviewer suggests it may not have lasting appeal for experienced gamers due to its simplicity and limited depth.

That will be a big effort for me to watch as I haven’t seen The Princess Bride, yet.
